[Update Summary] 1. New Events 2. New Object: Ancient Box 3. New Item: Ancient Key 4. New Content: Black Dragon's Battlefield 5. Improvements to Domination Server and Tower of Black Dragon 6. Updates to the Yellow Dragon Wayfarer Crafting Item List
- All buildings spawned lock to a grid - Ground units are easier to spawn when next to a ledge - No more armored units - No more piercing attacks - Salt Cannon is selectable from the main menu normally again - Gnole is no longer a secret menu variant to the Gnome - Koo Koo Squid is now a secret menu variant of the Jellimoa - Made various performance updates including: - Handling unit collisions - Drawing team PB and Jelly units to the screen
------------------------------------------------------------------ HOW TO SELECT HIDDEN UNITS ------------------------------------------------------------------
- SECRET MENU VARIANTS are now picked by holding the right select button ('Right Bumper' for Xbox controllers) then pressing the pick button on the menu. You can also see the secret menu stats when holding right select. - The SPREAD REAPER now requires a "cheat code" to select. The cheat code is to hold the left select button ('Left Bumper' for Xbox controllers) then pressing the the teleport button three times in a row ('X' for Xbox controllers) on any unit in the select menu. After selected the Reaper it won't appear that you have selected it on screen. HOWEVER, this is merely to trick your opponent into thinking you selected a normal unit. When you spawn that unit in the battle a Spread Reaper will appear instead of the unit you appeared to select.
Rorbeetle - No longer Stingproof (this ability was removed from the game)
Queen - Slowed down attack rate from 2 seconds to 5 seconds - Lowered HP from 100 to 80
Honey Cannon - Honey goop no longer causes units to take more damage when inflicted. The only effect the goop causes is lowering speed and attack Rate
Gatling Apple - Decreased size to fit in grid system
Salt Cannon - Replaced Bounty Collector ability with Salt Rush ability. Now whenever an enemy Captain is taken down from a Salt Cannon your Captain will glow white for 5 seconds. For these 5 seconds all non-building units have their prices reduced by half for that time period
Drone - Increased cost from $750 to $1000 - Sped up attack rate from 3 seconds to 2 seconds
Termite - Increased cost from $1250 to $1500 - Removed Sticky-proof and Tough Skin abilities - Added Sweet Tooth ability which allows Termites to bypass the Cloy ability (essentially they can eat through Honey Cannons fast) - NOTE: Termites will remain Garlicproof unlike Ants
Sprost - Increased cost from $1750 to $2000 - Decreased HP from 20 to 10 - Buffed attack so it instantly destroys all buildings on contact including Toast, Salt Cannons, etc. - Added Nullification ability which negates price debuffs (essentially Muffins don't cause Sprosts to go up in price)
Nest - Increased cost from $3000 to $4000
Termite Mound - Increased cost from $5000 to $6000
Void - Increased cost from $7000 to $8000
Tuna in a Can - Decreased size to fit in grid system
Trick or Treat Bag -> Banana Split - Was reskinned to be a Banana Split (and is the Side Menu counterpart to the Bananalista)
------------------------------------------------------------------ NEW UNITS ------------------------------------------------------------------
Gnird - Secret menu variant to the Gnome - Is a slower and less powerful Gnome that can fly
Gnurse - Secret menu variant to the Gnole - Casts a spell to heal nearby ally units
Muffin - Secret menu variant to the Cupcake - A sturdy wall that makes non-food units more expensive - TIP: Best paired with other food type units
Grub Father - Secret menu variant to the Rorbeetle - Has the bulkiness of a Rorbeetle, the DPS of an Ant, and heals itself when inside a garlic cloud. Must hatch from an egg.
YOLO - Secret menu variant to the UFO - A much stronger and more extreme verision of the UFO. Practically invinsible, but takes 5 minutes to hatch and while in egg form it cuts your income in half
Honey Pot - Secret menu variant to the Honey Cannon - Lowers the cost of all bug units by 1% per Honey Pot placed - NOTE: This is very similar to the Hivemind unit from an older version of the game
Apple Pie - Secret menu variant to the Gatling Apple - Support unit that gives you double the income that one Piggy Bank gives you
Sriracha Cannon - Secret menu variant to the Garl-ICBM - Inflicts targets with corrosive goop that causes targets to take 50% extra damage (rounding up to the nearest whole number) when attacked - NOTE: The Sriracha Cannon no longer shoots fire attacks like it did in previous versions of the game
Pepper Cannon - Secret menu variant to the Salt Cannon - Same thing as a Salt Cannon but your captain glows black for 5 seconds and reduces the cost of all non-troop units by half for that time period
Localization of menu text and subtitles have been added for Spanish and German. There will be mistakes as I don't speak either of these languages, but I wanted to try to get this update out as quickly as possible.
As you go through the game, if you happen to find an error in the language you are playing, I encourage you to submit a proper translation to the Discord I setup. Here is the invitation link: https://discord.gg/NXeDU93q
Thank you all for the support and kind words so far and I hope to continue to make the updates you all suggest!
- Miscellaneous UI updates - Some work on character animation (notice they cheer now when selecting characters) - Menu bug fixes for multiplayer scenarios
This month marks the one-year anniversary of Nasty Zombies, and we're celebrating in the best way possible — with a brand new map: The Backrooms.
Now, I know what you're thinking — this isn't The Farm. That’s still on the way and very much in progress. But in the meantime, The Backrooms should give you something fresh (and freaky) to sink your teeth into.
This isn’t just a reskin of The Church. The Backrooms plays completely differently. There are no waves. No breaks. Just floors — and your goal? Descend as deep as you can into the endless, ever-changing maze.
Each floor brings new layouts, new tension, and new challenges. The deeper you go, the more unstable the environment becomes. Will you adapt... or will you become just another lost soul wandering the yellow halls?
In other news...
You can now double tap and hold the weapon switch button to continuously cycle through your weapons.
1. Version update gives 10,000 experience points. 2. Level cap increased by 2 levels, with 2 new training dummies: Janna and Sona. These can be obtained after upgrading from the original level. 3. Optimization: 4 training dummies without skills have been added to the custom mode. 4. Optimization: BGM will now pause when the game is paused. 5. Optimization: The mouse will no longer be restricted to the game window when the game is paused. (Tip: Hold down the Alt key to free the mouse in-game.) 6. Removed some debug remnants from development. 7. Fixed the daily first-game reward notification bug.
Updated power outage graphics, making them reflect when the power is out in Week 4.
Fixed various typos and grammatical errors.
Added character-specific narration boxes.
Clarified dialogue where characters besides Neku speak while not on screen.
Adjusted the history UI to use non-Neku names when appropriate.
We noticed people referencing a specific scene where Neku appears to say Chloe's dialogue. This has been patched, as well as some similar occurrences at other points in the game. Thanks to everyone who brought this to our attention; we appreciate the speculation!
We promised Update 1.1.0 in March. Unfortunately, the scope of the update was too large for the time we had, so we wanted to release a minor update in the meantime. We appreciate your patience and understanding in waiting for the update.
