DCS Update
Development Progress



Mission State Save is a new feature permitting you to create and fly scenarios over several sessions whilst preserving and carrying forward mission progress, without the need for complex scripting. Mission Save works by generating a new mission file at any point during the flight. The generated save mission carries over the date and time, all units state and location in addition to other mission state relevant parameters.

We are releasing this feature as early Work-in-Progress to gather your feedback to help us refine and prioritise future improvements. We are also looking forward to requests from script creators.

New Campaigns
Included is the new DCS: F/A-18C The Rampagers by Baltic Dragon, offering modern naval aviation on the USS Harry S. Truman, and the DCS: Mosquito FB MkVI Freeman’s Folly Campaign by SUNTS, featuring WWII missions based on historical squadron records and weather data.

DCS Core Updates
AI Aircraft improvements include several changes to aircraft flight and formation behavior and helicopter attack patterns. Certain AI aircraft received changes to their loadouts offering more accurate weapon support.

AI Ships and Ground vehicles have received some improved effects notably the addition of a lighter grey smoke to designate vehicle damage at 50-25% of its HP. This combines with the existing more pronounced smoke effect for vehicle damage ´near death’ of 25%-0% HP.

Weapons updates include significant changes to the AIM-120 missile’s fuzing logic and conical proximity sensor pattern. The R-24 missile has undergone a comprehensive overhaul, covering aerodynamics, motor performance, warhead configuration, and guidance. Several surface-to-air and anti-ship missiles, such as the Hawk MIM-23, Kh-25MPU, Kh-22, and MIM-72G on Chaparral, have received adjustments to their flight characteristics, drag profiles, and/or guidance.
Core, GUI, and Mission Editor changes addressing longer mission load times or delays when occupying multiplayer slots have been implemented. Various interface issues such as the ESC menu failing to appear under certain conditions, F10 map zoom lock issue, and some dynamic spawn at FARP issues, have also been resolved. The Mission Editor now provides better sound file handling, more icons in draw tools and new absolute mission time trigger type.

Other fixes and additions involve model and visual tweaks for multiple units, including adjustments to recoil effects, dust visibility, and collision models. Certain 3D missile models details have been updated. The encyclopedia entries have been expanded to include the SA-5 (S-200) site and updated AIM-9 Sidewinder information. An IR jammer issue on the Su-25T has also been corrected to ensure it only affects missiles in the tail aspect.

A known issue remains where unusually large explosion craters can appear in rare instances. The development team is actively investigating and working on a fix.
Module Updates

For the F-16C Viper, the TGP target tracking jitter issue that had been affecting precision strikes has been addressed. IR missile detection problems have been resolved, ensuring proper threat awareness before launch. Additionally, the CCIP bomb aiming calculations have been corrected, improving ground attack accuracy.
F/A-18C has received fixes to its speedbrake compensation system when using the EXTEND button. The RAID antenna elevation displays now show correct information, and the anomalous drag properties associated with the BRU-41 weapon racks have been eliminated.

Some important improvements to the AH-64D have been implemented. Multicrew operations now benefit from enhanced FCR synchronization, while the position hold function no longer exhibits oscillation problems. George AI has received a comprehensive update with revised engagement ranges and burst intervals for more effective gun employment. Two longstanding issues—wheels sinking into terrain and No-Fly Zone desynchronization in multi crew—have also been addressed.

The Mi-24P Hind has gained new capabilities with the addition of SYNC mode for the ASP-17 gunsight and R-60 missiles that now properly react to flares before launch. You will also notice that landing gear problems following repairs have been corrected.

The Ka-50 Black Shark 3 ABRIS map labels have been corrected. The Shkval targeting offset issues, and mirror reflections during rainfall have also been fixed. Finally, the windshield wipers now do what they are supposed to do, wipe.
Our remastered F-5E Tiger II features enhanced visual effects with improved afterburner visuals and more realistic cockpit shaking under high G maneuvers.
For classic jet enthusiasts, the F-86F Sabre has received an important input fix, resolving a joystick assignment error that prevented proper VOIP control mapping and restored full functionality.

Flight training in the Yak-52 fixes include wheel brake disengagement during hot starts and improved pneumatic starter parameters.

The Flaming Cliffs 2024 module brings exciting new content with additional instant-action missions in Afghanistan for the Su-25T. Visual enhancements include overwing vapor effects on the Su-27 and Su-33, adding some atmospheric realism.
Finally, our historical WWII collection sees the Mosquito FB Mk VI receiving Russian localization for its lessons, making this iconic aircraft's training materials accessible to more pilots around the world.

During your journey in Rowen, you will come across various merciless monsters that will attack you on sight. These vile creatures are influenced by the Dark Sun. As Sunborn, it’s your mission to defeat this scourge. If you wish to survive these dangerous encounters, it would be wise to understand exactly what kind of creatures will be standing in your way…


The mindflare is a dangerous creature, easily recognisable by its floating body and bright green eye. If you end up being noticed by its deadly gaze, keep a safe distance from it and attack with all the power you’ve got.


