- This build adds some safety to game threading code, to try and help out with an issue that some players are having where their saves are corrupted.

We bring you update 0.7.5 with several interesting gameplay improvements. Thanks to all the game fans who write us comments for the great feedback!

While you can enjoy the update, we're already working on a new one - next time we'll finally get a new map (among other things)!

What has changed?

  • The computer now actively tries to use political actions, whether positive (e.g. offer an alliance), neutral (try to buy land from you), or negative (sabotage, kill the governor, bribe the governor, etc.).
  • Added Royal Council where you can assemble a council of nobles and scholars and use their skills.
  • The Royal Council can focus on one of several tasks you choose. For example, it can actively set optimal taxes in the provinces to make the most money for you, but without the people revolting.
  • The people on your council may die of age or disease in much the same way as governors, for example.
  • You can now turn on Tactical Battles in the game Options. These fights are a bit slower (soldiers are slower to kill), so they are for those who want to be more tactical.
  • Fixed a bug with important people "Inventors", some of them had no bonuses.
  • Modified font system to support Asian languages.
  • After conquering a territory, the mood is very bad for a while, it remains, but in certain cases you can partially influence it with military garrison and low taxes.
  • Fixed quest "Don't attack".
  • If you conquer a territory that has been plundered before or the people there are rebelling, it can in turn lift the spirits of the inhabitants. They see you as a liberator.
  • If the nobility wants to declare war on someone, they'll pick them from the factions you have the worst relations with.
  • The marketplace revenue bonus is reduced from 50 to 20 percent.
  • And lots of other smaller fixes.

Today, I’m excited to share what’s coming in the Hollow Mine v0.7 Steam Next Fest Demo Edition.

Before we start I would like to say to everyone thank you - having a game on Steam Next Fest and preparing it to release was always my dream. It wouldn't be possible without your support people! Thank you all for help by playing, reporting bugs, giving feedback and ideas! Also game evolved like that, because of all this contributions from you. Let's keep it like that!

Upcoming Features and Changes:

Fire Mage Character
Master of the blazing arts, channeling mystical flames to incinerate foes with relentless fire and fury. Character will have increased ability to ignite enemies and damage from burning effect. Also the new Spell Rain of Fire with dealing AOE damage and instantly igniting surrounding enemies will be inside the starting equipment.

To unlock the Fire Mage, blow up 50x enemies using bomb.



Spell Rain of Fire
It's another spell with AOE effect next to Ice Nova Spell. Get close to enemies cast a spell and watch how they receive damage and ignite instantly. Having increase burning damage should work well in combination with this spell. The spell will be available in initial Fire Mage equipment and in Sage's shop, you can find this NPC in mine encampment room.



Knight Character
A heavily armored warrior, expert in close combat, brawling, and deflecting hits. His resilience and mastery of defense make him an unstoppable force on the battlefield.

To unlock the Knight defeat mine biome boss once.



Menu Music Loop
New Menu music loop won't stop, there is a new ambient sound that will play after every main menu theme loop. It should make atmosphere a little bit more enjoyable while waiting to play the game in main menu.

Activate Altar Room Music
While being in the room new music will play increasing the seriousness of the place and significance of the decision player is going to make to activate the artifact - Weles Burden Ring, or not.

SFX Sounds
There will be more variety of SFX sounds available for players to hear during gameplay. Sounds for critical damage, almost breaking weapon or rolling items from the box and more.

Angry Bee Enemy
This enemy will have a way easier style of attack - it fires 4 red bullets instantly in one direction each. It's much more easier enemy, all to make it more fair at the beginning of the game. This enemy can be found in Forest Biome.



Forest Camp Starting Area
Starting area with waypoint, merchant NPC and Kettle Crafting Table for potions was added. It will serve as a initial point to inform a player a bit about the lore and also it will allow new players to onboard into the game more easily.

* - Using waypoint player can teleport back to this area. Another waypoint is inside mine encampment.



Merchant NPC
In order to help with onboarding new Merchant NPC was added to new starting Forest Camp - with items like (cheaper) health potion, bombs, basic blueprints. healthy herb and teleport scroll . Players will be able to use starting coins to buy & decide what suits them the best.

* - Teleport scroll allows to create a portal and come back to waypoint and back to the room once.

- Fishing now has a 10% chance of giving a random item (previously 1%)
- All bosses now give ONE old world crystal per day
- Luck spells no longer increase old world crystal drops

- Improved attack indicator reliability
- Temporarily removed the US server (working on it! Although it shouldn’t really be necessary anymore anyway….)

As we are nearing the end of the Season 4 Offseason, & with the addition of new cosmetics - this patch is focused on shoring some things up as well as taking care of newly introduced bugs (& a few older ones!). Stay tuned for information regarding the launch of the Season 4 ranked season.

