Prevent the game from getting to deconstruction and pipe placing state at the same time. That could get the game into a state where you would get an error while saving. If you've got a save that is broken like this, ping us on our Discord and we'll walk you through the process of fixing it.
Random entity now will make its first pick randomly but, when put in a loop, will cycle through the choices thereafter.
Can now choose to search entities in the script editor for the Search command.
Clicking on commands in the palette now us just a shortcut for dragging to the end of the action. It no longer asks for a location on the map.
Renaming roles now renames references in conditional expressions.
The conditional expression editor now handles deleting the first comparison correctly.
Fix how requested by @ and a few other terms are initialized.
Default the size of search to 25x25
let the group list in the vertical tag picker shrink and show its scroll bar.
control click from a beacon to the area of another beacon now copies.
show the icon for the deconstruct * in the expression editor.
count of sets (like construction and deconstruction) now works.
some bullet proofing in the pipe save code so it only fails to save the pipe rather than breaking the whole save.
Add icon to show when an broadcaster is turned off.
Prevent the game from placing pipes and deconstructing at the same time.
Spring has sprung in Appalachia and that means verdant, rolling hills, warm sunshine and, best of all, flowers! Spring also means pollen, allergies and pollinators.
Starting today, May 6, and running until May 20, The Big Bloom is a new seasonal event inspired by the beauty of Springtime.
There is no more avid a floral arranger than Black-Eyed Susan, a polite, older woman who is spending her retirement in Skyline Valley. Unfortunately for Susan, the meadow where she picks the flowers for her arrangements has a thorny problem: “Plant Monsters,” as she calls them.
The Overgrown have overtaken Susan’s meadow, and since you’re out enjoying the sunshine, Susan’s going to make it your problem too. But she’s no pushover, Black-Eyed Susan is armed, dangerous and has your back.
At the top of every hour, head to Susan’s favorite meadow in Skyline Valley. There, help her pick some flowers and deal with the Overgrown. Although, you’ll want to mind your step. Your next one could be your last. Susan’s favorite meadow also happens to be chock full of buried landmines.
Other dangers in the meadow are the pollinators of those flowers you’re picking: the bees! There’s one buzzing devil in particular who makes all other Appalachian bees look like ants. Or just normal-sized bees. Don’t get stung.
Completing The Big Bloom will net you experience, caps, Legendary Weapons and recipes for springtime-inspired outfits and C.A.M.P items.
The first time you complete The Big Bloom, you will be rewarded with a recipe book, from which you can learn flower crown crafting recipes. Flower crowns are a new headwear introduced with The Big Bloom that you can craft from three base flowers: Carnal Weepers, Radlilies and Crystalcups.
Combining two base flowers crafts a hybrid flower which you will need for more advanced flower crowns, like the Starlace Flower Crown, pictured below.
In addition, you can display all your flowers inside new glazed flowerpots in your C.A.M.P. Running short on flowers? You can even harvest more flowers from some C.A.M.P. items, such as the Pot o' Radlily. Certain outfits, like the Flower Suit and Flower-Printed Sundress, require hybrid flowers to craft.
First off, a huge thank you to everyone who’s joined us on this incredible journey since the official release of Ocean Keeper on Steam! We’ve seen an amazing response from players, and we truly appreciate all your support. We’ve also noticed some common questions and feedback across Steam and Discord, so we wanted to take a moment to address them here.
1. Why Did My Saves Disappear After the Release?
This has been the most asked question, and we totally understand the frustration. The reason your progress was reset is due to some key changes we made to the game. We’ve added a new storyline and locked many weapons and upgrades that will now unlock gradually as you progress through the story. Our aim was to provide a more organic gameplay experience where players explore and progress naturally, without feeling overpowered right from the start. Additionally, with all the new content we’ve added and some things we’ve removed, it was difficult to maintain saves in the previous format.
2. Why Is the Update Only Available on Steam? When Will It Be Available on Other Platforms?
We know many of you are eager to play Ocean Keeper on Xbox, PlayStation, mobile, and Steam Deck. The main priority for us was the full release on Steam, and we’re now focusing on bringing the game to Steam Deck first, including getting full verification from Steam that the game works seamlessly on it. After that, our next major focus will be fixing bugs and porting the updated version to other platforms like Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch. Rest assured, we’re working as quickly as we can to make sure Ocean Keeper is available and polished across all platforms.
3. What About the Reward for Players Who Played Before the Release?
We know it can be disappointing to lose progress, especially after investing time in the game. As a thank you to those who played before the official release, we’re rolling out an update today that will reward you with a special bonus to help you progress faster in the game. Check out the details below for what you can expect!
Once again, thank you for your continued support and feedback. We’re reading everything and making improvements where we can. If we haven’t responded to you yet, don’t worry — we’re on it and will get back to everyone as soon as possible.
Stay tuned for more updates, and as always, happy adventuring! — The Ocean Keeper Team
Hello. I looked into fixing a couple of bugs but jumped to change a few other things as well. Not surprising one bit. The weekly early bird multiplier didn't last for long but hopefully in this new incarnation it will fare better.
General
"Early Bird" weekly multiplier bonus changed to a "Daily Bonus" - a random base total multiplier between 1.01-1.2x is set daily for the weekly challenge
Weekly challenges can have fixed seeds i.e. everyone will play the exact same map with same building locations etc. (yes, next week we'll totally give this a go!)
All party members stick a bit closer to player and will sooner join the group if left behind
Cat will attack enemy that is closest to player (used to be random)
Bugs
Game crash "bool argument is unset" on normal maps if elites exists when boss battle begins
Early bird multiplier bonus applied to all maps not just the weekly one
Wishbone extra reward was lost if you chose to level up later
Wishbone extra reward increased every time when using reroll
Wishbone extra reward could be rewarded on reroll despite not having extra reward before
End screen level up rewards stat was skewed due to adding other events to it
Investment Seminar local event could popup when the bank is out of funds
