Spring has certainly sprung in our neck of the woods. Everything is greening up, flowers are in bloom, and the allergies are off the charts! Lots of interesting things going on behind the scenes as of late - hopefully some of that comes to fruition and we can share the details in later months. We know things are a bit chaotic in the world right now as well, so we do hope that Terraria can at least provide an area of respite for everyone. We also know that releasing the update would certainly help in that regard. We are doing all that we can to not only get this one done, but also plan a bit ahead to streamline things for down the road - but that's a story for another time. For now, let's dig in to the latest news from the world of Terraria!
What awaits us in this month's State of the Game?
PC - RE-LOGIC
TERRARIA - THE (PRE) FIX IS IN!
We know that many Terrarians greatly enjoy playing the Summoner class, but we also know that many players have felt that Summoner lags behind the other classes in regards to equipment and other aspects. One key missing piece has been the lack of weapon prefixes for Summoner weapons. In Terraria 1.4.5, we are finally addressing this with the addition of a suite of brand new Summoner weapon prefixes!
Give those minions the extra competitive edge that they need with new Summoner Prefixes!

TMODLOADER NEWS - TML TEAM
Hello everyone!
On May 1st the monthly update release of tModLoader will go live. We are once again grateful for the massive amount of community participation in developing and testing new features each month.
This month's release contains several notable features that mod makers can look forward to. Features include brand new support for biome conversions and custom ID sets as well as improved support for custom tile drawing and tile entities.
Modders and users should also keep an eye out for our monthly Steam announcement on the 1st where a complete listing of bug fixes and API changes for this month's release will be listed. The in-game news button on the main menu will direct you directly to the announcement once it is live.
As always, if you are having issues of any sort, definitely don't hesitate to check out our FAQ on github or reach out to us at our Discord.

WHAT'S NEXT FOR TML?
More features, continuing to evolve and grow what TML can do... and getting ready for 1.4.5.
As always, you can keep track the current progress and much more in real time at tModLoader/tModLoader (But note that the completion percentage doesn't mean anything, because issues and PRs don't have weights.)
PlayStation, XBOX, Nintendo Switch, Mobile - DR STUDIOS
Hello Terrarians!
Another month of steady progress towards the release of Terraria 1.4.5 is in the books! In addition, we have been able to conduct a lot of planning for what comes next after 1.4.5, and we feel like that will pay dividends moving forward for sure. With that said, we are pleased to be able to share one of the cool facelifts coming in 1.4.5 - the Dungeon Entrance has received a brand new look...
There is another new variation, but we will keep that to ourselves for now... and don't worry, the classic entrance to the Dungeon is still in the game.

Until next time, Console & Mobile friends - thanks for all of your love and support!

