RailGods of Hysterra - Digital Vortex Entertainment
When the Great Old Ones returned, the world was shattered. Billions perished. The survivors? Scattered, half-mad, clinging to remnants of reason. Time, space, and even memory were twisted under the will of ancient gods who reshaped Earth beyond recognition.
The gods divided what remained among themselves and each began terraforming their territory to their liking.
Yet not all was lost.
Before the world fell, one man, H. P. Lovecraft, saw the signs of the impending doom. He gathered Dreamers from across the globe; visionaries, mystics, and outcasts, all united by a single purpose: to save humanity. Together, they hid themselves in mausoleums and crypts, suspended themselves in a supernatural sleep, and descended into the Dreamlands. There, beyond the reach of the Great Old Ones, they sought knowledge from ancient priests, brilliant polymaths, and forgotten professors, until finally, in the city of Sarkomand they forged a plan. The plan was the Eternal Railways and the instrument of that salvation?
The RailGod.
Born of Dreamland knowledge and bound in steel and shoggoth-plasm, the RailGod is no mere machine, it is a living god forged for one purpose: to carve a path of survival through a world consumed by madness.
And now, the time has come.
On April 23rd, the Dreamers shall awaken. The RailGod will rise.
And salvation shall thunder across the rails of Hysterra.
The Monolith is a strange and complex structure, full of lost secrets and technological advancements alien to The Company’s expedition team. While people like Dr Maria Thornton are studying things from afar, to truly understand the Monolith you’ll need to venture inside. And to do that, you will need a Cartogram…
Cartograms
Cartograms are the levels that you play through while exploring the Monolith. You can think of these as “blueprints.” Empyreal’s levels aren’t procedurally generated and are exclusively hand-crafted for that more curated touch. However, the Cartograms determine the loot available in each level, add some random factors that diversify play, as well as decide the overall level of challenge presented, resulting in a different experience every single time.
You carry Cartograms in your inventory and there are two types: ones received from quest NPCs, such as Edmund Reyne, and ones dropped from defeated enemies. The latter will have their loot, Quadrant type, level, boss, elemental effects, and other elements randomised, while the former is the same for all players. You can see these elements when selecting a Cartogram in your Inventory, or at the Cartogram Portal, allowing you to focus on any specific loot that suits your build.
Cartograms have finite uses: you can unlock checkpoints and make use of a fixed number of Reset Charges should you die, but once your Cartogram attempt is over (whether you succeed or fail) you can trade or gift your Cartograms to other players using the Trading Post or Mailbox in the Command Centre.
Some Cartograms are also significantly harder than others, with enhanced loot available. But fear not: if all looks lost, you can abandon a Cartogram and sacrifice all loot gained on that attempt, allowing you to retry it again later when you are stronger.
Quadrants
Think of Quadrants as different biomes. The Monolith is home to four Quadrants in total: Man & Church, Mind & Truth, Word & Life, and Depth & Silence. Each Quadrant is home to several distinct levels for you to explore, determined by the Cartogram you use. During your adventure, unearth items called Curios to piece together the history of these ancient locations and learn of the people who once resided in them.

As a Wild Ten Pilot, it’s good to get to grips with your partner in battle—the War Robot. With 18 War Robots to choose from, each with their own unique attributes, picking the best ally for each fight is crucial.
Meet Ravana, the bodyguard War Robot with a penchant for protection.
COMBAT ANALYSIS
War Robot Model: Ravana
Class: Defender
Dominion: Freecon
This Defender ClassWar Robot is not well-suited for direct combat, but has one impressive trick up its sleeve. Ravana can project a cone-shaped area in front of it, granting damage absorption to allies inside (and itself). This provides an excellent opportunity for your team to advance on the enemy as a coordinated unit, or retreat together to regroup and restrategize.
UNDER THE HOOD
Make the most of your Ravana by learning about its Core Gear and recommended Weapons, Supply Gear, and Cycle Gear.
Don’t forget—you can always customise your Ravana War Robot with your favorite elements!
Guardian Matrix (Core Gear): Allies in front of you take less damage for a short time. You cannot be destroyed while any ally is affected by this.
Magneto (Light Weapon — Blast/Artillery): Launches a magnetic projectile that sticks to your target. Fire, hit your mark, and move on.
Nanite Repair (Cycle Gear): Repairs all Module armor.
Sprint Reactor (Supply Gear): Speeds you up a great deal for a short duration.
– Realistic modeling with over 100 custom modelled buildings. – Detailed ground polygon model including taxiway bridges – Updated selection of Radar screens. – Modelled Taxi signs. – Updated taxi light models that follow the curve of the lines and wigwag lights placed at runway entrances. – Dynamic runway approach lighting with runway sequenced flashers. – Beautiful background cityscape from OSM (open street maps).
In Cubic Odyssey, QB-1 is your trusted companion from the very beginning. This drone provides you with essential starter gear: a basic extractor, a workbench, and a weapon—everything you need to survive. Additionally, QB-1 is always ready to guide you by providing information on your current objective, helping you navigate the world.
QB-1 is also invaluable for resource gathering. At your request, it can scan the terrain and highlight ore deposits, even if they are underground. However, don’t forget to use your character’s built-in scanner while mining underground—it will help you locate valuable resources nearby. You can upgrade QB-1 by installing three key modules:
Stun Stick – Enhances QB-1’s damage, attack range, and critical hit chance. The drone can stun enemies, giving you a tactical advantage in combat.
Drone Scanner – Increases the range for detecting ore deposits.
PMU (Power Management Unit) – Manages the drone’s energy regeneration, extending its operational time.
Upgrade QB-1 to make it an even more reliable and efficient ally on your adventure!
