While this bittersweet news is a bit tragic after just announcing we've shut down operations, the team is ecstatic and very happy to hear that we're getting such critical acclaim.
If you're not in the loop, you can read our shutdown announcement here.
The future of Supermoves - Frequently Asked Questions
To keep you informed (as promised), I've compiled a small FAQ here based on all your questions so far, but as said, the situation is fluid and stuff is subject to change. Don't treat this as a bible - this situation is ongoing, things might change rapidly.
What's going to happen with Supermoves? Any updates?
I have only a vague idea on what's gonna happen with Supermoves. I've been in many talks with lawyers, IP people and experts - but I don't have a concrete answer yet. We've been informed that the company won't be able to go down without a bankruptcy (a random bill will eventually default and probably cause us to go under automatically, in the future).
There will most likely be some sort of a bankruptcy auction; but I've been informed that the Supermoves IP will include a sizable "pay this amount" requirement on top of the IP rights, so what we're looking at is something called an "IP Hell", for the lack of a better word.
This would mean it is incredibly hard or time consuming to ever be able to relist Supermoves, as long as that requirement exists. I wish I could elaborate further, but negotiations are ongoing.
This is why I'm informing you early that this might happen, and with the situation, will most likely cause the delisting of Supermoves and its online features in the near future.
Will Supermoves be delisted? Will online play still be available?
There's probably going to be a demand we stop selling Supermoves on the Steam store in the future. This will also sadly mean that the online services for Supermoves will be shut down in the future.
As of this moment (April 28th 2025) online services and the full gameplay experience of Supermoves and Supermoves Freerun is still available. Get a few buddies on, build a few levels and run a few tournaments for old times sake, while you still can!
When will Supermoves be delisted?
If I had to hazard my best guess; a few months from now. That's the best I can do at this point to tell you, since we're not the ones calling the shots in a shutdown situation like this. I do not know for sure and I wouldn't take this as gospel, as the situation is fluid and may cause a minor "company limbo" for a long time, should these things drag on.
I also don't want to make this any kind of a FOMO moment where if you've been eyeing this game that you'd have to take the plunge right now. If you want Supermoves, the best time to buy it is right now, as I'm unable to tell you when I'll be told I'd have to pull the plug. It might be a month from now or a year from now, but a delisting is very likely, pending an actual miracle.
Can you play Supermoves offline?
Yes, Supermoves features an entirely singleplayer Career Mode that features most levels from the multiplayer with bots to run against, and even a bit of a Tony Hawk's -like story to boot. It's got hours and hours of fun gameplay and you don't want to miss out on it.
The online features that will stop functioning if we have to shut down services are:
Online playlists
The Makea Editor
Progression
Leaderboards
Explore Menu and the user-created levels over there
You can still get all the Steam achievements. I think one of them might require online, but I'll just delete it if it comes to that (the Makea Editor one).
If I could manage to somehow wrangle the IP rights to Supermoves, I could host the servers in a shoebox. The actual matchmaking is done using Steamworks, but the backend (Azure Thundernetes) requires its own thing that has to be hosted offsite - which is the thing that's gonna go under with the company, due to server bills.
There's a thousand reasons why I can't offer you a solution that lets you host your own online stuff. The short of it is GDPR with existing users and levels in the database. The long of it is there's nobody at the company anymore except me handling things, and it's unrealistic to think I'd be able to help engineer a solution to that. For that, I'm really sorry.
Can you discount Supermoves?
Yes, I've scheduled upcoming discounts to be the best we've had yet. Please grab Supermoves, it's a great game (and now critically acclaimed!) - the price we have now is already juicy - but be aware if you're waiting for a discount you might unfortunately find the game getting its store page delisted in the future.
Due to this complicated situation I'm not able to add additional discounts on top of what we've already scheduled (nor announce dates), but the game will be significantly discounted in the near future. Thank you for understanding.
I'll add a notice when and if we have to shut down the online services, so future players are adequately informed.
Can't you just buy the Supermoves IP from the bankruptcy auction?
That was my initial plan when I realized we were going to have to close down the company, but I've been informed that there's some terms which would make it very (VERY) expensive to get Supermoves in any way to myself or to another company. Whoever wants to get the game would have to pay a significant sum on top of the IP rights. It's pretty unrealistic anybody would do that, considering the state of things.
Negotiations are still ongoing and I'll of course relay to you if there's good news and I can keep Supermoves up and the servers running. But I'm being very realistic here that it is very unlikely.
Thank you and onwards
I've been answering your many questions in the comments of the last news post and I thank you very much for all the well wishes. It's a tough situation and we appreciate your kindness in hard times. The team has been overwhelmed with support and I really appreciate your understanding. This isn't what we wanted to happen, but sometimes indie games are a gamble, and it is what it is.
I'll keep you posted, the game discounted and hopefully somewhere in the future I can say what I'll be working on next. But to close this off, I'll do everything in my power to try and make sure Supermoves gets enjoyed for years to come, even if it will take me years to do so.
Here's my favorite picture of the Makea Games founding team, from back in 2022. That skate ramp was amazing for a backdrop. I wish we took more pictures of the entire development team. I hope everyone from the team lands okay, since we all poured our hearts into this and I truly cherish the time we had together.
For now, I'll go to the gala and celebrate Supermoves being nominated for a Finnish Game Award and Finnish Game of the Year, which is an absolute honor.

Greetings, Rune Hunters. I'm Seong Seop Song, the director of UNDECEMBER.
The last season, 'Trials of Power' began in the middle of winter. Now the flowers are starting to bloom, signaling the season’s end.
As we bid farewell, we welcome the new season: 'Starwalker'.
