Woop woop some patch notes! I'm really happy how things are going at the moment, the few people coming to try out the game and leave their feedback - it is suuuuper appreciated! Once I feel the game is feeling super solid and onboarding well, I'll begin to start sharing the game more with the public, for now - I'm appreciating this slower "get things right" approach to putting the game out. I know to some it won't make sense, but I'm in this for the long game and people are more honest when money is involved.

I also want to use some of this time to make videos and work on the onboarding before more players come and try the game out, so development will slow a little while I make sure those things happen.

And with that, the first round of bugs being fixed, please remember to submit any and all issues or concerns, feel free to join discord or write something up in the community discussions on steam.

Are existing savefiles compatible?
- Yes - You do not need to make a new save file.

New:

- Added toggle window mode to graphics settings
- New cheat "quest <factionName> <quest>" generates a new random or named quest
- New cheat "squad <factionName> <travelOrNoTravel> <x> <y>" - generates a roaming squad at position
Both added to help dev test in live

Fixes:

- The movement line was sticking when KO sometimes, also hidden now during combat
- Some faction quest givers were in wrong clothes
- Couldn't attack after taming should now be fixed
- Quest difficulty was scaling wrong, should now be easier quests
- Wolves now always attack, and their health has been lowered
- Bow damage buffed slightly
- Couple of optimizations and removals of redundant code, may aid with AMD stutters
- Decreased the weight of hemorrhoids, er I mean, temproids.
- Escort quests now complete at a closer range
- Escorts now shout when close to destination
- Reduce travelling squad destinations so it's easier to tame some animals
- Reduce travelling squad path requests (may also help with stutters)
- Fixed follower jittering trying to go home constantly

Temporary:

- Removed the betrayal system for now, it's just too buggy, my apologies - I will work on it.

Liminal Void - jeijei
I am in the midst of working on Landmine Princess. Jeistar needs to release new games to keep the lights on. However, with the inevitable console ports, Liminal Void is on a fast track to new overhauls in the coming weeks.

Realistically, Liminal Void will have its V1.15 Update by May 23rd, with smaller updates leading up to this. At the same time will be the release of Landmine Princess. Afterwards, Kagemura and the Landmine Girlfriend Demo. It is a very busy time for me. If you enjoy the style of Jeistar, especially the music, you should totally buy the Volume 2 OST. YOU CAN ALSO STREAM THE LIMINAL VOID OST ANYWHERE LIKE SPOTIFY, YOUTUBE, APPLE, ETC.

Believe it or not most of the guitar parts were recorded with a recovering broken wrist. It was truly a psychological low in my life, at the most inconvenient time. A lot of the guitars used for Liminal Void were eventually sold off. I genuinely thought I could never play guitar again. Thankfully, I recovered, and my guitars paid the surprise medical expenses. I'm a business, man. A lot of the music style will carry onto the Landmine Princess soundtrack.

I'll likely continue to add extra stuff onto Liminal Void for at least two years since I am porting it to consoles. I want to get a Russian Translation. I have read Chekhov and never realized how perfectly the words enmesh the feelings of love, innocence, religion, memories, and all those other things so vividly and perfectly. It's as if I discovered another world that was there all along. All these feelings of loneliness vanish despite the absurdities I read. Like, this guy "get's it" without saying it. I neglected a lot of my writing capabilities, even though my family had produced writers and poets. That's a fun lore drop.

I will try my best to have an update this weekend, but with Mothers Day and my birthday going on around that time, things may happen unexpectedly. I moved out of New York City to a relatively isolated suburban town in another state after the release of Liminal Void. Far from home and the past.

My panel was selected to be presented at Anime Boston 2025. It's a small thing, but basically I'll be giving a one hour presentation on how to make video games. The right way, without the BS. If you happen to be near Boston on that weekend, you can meet me face to face.

I'm also trying to get some exclusive physical artwork to depict each game. But yeah, like any irl event, I'll have exclusive Jeistar merch. Free.

If there's anything you want me to discuss in the panel, feel free to add it here. But the main point of the panel is show that anyone can make games. I basically wanna get that congoer on a saturday night when they realize the fantasy is over and they have to check out tomorrow, then go back to the real world on Monday. I want to show them that it's all a cage they drew up. And game development is another form of expression, no different than oil on canvas or string on wood. I've done it all and I'm saying it.

Combat balance:

Several of you have reported that combat feels more difficult in the full-release game compared to the early-access version. I made some changes. Enemies between levels 1 and 10 can no longer have more than one elemental bite or resistance, including poison bite and poison resistance. Additionally, Spiny Skin can no longer occur with Poison Skin, Shock Skin, or Fire Skin.



Bugs fixed:

  • The number of items in inventory was miscalculated. Weapons and armor equipped by characters were added to the inventory.
  • I corrected the code to fix the mysterious "Phantom Enemy" bug. Since this bug never happened in the editor, I can't say with 100% certainty that it's fixed. We'll see.
  • Spider Worm uses Energy Leach ability after death.
