- Range text changed from "current" to "now"
- Range best and now scores no longer overlap if triple digits
- Fixed rare bug which would cause the player input to assign to a secondary user if another input was connected

We sincerely thank everyone who showed interest and provided valuable feedback on the previous demo version.
Thanks to your input, we were able to discover and fix parts we had missed, and prepare this demo update.
And finally! Based on the ECG we previously showed, we have added our first Dialogue Event! Now Reiko can proudly 〇〇-debut!




Here are the details of this demo update:
1. Stage Clear Reward Dialogue Event added (triggered after clearing Floor 20)
2. Gallery System Update and Collection Feature Added (Weapons/Relics/Monsters)
3. Tooltip Additions



4. Point Shop update: Costume system moved from PlayScene Inventory to Point Shop
5. Key Binding and Volume Control settings added
6. Weapon Draw UI updated to allow choosing placement position
7. Story Revision (Reiko changed from CEO to New Employee)
8. Poker Hand Relics added
9. Shortcut Keys added to PlayScene
10. Hold Aim Key added
11. Reward Card System changed (no more card add events, now a roulette system)

Currently, "Hellgate Reiko" is progressing under three development focuses: System Updates, Balance Updates, and Event (Dialogue) Updates.
This update mainly focused on system improvements, but we plan to address balance issues in upcoming patches.
※ Save data will be maintained through balance updates.

Next Update Goals:
1. Classic Mode Deck revision and new Reward Card events
2. Change Pick Card grade standards (e.g., 30/100/200/500/1000)
3. Add new relics matching the new grade system
4. Add Menhera Mode Version 1

Further adding features and refining based on feedback so far.

  • Final boss is now immune to 'Frozen', which trivialized phase 1
  • During a scene where Keena goes to sleep made sure to place her at her bed
  • Added a reminder to the first boss to switch targets as it is necessary to defeat it
  • Fixed an issue where the camera would glitch out
  • Refined the new dynamic camera with a new pivot point to keep Keena in the center of the screen
  • Removed the ability to open certain menus when not in control of the PC
  • New performant blur effect for dialogue
  • Players can now choose to enter a level from any checkpoints they have reached prior
  • Made sure the spell plate UI only appears during combat
  • Made sure all cinematic cameras have a black BG
  • Any active followers will now teleport to Keena upon entering a new zone, instead of their initial spawn point

New Features

Content
- Added 'Boss Rush', containing new story content and character-exclusive bosses can be fought by either character.
Unlocked on Stage Select after beating Soleil for the first time.
- Added 'Another Dream', containing new story content. Unlocked on Stage Select after beating Soleil in Boss Rush.
- Added Style selector for Hazel, allowing players to wear any costume on levels.*
- Added a new 'Training' tutorial Level for Axel that teaches Comet Arts.

*The game must be cleared first.

Improvements
- The game now supports up to 3 distinct save files.
- Story Progress %, last save version, as well as date/time are now displayed in save file.
- Clearing levels/reading Talk Room content unlocks character dioramas on save slots. Artwork is different for each slot.
- Training Missions are now replayable. You can find them on Stage Select.
- Complete overhaul of controller support. All official controllers are now natively compatible with the game.
- New Controller Icon options can be used. The game also auto-detects input type.
- Triggers can now be mapped when playing on controller.

Bug Fixes

- Fixed a bug where run Time isn't properly taken into account on the Results Screen
- Fixed a bug where run Time doesn't reset after moving from a level to a boss
- Fixed a bug where Hazel didn't animate properly during a cutscene
- Fixed a bug where enemies would sometimes get stuck in the ground when landing
- Made it possible to return inbounds in case of OoB during boss fights.
- Changed Skill Guide video format to be compatible with Steam Deck/Proton
- Player Character will not execute mapped action (i.e. Jumping) when pressing confirm at the end of a cutscene

Gameplay/Balance

- New Axel skill is unlocked when clearing Boss Rush as Axel*
- New Hazel skill is unlocked when clearing Boss Rush as Hazel*
- Rebalanced Axel's normal attacks, making them faster.
- Raphi no longer uses spread shots during her 2nd boss fight, as it was redundant.

IMPORTANT: *Clearing "Another Dream" is not required to unlock the skills.

UI

- Language Options menu moved to Title Screen so it's easier to find.
- Revamped Stage Select menu. Page navigation is made easier by pressing left and right on the controller.
- Renamed and relabeled Tutorial levels to 'Training' levels.
- Improved Hazel's Ghost Crescent icon.
- Disables Hazel's pause menu widgets when Restarting Level.
- Fixed 'Restart Level' so it can't be cancelled during the animation.
- Redesigned Input Settings menu*

*Inputs will have to be set again.

Story

- Fixed typos.
- Added 21 new Talk Room entries.
- Re-organized Talk Room order to improve clarity.
- Slightly changed a few dialogues to improve clarity.
- New story content in Boss Rush + Another Dream modes.

Misc

- Added a Transgender Pride Flag to Shouko's container
