Like a wave of fresh air Aquamarine has arrived. A brand new gem type that will make sure each game truly feels unique and different. More gem types will be added following the launch. Another big addition is the introduction of skill based matchmaking. Players will be matched with a player of equal skill and the search range dynamically expands. Apart from that I have fixed a number of bugs, polished the gem selection and optimized the matchmaking under the hood.
Features
Aquamarine, a complete new gem type, has been added to the game.
Players are matched with other players of comparable rating. The search expands gradually if no player of similar rating is found initially.
The Student Rank leaderboard will only update if you improve your rank. This way you can keep trying to push your peak without having to fear dropping in the ladder. (Keep in mind that you can play against Sokras while waiting in the online matchmaking queue.)
Quality of Life
When exiting from a running game, you can now do so via the “concede” button. It will announce the concession and take you to the end game screen where you can look at the decks and rating change (depending on the game mode).
Polish
Optimizations of the matchmaking process for quick and reliable performance.
When socketing gems, the tooltip now immediately disappears when not hovering the gem anymore. This way it doesn’t interfere with gem selection anymore which could cause miss clicks.
Bug Fixes
In online multiplayer, at the end of a turn, if the decks, hands or discard piles are out of sync, they will be resynced and a log entry will be created for debugging. A sound effect is played so beta testers will take note and can report the bug.
Rating changes should now adjust and display correctly.
The effect display announcement no longer gets stuck on some ability usage in online multiplayer.
Tweaked displaying of error messages and general handling in varying game modes when trying to play a skill without sufficient power or invalid target.
Should the game end because of depletion of the gem card deck, the Gembearer name will be logged correctly.
Extort now uses the game seed to determine the discarded card, avoiding desyncs in online multiplayer.
Airship and Electrify don’t play the Source going to discard pile animation in online multiplayer for the inactive player.

Added in paint fill tolerance in the button "W" settings. Fixed FPS in some places (which was the cause of crash errors). More previewable features.
For the paint fill to not freeze some times, you'll need a super fast computer from the future. There is no solution yet for plusing a stack in this engine by 1 pixel on large canvases.
The Emperor and State has now been updated to version 0.46. If you encounter any bugs or issues in the game, please use the in-game feedback feature or discuss them on our Discord.
Improving
Replaced the old granary efficiency system with an all-new Grain Reserve system: 1. Percentages have been replaced with specific numerical values; 2. The Ministry of Revenue now includes [Grain Allocation] and [Tax Grain Settings] functions; 3. Land tax has been separated from industry tax — it now affects public support and poverty rates, while industry tax no longer affects public support; 4. Military expeditions are now constrained by supply lines.
Improved power consumption calculations on the strategic map to reduce lag in the late game when the map becomes large.
Improved the childhood portraits UI for imperial princes.
Various minor UI and system refinements.
