UPDATE: Version: MYSTICAL BOG #1.066 (EXPERIMENTAL BUILD)
This is a small experimental build update that:
  • Fixed not being able to hit B to go back in the options menu while in a mini-game or the board game mode.
  • Number Bots (Numbots) now have some visual changes and will light up the colour of the player once hit. Let me know if you like this change, I understand it may not be for everyone.

PLAYER PLACED HAZARDS NOW AWARD POINTS
That's right, whenever a player places down a hazard on the map, and another player interacts with that hazard, they will receive a point at the end of the turn.
This means that even if a sticky surface hazard is placed and a player walks through it, the player who placed that sticky surface will receive a point.
This is only a rough implementation, so visually it needs improvement and perhaps the tutorial needs to reflect this too, however this is a very important change to the gameplay mechanics.
Right now, players who's hazards are interacted with, will get a point, regardless of the player reaching their destination or not, but if the player dies or doesn't reach their destination, players who's hazards are interacted with, will receive double points (right now, that's just 2 points until I add customisation settings).

In the future, this will be expanded upon, and customisation settings will obviously be added.

Hey everyone,

With Havendock 1.0 coming, I want to share an update on multiplayer.

After some tough reflections, multiplayer will remain in experimental mode, and will not be released to the main branch in 1.0. But, if you still wish to play in multiplayer, you can still do so by switching to the experimental branch and you can play just as before.

It’s been super cool to see so many people excited to play Havendock with friends, but ultimately I had to choose between creating new content versus stopping development for a long time to rewrite the game for multiplayer. Given the complexity involved, it is unfortunately not realistic to implement at this time.
That said, I don’t want to rule it out completely! The reason I added multiplayer was because I myself wanted to play my own game with my friends. I even brought someone on board to work on it and sunk significant time/cost into it, but it didn’t work out.

This left a difficult decision: Either I take over and stop making content altogether, or focus on what I do best. And I know whichever decision gets made, it will leave one group disappointed.

I know this may be disappointing, and I’m sorry for those who were looking forward to it. If I can find the right person, ideally someone experienced with multiplayer and familiar with Havendock’s systems, I’m happy to revisit it in future.

For now, my focus is on expanding the game in ways that are realistic and sustainable for a solo developer, so I can continue to make cool things for all of you. I truly appreciate your patience and for being part of this journey with me!

1. Bug Fixes
- Fixed issue where card removal interface couldn't be closed
- Resolved potential bug causing builds to be in test mode
- Corrected card flip animation bug during card draw

Not right up actually but here's a sneak peak of what I've been working on.

With the addition of Boss Days the gameplay might become a bit difficult as the player proceeds in game. In order to balance that, the penalty on Streak loss is altered as shown in the screen shot. This is all subject to testing and I might alter few things along the way.

Most of these things were not originally planned and I can't thank enough the community here for all of the great ideas and suggestions.

I've planned some Legendary and Rare perks(cards) that will make the game play interesting and to balance the game.

Can't wait for you guys to try it. Part of it will be added to Demo as well. I don't want to spoil the fun by sharing all of the details at the same time I have this urge to keep talking about it.

I realize I'm posting a little less than usual. The reason for that is a technical one, not an indication of a problem: On normal updates, I'm introducing a bunch of new characters as Karder goes on different quests and meets new girls, but on this update he is more focus on... deepening his relationship with his family, hence no new characters to preview.

Rest assured that not only my pace is great, I'm writing and animating the best lewd scenes I ever produced, with much more animations per scene. I'll publish an ETA when I feel I can commit to one, thank you for your ongoing support and patience.