We are pleased to announce that the next update for UBOAT is now available for download.
Below is a quick overview of the changes included.
Reworked Deck Awash Mode
We've reworked the deck awash mode to provide a more realistic experience. When activated, the crew now floods the bow and stern ballast tanks, keeping the U-boat partially submerged.
In this mode, it's possible to walk on the conning tower, provided weather conditions are favorable, but not on the deck. Additionally, diving from this mode is quicker.
However, using this mode reduces both speed and fuel efficiency significantly. It also makes ventilating the U-boat more challenging due to a risk of flooding.
Adjustable Realism Settings
By popular request, realism settings can now be adjusted during a playthrough, with all changes reflected immediately. If you change your mind about any settings, it's no longer a requirement to restart the game.
The only exception is for those attempting to obtain the "Ace of the Depths" achievement. Changing realism settings during this attempt is restricted, as doing so would reduce the challenge required. If your game is eligible for this achievement, you will be asked for confirmation before any changes are applied.
More Frequent Encounters
This version introduces a new realism setting, along with its associated mechanic, to increase the frequency of ship encounters at sea. It was primarily designed for newer players but may also appeal to hardcore players seeking more action.
By default, all ships in the world are simulated minding their own business without taking our U-Boats into consideration. This ensures a coherent and realistic baseline but carries the drawback that, despite playing optimally, you might experience extended periods without encountering ships if you simply have bad luck and look in the wrong areas.
With this new setting activated, the game will periodically generate additional ships to appear at opportune moments, ensuring continuous engagement. These ships can appear either as visual or hydrophone contacts, but always in a manner that maintains coherence. They will not appear in locations you've recently checked.
This setting is now enabled by default on non-hardcore realism presets.
GOG Updates
This update also introduces achievements to the GOG platform. The Supporter Pack DLC will also appear there shortly.

New Features: - Reworked the Deck Awash mode with a more realistic implementation. When activated, the crew now floods the bow and stern ballast tanks, keeping the U-boat partially submerged. Additionally, it's now possible to manually order partial flooding or blowing of tanks on the valves. It's possible to walk on the conning tower in this mode, if weather conditions are good, but not on the deck. It's also faster to dive from it. Use of this mode comes at a cost of a much lower speed and fuel efficiency. It also makes it harder to ventilate the U-Boat without flooding. - Added a new optional mechanic that increases frequency of encounters on the sea, by generating additional groups that are less challenging to locate. It's possible to configure it in the realism settings of the game. - Added achievement support and introduced the Supporter Pack in GOG Galaxy. - Introduced the ability to adjust realism settings during a playthrough with changes applied in real-time. A warning is displayed if the changes affect eligibility for the "Ace of the Depths" achievement.
Crew: - If the captain is wounded or away on an external mission, another officer is now issuing all orders. - Fix: The captain no longer verbally cancels silent running mode during the quick return to port cutscene if it was previously active. - Fix: Resolved an issue due to which crew members that entered ragdoll state in a certain spot of battery room no. 1 could sometimes fall through the floor and eventually drown on Type VII U-Boats.
Graphics: - Fix: Sun lens flare is now properly occluded by clouds. - Fix: Fixed flickering horizon visuals occurring when raising the free camera above a certain altitude. - Fix: Corrected an issue causing sun lens flare to briefly shift positions on-screen after using the time skip feature. - Fix (regression of 2025.1): Resolved an issue where bow spray effects were visible after loading a saved game, despite the U-boat being fully submerged. - Fix (regression of 2025.1 Patch 9): Rain particles could spawn under roofs.
UI: - Added a notification to inform the player about attacking a friendly unit and explain the associated consequences. - Fix: It was possible to see NPC U-Boats outside the sight range after pressing ALT.
Missions: - Added a new objective in the weather station placement assignments that reminds about picking up the deployed group from land. - Fix: It was possible to receive attack on Scapa Flow assignment right after completing the tutorials.
Technical: - Fix: Addressed one more issue preventing game state saving under certain conditions.
General: - Compressed air reserves are now automatically refilled during quick returns to port. - Realism preset selection is now a requirement when starting a campaign for the first time and all settings are on the defaults (the "Skip" button doesn't appear in such a case). - Fix: Eliminated a delay causing crew portraits to appear approximately two seconds after loading a saved game, accompanied by noticeable performance lag. - Fix: It's no longer possible to send a team to a merchant ship that is burning. The restriction on partially sunk ships was also increased. - Fix: Eliminated incorrect reports of "smoke on the horizon" when observing units that do not produce considerable smoke (e.g., other U-boats or fishing boats). - Fix: Extended the transmission duration of radio messages sent by command after attacking a friendly unit, ensuring players can receive the message even after prolonged dives.[/expand] Yours, DWS
We are thrilled to announce that a new free major update for Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector is available from today, introducing 2 new playable units, a signficant faction refresh for the Sisters of Battle and a new visual face for Planetary Supremacy.
New forces for the Astra Militarum
Today's update will bring new units for the Astra Militarum faction: Leman Russ with Battlecannon and Cadian Sergeant.
Cadian Sergeant
Due to their role as both leaders and instructors, sergeants in the Astra Militarum are expected to lead from the front, driving their troops to feats of valour and glory. A good sergeant can keep a squad together even under the most dire of circumstances, using their command skills and the earned trust of their troops to quell fear and rally shaken guardsmen under their command.
Leman Russ Battle Tank
The Battle cannon is a larger and heavier version of the autocannon, its size restricting its use to vehicles only. It is the primary weapon of the Leman Russ Battle Tank. It is a formidable weapon whose shells can deal significant damage from a long distance against both vehicle and infantry targets. The sheer power of this weapon makes it an excellent addition to the Astra Militarum's arsenal.
