Life at the Arc is better than I thought it would be. The engineers have outdone themselves, rigging up a pulley system to move supplies—and people—to the top. It’s crude, loud, and far from perfect, but it works.
The word must be spreading, because every day brings new survivors. We’ve gone from a handful of weary stragglers to something resembling a community. More hands to work, sure, but also more mouths to feed. That’s the trade-off: growth means risk, and risk means patrols.
We’ve been combing the city, scavenging anything we can. Food, medicine, even just tools or scrap metal—it all has value. Most places have long since been picked clean, but if you’re willing to go deeper into the city, you can still find a few things. If you survive.
Yesterday, we hit a block near Rue Coquillière. We checked an old boulangerie. The upstairs was barren—empty shelves, shattered glass, dust thick enough to choke on. But in the basement, we found… A rat swarm was eating a corpse.
Hearing us come down, the rats turned. Their eyes glinted, their bodies shuddered, and then one of them… popped.
The explosion was small but vicious, sending a spray of spores and viscera across the room. We fired, retreating up the stairs as more rats began to swell and burst. The noise was deafening, the stench unbearable, but we managed to fight our way out.
Once we were safe, I looked back. The rats were dead, but the spores lingered in the air like a malevolent fog.

The Image Render Tool on PC & Mac just got even better! 😎🖼️ In a host of new updates, you can now export animations, search for specific items, export multiple renders at once, and export new Podium “Pose” animations!
Check out this full list of all the new features!
The image render now allows you to export animations as well as single frames!
Animations can be exported as Animated PNGs, or image sequences in their own folder within the “Brawlhalla Renders” folder.
Includes an additional option for exporting Attacks animation that allows for the image bounds to expand so the character follows the attack's movement.
The image render tool now has a search option! Use the new search bar to find a specific cosmetic item faster. Applies to: Legends, Legend Skins, Weapon Skins, Color Schemes, Emotes, and Sidekicks.
There is an advanced setting for Animated Emotes to export them with a loop or no loop.
Signature Attack Exports can either be anchored or follow their movement direction.
Podiums can now be rendered in their Ready, Lock-In, Victory, or Defeat poses.
Please Note: while using newer features of the Image Render Tool, some exports may take longer to render than others depending on scale. If you notice your Brawlhalla client goes still, just know it’s thinking hard to complete your export!
We’ve also been utilizing the power of the newly updated Image Render Tool to create our most comprehensive Fan Kit ever! Want to quickly grab an Animated PNG or image sequence of Mordex’s Scythe Side Sig? It’s already been exported and shared in the Fan Kit with many, many more!

New Charge FX
Brawlers got an early preview in the previous patch, and in Patch 9.06 we’ve fully implemented the new unarmed Charge FX.
The new FX are specially hand-drawn animation to better telegraph a charging unarmed or Signature attack, and honestly, they just look much nicer now!
Neutral Greatsword Light Attack FX Update
We’ve updated the FX on Greatsword Neutral Bridge out of Side Light to better indicate the full hitbox.
Mako Performance Improvements
We’ve done an additional performance pass on Mako’s base Signature kit for improved visual & overall game performance.

Small edit to the Latin American Spanish description of the “Horde” Brawl of the Week.
The free-to-play Legend rotation for this week features: Teros, Thea, Yumiko, Arcadia, Volkov, Fait, Isaiah, Zariel, and Asuri.
Teros – This Minotaur is indifferent to the rules or intent of the Tournament. Instead, he takes savage joy in all the battles while crushing his opponents with Axe and Hammer.
Thea – You’ll usually find Thea kicking Asgard with her Battle Boots & Rocket Lance in Thundergard Stadium. She’s second to none in Brawlball, Dodgebomb, and all of Valhalla’s Eternal Sports tournaments.
Yumiko – Holding the appearance of a blind seamstress, this centuries old fox spirit has been brought into battle wielding her Magical Hammer and Bow!
Arcadia – The humble beetle farmer turned Glorious Queen of the Faefolk. Arcadia, the great champion of the Fangwild, fights in the Grand Tournament with Orma – the singing Greatsword, her Eldritch Thorn Spear, and trusty beetle companion Domo.
Volkov – The Vampire King of Batavia has unexpectedly found Valhalla and has brought his Scythe and Axe to battle.
Fait – Speaking to the stars and using glimpses of the future, Fait battles for good with her Scythe and Orb!
Isaiah – Major Isaiah Marshall, OEL’s special forces commander is at your service. He uses Cannon and Blasters with the help of his drone that’s equipped with a cloaking device and rockets!
Zariel – The Celestial, a warrior deity of Holy Justice, who abides in blessed Elysium. Zariel uses Gauntlets and Bow to take down both Demon hordes and any warrior participating in the Grand Tournament.
Asuri – This Night Stalker has claimed the Tournament as her territory and sets upon challengers to her domain using Katars and Sword!
SyComs, or “Synthesizing Computers”, are robot companions that accompany the player everywhere they go in the world of Hyper Light. Each character has their own unique SyCom companion, which serves as their interface with the technology of the world, allowing them access objects like doors, hatches, and computer terminals. Facing odds in a hazardous and often lonely world, having these stalwart companions around is both a practical necessity and a comfort.
We're partnering with Makeship to create a plushie of the OG SyCom - the Companion from Hyper Light Drifter!
I thought the last update would be the last before beta, but plans may be changing slightly. I'll keep you informed about what's going on when I have plans finalized. There's still spots left for the beta, and if you sign up soon, you'll be guaranteed a spot! You can sign up here: https://heroessuck.com/newsletter/
These patch notes may be short, but there's so much more behind the scenes that I'm not adding to these notes, and I can't wait for you to be able to experience all that the game has to offer.

Improved UI during battle.
Improved feedback form. Now you can choose to send your save file and/or screenshot with your report.