TERRARIA - THE BOARD GAME UPDATE
Hello Terrarians!
Chris here, lead developer at Paper Fort Games. In this month’s Terraria: The Board Game designer diary, we’ve got a little surprise for backers of the world playmat, our latest (and most colourful!) box organiser samples and some excellent new Boss art from George.
If you missed the campaign but would like to get your hands on the game, don’t worry! Late pledges are now available by clicking the link below...
PLAYMAT CARRY BAG During the campaign, we said that the world playmat would ship in a cardboard tube which could also be used to store it. This was true at the time, but over the past couple of months we’ve been working on something a little snazzier; a custom Terraria carry bag that will be included with every world playmat!
The bag features the Terraria logo embroidered in gold thread, an adjustable carry handle and a drawstring closure - it's perfect for slinging over your shoulder and heading to game night (or as a quiver for your Jester’s Arrows!).
---
COLOURED PLASTIC ORGANIZER TRAYS Last month, we shared a render of the game’s coloured trays; the physical samples arrived in the office this week and we’re really happy with them. Not only do they add an exciting pop of colour to the box, they aid organisation by making each tray more easily identifiable.
---
CARD + BIOME TILE TRAY WHITE SAMPLES In previous updates, you’ve seen the game's card and biome tile trays as grey plastic 3D prints. We recently received the cardboard versions which are sturdy and work really nicely. These will be fully printed; in the image below you’ll see a small hand-made mockup of the crate art that will cover the boxes. Not only with these have the Terraria crate vibe - the labels will help us to simplify organisation by reminding players of which cards are stored in which location.
---
BOSS AND ALLY ART George is in the process of wrapping up paint-overs of the game’s Boss miniatures and ally tokens. These pieces of art will appear on the game’s Boss cards, and they also serve as a great colour reference if you’re thinking about painting your miniatures!
---
DICE TRAY SAMPLE The dice tray sample arrived this week; it’s easy to store and assemble, and the artwork really pops! We’re discussing with the manufacturer about the viability of using invisible stitching in place of the black stitching shown on the sample.
--- GAME DEVELOPMENT NEWS Here’s what we’ve been focusing on this month:
The major rulebook overhaul continues; we've received initial comments from playtesters and are making improvements and clarifications based on this feedback. We’ll publish it for backers to read as soon as it’s ready (and less ugly!).
‘Blind’ playtesting is ongoing; the game is being playtested by groups playing the game based solely on the updated rulebook.
Removal of half-blocks from the game has been well received by playtesters; George has just finished re-working the biome tile art to account for this.
The ‘objective focus’ token (added to increase interactivity and planning between players) is serving its proposed function, but needs a couple of small changes to really shine.
Alternate objectives have been tested and enjoyed; we're adjusting some but overall they are adding the desired variability game-to-game.
Simplification of enemy retaliation rules has been successful; less dice rolling is saving time!
Further updates to boss rules, spawn criteria and behaviours to streamline boss battles.
--- A NOTE ON US TARIFFS You can read our mini-update published earlier this month for information on US tariffs; discussions are ongoing with Re-Logic, with our manufacturing team and with fulfilment partners to find the best way forward. We'll keep you in the loop via State of the Game and Kickstarter updates, so keep an eye out!
The Terraria community is filled with incredible fan media. We love to browse Terraria associated social pages and check out the creative minds sharing wonderful creations. We wanted to spotlight some of the trending media that caught our attention this month. Please let us know if any of the shared media has a different original creator.

TERRARIA CELESTIAL CLASH EVENT
On April 1st, the Terraria community on Discord erupted into organized chaos as all members were suddenly drafted into a surprise server-wide showdown: the Celestial Clash. Players were assigned one of four celestial pillar roles, Solar, Vortex, Nebula, or Stardust, and sent into themed channels to represent their faction in a battle of pure messaging might. As the Moon Lord invaded the general chat, the only way to fight back was through conversation, creativity, and channel domination. Over the course of just 24 hours, Terrarians rallied to send over 132,000 messages, showcasing not just their competitive spirit, but their boundless energy and love for the game.
When the dust settled, it was the Vortex Pillar that claimed the title of champion, contributing a staggering 47,000+ messages alone. All participants in the Vortex Clash were awarded a limited-time role flair to commemorate their victory, and top contributors from all factions received additional recognition for their valiant efforts. Whether you were defending the Nebula realm or leading the Solar frontlines, this event proved just how electric the Terraria community can be when united under one banner (or four).
TERRARIA VANITY CONTEST
Earlier this month, our Discord server kicked off a no-theme Vanity Contest where players submitted their most creative character looks. Submissions closed April 16 and voting has officially ended! Thank you to everyone who participated and cast their vote. We’ll be sharing the winners in the next State of the Game!
TERRARIA STREAM PICNIC
On April 19, the Terraria Discord community gathered for a laid-back Stream Picnic event, where members took turns showcasing their favorite games live in voice chat. With 12-minute stream slots and open participation, it was a great way to share beloved titles, discover new ones, and connect over a shared love of gaming. Thanks to everyone who streamed, watched, and made it such a cozy success!
TERRARIA MEME CONTEST
The Terraria Meme Contest is now underway, and we’re calling on all creative Terrarians to show us your best original memes! Whether it’s a hilarious in-game moment or a brilliant Terraria pun, we want to see it. Submissions must be related to Terraria and follow our server rules, any image or video format that embeds properly is welcome!
The top three memes will win big, with the first-place prize earning 25,000 Prize Points and the Event Winner role. Everyone who participates gets 500 Prize Points just for entering, so there’s no reason not to join the fun!
The contest runs through April 30, so get your memes in before time runs out.
Space Rangers HD: A War Apart is on an 85% discount now until May 5, to celebrate a new space-bound strategy game by Fulqrum Publishing leaving Early Access. While, of course, Space Rangers are set in a futuristic universe where space-faring races are abundant and form galactic empires, in Realpolitiks 3: Earth and Beyond you take control of a contemporary country on Earth and eventually lead it to colonizing the rest of the Solar system.
The discount is not the only boon we bring you today however, as we have also prepared a bundle with the newly released Grand Strategy! The Beyond War and Politics Bundle allows you to not only get a neat extra 10% discount on the two games when bought together, but if you already own one of them, you still get that same extra 10% off on the other - that applies on top of the aforementioned 85% discount on Space Rangers HD: A War Apart as well as the current 20% discount on Realpolitiks 3: Earth and Beyond - and that's a hell of a deal, don't you think?
Requisitions are sets of unlockable gear and cosmetics in FBC: Firebreak. Play the game, earn currency (Lost Assets), and use them to unlock what you want. No timed battle passes, no pressure!
There are two types of Requisitions in the game.
Requisition is a set of items that can include weapons, equipment and cosmetic items including armor pieces and sprays that players can unlock with in-game currency. Play the game, unlock stuff. Simple.
Classified Requisitions are a set of premium cosmetic items such as armor sets, sprays and weapon skins. Classified Requisitions are bought with real money. The items contained in Classified Requisitions have no impact on gameplay.
How They Work
Earn Lost Assets by completing Jobs.
Spend them to unlock items in any Requisition you have acquired.
Unlocking items isn’t fully linear; rather, you can choose what you want to unlock.
You can progress multiple Requisitions at once.
All requisitions are permanently available in the game, so you can unlock and progress at your own pace.
Gear up, stand out, and make every Job your own. Your Firebreaker, your way.