The Nightmare got its name for a reason. Its agile legs and hair-raising eyes bring terror to those who see it. We recommend you immediately attack when you come across a nightmare, as its speed allows it to get to you quickly and once it’s near you, there’s no turning back…


While similar in appearance, the Banshee and the Nightmare are very different creatures. This monster shoots a deadly spell at any enemy it encounters. Keep your eyes open for any sudden flashes of orange light, and be prepared to face the wail of the banshee.


The anguished are pale and slender creatures who do not seem dangerous at first glance. Their immense strength and adaptability, however, allows them to use the Empire’s weapons against itself. Anguished are often seen carrying barrels of explosives in the hopes of blowing up its prey the moment they have the chance.


A kin of the Mindflare, the Frostmind is another floating creature with a singular eye. They have the ability to freeze their prey, making them unable to move and an easy kill. Immediately attack when you see this creature, as it does not give you even a second to react.

There are many more enemies that you’ll discover on your way through the treacherous lands of Rowen, but hopefully this introduction will prepare you for most battles that you will encounter.

Take down these vile creatures of the Dark Sun and avenge our fallen comrades, Sunborn.

Greetings, folks! Another two weeks have passed, and we are back with the news and clarifications in our new issue of the RaidDigest. While your Background Battles are rolling, grab a cup of coffee, make yourself comfortable, and let’s dive into it!

Background Battles Are Available For Everyone
Good news! Two days ago, we finally opened Background Battles to all players. Thank you for your patience while we were gradually opening this feature to a bigger audience.

Since all Raiders got access to it, we’d like to highlight a few things about the feature.
  • Selling gear is impossible directly from the Background Multi-Battle window: it is not a bug but a peculiarity of this feature. All the obtained Artifacts/Accessories will be immediately added to your account, and you’ll be able to interact with them even before the Background Multi-Battles are finished.
  • A special warning when your Inbox is full. To prevent your Inbox from overflowing, there is a pop-up window with a heads-up that your Inbox is full before you start the Background Multi-Battle giving you a chance to clear out some space.
Bugs And Fixes
  • Gem Mine Hides Gems. Sometimes, the Mine is hiding generated Gems. Worry not, it is only a visual illusion. Gems are still being produced, and clicking on the Mine will let you collect them as usual. Our developers are planning to release a fix in one of the next releases.
  • Saved Teams Cannot Be Edited. Some players get an error message when trying to edit Saved Teams on various locations. The developers are aware of the issue and are already preparing a fix to release it in the next big update. Meanwhile, as a temporary workaround, we suggest completely deleting a problematic Saved Team with the 'delete' button and rebuilding the team.
  • The Power Of The [Deathbrand] Can Be Resisted. As you know, Champions under a [Deathbrand] receive the [Block Revive] debuff when killed. However, currently, high Resistance may prevent [Block Revive] from being landed on a target under [Deathbrand], which is a bug that we'll fix in one of the next releases.
Faction Wars Area Bonuses And “Hard” Faction Wars
As mentioned in our latest What’s Next in RAID video (hope you liked it), we’re expanding Faction Wars by adding a Hard mode. A logical question arose: would the existing Faction Wars Area Bonuses work towards the upcoming Hard Faction Wars?
Yes, absolutely! Existing Area Bonuses will work for Hard mode, so you can start preparing for it.

Clan vs. Clan Tournament and Personal Rewards
The next installment of Clan vs. Clan Tournament won't feature Personal Rewards.

Hey there!

It's us, your friendly neighborhood experimental indie game devs. It's a fact that while True: learn() is a game that is done by now, We're still happy to see new feedback from you, the players, years after the game was released! It's an honor and joy, and we are endlessly grateful to all of you!

We have some thoughts about future updates for the game (no dates or promises yet, though), but for now, we are exploring some new ideas, which we'd like to share with you!

Latest News

As you may already know, we have released the v1.0 game of our next cat-themed game, Learning Factory, which PC Gamer once called 'an adorable factory game about machine learning and cats'. Adorable AND gigantic, we might add. A simple idea of a cat-themed tycoon led to almost 5 years in development and over 100 hours of content.

As for our other game, Craftomation 101, a spiritual successor of while True: learn(), in which you get to actually use visual programming on goofy robots, things are going fine for it. We have prepared a plan of things that we're planning to add before the 1.0 release (here's a deep dive into it).

In the meantime, we were honored to be included in the 34th annual selection of pedagogically assessed games by the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth of Germany, which, to be honest, sounds very cool to us! Give it a read if you happen to be a German speaker:

Once again, we're deep in the pre-production stage right now; more gameplay types and art styles will be tested before - and if - we decide to move on.