In 'Starwalker', you'll experience content centered around the illusion of choice. You may believe you're making your own decisions, but in truth, you're merely following the threads of fate. Let me introduce you to the new season, 'Starwalker', beginning with its new content: 'Wheel of Fate'.
Since its launch in September 2023, Dragonheir has received support and love from 10 million Travelers worldwide. Your perseverance and feedback give us the confidence and motivation to make this game the best it can be. We deeply understand that many Travelers have been dissatisfied with Dragonheir's lack of new content since December. I'd like to take this opportunity to communicate with all Travelers about what has happened with Dragonheir over the past year and a half, and to talk about our plans moving forward.
I. Changes From late 2023 to early 2024, while we were still basking in the joy of Dragonheir's successful launch, various unexpected changes began to occur both within and outside our team, causing the development of new content to stagnate for nearly a year. After numerous efforts, it wasn't until the end of 2024 that Dragonheir was finally able to reconnect with players in most regions around the world.
II. Issues and Adjustments The migration was a significant loss for both the project team and the players, but it also gave us an opportunity to examine ourselves. While migrating, we have also begun reflecting on and revising Dragonheir. We believe that for Dragonheir to perform better, we need to address the following issues: 1. Too Expensive: The $5 per summon price and the gacha design focused on a general pool with all heroes mixed together were too costly for most players. It was too expensive to obtain the heroes a player wanted, and even after four seasons, many players still couldn't assemble mainstream hero lineups to experience the joy of strategic gameplay. 2. High Learning Curve for Team Strategies: In-game, we lacked guidance for hero team composition, requiring players to invest enormous effort into researching hero skills, equipment, and team synergies. For players with fewer Legendary heroes, finding effective team strategies was even more difficult. 3. Lack of Diverse Gameplay: We introduced numerous challenge stages centered around team strategies. However, stages alone don't create a complete gaming experience. The game's modes still need adjustment and expansions.
Therefore, since October 2024, we have been working to adjust the game's content, hoping to welcome all players back with an improved experience. Our changes include: • Significant Price Reductions: We hope that by lowering the cost of each summon, adding targeted banners, and setting more reasonable pity systems, most players will be able to assemble strategically viable teams. • Streamlined Progression: We want players to spend less time leveling up individual heroes and more time focusing on the core gameplay to have fun: selecting suitable heroes and using effective strategies to overcome stronger opponents. As a result, we've completely abandoned individual hero levels. All heroes now share a level, making them as close to "ready to use upon summoning" as possible. • Combat System Overhaul: With reduced prices and streamlined progression focusing players on team strategy enjoyment, we needed more accessible strategic gameplay that beginners could easily grasp and gradually master. To achieve this, we've replaced our previous Elemental Affinity-based team building guide with "comps," each with different effects. Through these strategies, we hope players will gradually understand each hero's abilities and discover unique approaches to tackle different bosses. • Redesigned Season Gameplay: To address the "combat needs to be fun" issue, we focused on "having fun content." As a seasonal game, the purpose of seasons shouldn't just be a new round of competition. We want each season to focus players on different core gameplay elements, so we've planned various central mechanics, such as Alliance PvP and Alliance Boss modes, as well as solo roguelike gameplay. We hope to continuously bring players new experiences. These features were first launched in the mainland China version and have proven effective. Now we finally have the confidence to synchronize these adjustments with the global version.
III. Rebirth: Global Version Challenges and Plans The reason we launched in mainland China first was because it was a completely new region, allowing us to adjust the game to its optimal state without interference from existing online data. Now, as we return to the global version, any modifications directly affect tens of thousands of online players, so we must proceed with caution.
After careful consideration, we plan to restart Dragonheir's global version content updates and promotion strategy in the following ways: 1. Season Restart with Synchronized Content: We want all players to experience the proven content. Therefore, in the global version, we will restart seasons and updates, releasing new content according to the seasonal schedule and merging it with the global version. All players will start from Season 1, but user data will be retained: Due to significant adjustments to hero abilities and seasonal gameplay, after the new version update, all players will need to begin from the brand new Season 1. 2. All players will start from Season 1, but user data will be retained: Due to significant adjustments to hero abilities and seasonal gameplay, after the new version update, all players will need to begin from the brand new Season 1. However, players will retain their heroes, Artifacts, Dragon Crystals, Wyrmarrows, dice, and Skill Scrolls. Your assets will not be lost, so please don't worry. 3. Account valuation for veteran players with exclusive benefits: In addition to retaining all user data, before the official restart, we will launch an account valuation event for veteran players, returning your previous investments in the form of special rewards in the new version. Through this approach, we hope to express our sincere gratitude to the Travelers who have continuously supported us by providing attractive rewards, and we encourage you to spread the word, to reunite with your former battle mates to once again venture across the continent of Adenthia. (Please follow upcoming community content for detailed rules) 4. Complete global launch: When the new version goes live, Dragonheir will also relaunch in North America and several other affected regions. We are delighted to once again provide complete service to Travelers across all global regions.
Detailed update plans and event information will be gradually released through Discord and Facebook communities in the future. Travelers, please stay tuned. For all players who have persevered and accompanied Dragonheir until today, our hearts are filled with gratitude. We also solemnly promise to continue delivering quality updates for the global version, bringing Travelers more and better gameplay experiences. To express our gratitude, we're offering a gift code containing 5 Heliolite Dice, 10 Starlight Stone Dice, and 1,000,000 Gold, which you can redeem by entering the game now:【BRANDNEWDH】(Valid from April 28 to May 31.)
We hope you continue to follow Dragonheir and the community before the season restart. We also welcome your feedback in the community. Together, let us witness the rebirth of a better Dragonheir.