Ah, wanderers of the realm – lend me your eyes, for the lands of Darfall are changing.
In preparation for release, we’ve reforged the very face of the world you’ll explore. Our artisans have been hard at work reshaping buildings, terrain, and even the heroes who tread these cursed soils - all to better capture the grim majesty of Darfall’s dark fantasy heart.
Architecture Reborn: Rougher, Heavier
Gone are the clean-cut lines and polished shine of a fledgling world. The buildings and characters now bear the grime of survival - their textures weathered by time, ash, and war.
Walls now look like they’ve stood against countless undead sieges. Heroes wear armor scuffed and worn from battle, their cloaks dragging the dust behind them. These aren’t stylized dolls — they are warriors, survivors, engineers, and outcasts.
Old Look: New Look: And when you gaze upon your settlement… you’ll feel it: Darfall is not a place of comfort. It is a place of defiance.
Old Look: New Look:
Terrain Overhaul – Painting a Harsh World
The land itself has grown wiser. We’ve revisited all terrain textures to make each environment feel more grounded, more tactile, and more befitting a world where demons stalk the forests and snow falls on forgotten graves.
Old Look: New Look:
Grass no longer glows like a children’s tale - it now crunches beneath boots, coarse and real.
Dirt paths are muddier, cracked, and true to their biomes.
Snow doesn’t rest softly anymore - it presses, weighs, and reminds you that warmth is a luxury.
Old Look: New Look:
Environmental Details
It’s not just the mountains and rivers that shape a land, but the little things.
We’re weaving in environmental storytelling through new props and details, like:
Moss-covered stumps in the swamps
Frozen lilies in the highlands
Sunken boats in murky waters
Mushrooms, rocks, and logs hinting at a forgotten past
Each zone now feels like it has a history — quiet, buried, waiting to be uncovered.
Performance First
You might be wondering: “What about performance?”
Every visual change has been built with optimization in mind. These updates are not just for looks - they’re built to run better, not worse.
Expect smoother performance and higher fidelity. No trade-offs here - your armies will march, your hammers will fall, and your frames will hold.
A Glimpse Into the Swamp and Winter
Below are a few early shots from our Swamp and Winter biome overhauls. Pay attention to the color grading, the layering, and how it all comes together into a world that feels bleak, real, and alive. More biomes to come as we continue to shape Darfall into what it’s meant to be: bold, unflinching, and beautifully bleak.