Odyssey: Realm of Echoes - nz
The platformer mode has undergone a complete rework, transforming it into an even more dynamic and engaging experience. Here’s a breakdown of the changes:

PLATFORMER MODE
The missions from the previous version of the platformer mode are making a comeback, but they will be completely revamped to fit the new mechanics and story structure.
The narrative will be partially changed to offer a deeper experience and a more coherent plotline as you progress through the game.

The mode will now be split into 4 chapters, each offering a unique experience and narrative development:
Chapter 1 - Introduction: The first chapter will serve as an introductory level where the character must make their way through a mysterious new setting.
Chapter 2 - Forgotten Depths: The second chapter begins with a flashback, revisiting key levels from the old Chapter 2. As the memory fades, the character finds themselves in the deeper sections of the dungeon, where new dangers and intricate platforming challenges await.
Chapter 3 - Abyssal Trials: This chapter also starts with a flashback, bringing back missions from the previous version before descending into the abyssal levels of the dungeon. The difficulty intensifies as the environment becomes more treacherous and demanding.
The character’s movement has been completely reworked to offer smoother, more responsive gameplay, making it more engaging.
Each dungeon level will introduce new mechanics, ensuring a fresh experience as you progress through the game.
The platforming sections have been given a visual overhaul, featuring a unique artistic style, ensuring that each new area feels distinct.
PERFORMANCE TRACKING
A time system has been implemented for each level, allowing you to track your best completion times.
You'll also be able to access your scores for each level and compare your performance with other players.
A complete list of levels is available so you can easily select any stage you’ve completed.
View your scoreboards per level and track your progress to optimize your performance.
CHARACTER EVOLUTION
The character’s appearance and equipment will also evolve as you progress through the chapters: the character will start with a basic outfit and will unlock new attire as they complete chapters, reflecting their growth and the new abilities they’ve gained.

Big Features
- Disorderly Dwelling challenge added.
- Challenge room now shows the best time for each challenge.

Small Features
- The number of holes between two zones can be changed in the settings.
- StartZone, ExitZone and ExitHole values in the settings can be defined by their geographical positions.
- Cold items do not emit heat particles when they replace a hot item.
- Items being washed are visible inside the washing machine.
- Fortune cookie texts will not repeat during the run.
- Vyna emits a sound when the hint prompt appears.
- Tupi is caught by a scoop net when warping out of a stuck location.
- Hints add a penalty of 30 seconds in the final time.

Level Design
- It's easier to go to the first shelf of the living room with the cheese jump.
- Garage car top is aligned with the wall holes.
- Pins treasure chests are easier to aim at.
- Fixed some logic issues.

Gameplay Tweaks
- Rocket snaps to the ground only if the player is close to the ground.
- Timer continues running when the game is paused.

Graphics
- Challenge room remade.
- Justine icon added when Ligu waits for the player to check on her.
- Randomized blanket integration improved on Tana's sprite.
- Four paintings added.

Writing
- Some dialogs are skipped when item icons are randomized.
- Tupi doesn't say more ink cartridges are required before actually trying to print the document.

Bugs
- Popi stops talking when he's hidden in the armchair.
- It was possible to clip through the ground with the fire slam.
- The Cheese Slam sometimes didn't trigger the gramophone or the printer.
- Some pins were visible while inside the dollhouse or the car trunk.
- Some items were possibly duplicated in some campaign runs.
- Gamepad upgrades tracker was sometimes not restored after a run reload.
- Player's position was restored to the start of the level after exiting the game twice without moving.
- Some quest checks were marked as out of logic even though they were legit.
- NPCs quest marker wasn't shown correctly after revealing them in a fire-locked location.
- Backup save files are correctly loaded if the main save file has been corrupted.
Split Fiction - esnelling
The Friend's Pass


The Friend's Pass*, a staple feature from Hazelight Studios, returns once again in Split Fiction! As Split Fiction is a true co-op adventure you experience alongside a partner, Hazelight wants to make the process of finding someone to be the Mio to your Zoe as simple as possible. The Friend's Pass allows anyone who owns the game to invite a friend to join the fun online for free, even if they don't own a copy!

Better still, the Friend's Pass lets you connect and play with friends across different platforms with crossplay for the very first time in a Hazelight game. And you can do this as many times as you like, even if you invite a new friend to play through the sci-fi and fantasy adventure each time!

How Friend's Pass Works



Getting someone to play with you can be done with these four simple steps:

  • Step 1. I own Split Fiction
  • Step 2. Friend installs Friend's Pass on their chosen platform
  • Step 3. I send an invite to my friend, who then accepts the in-game invite
  • Step 4. Play The Entire Game Together



Friends Pass Trial
Even if neither you and your co-op partner own a copy of Split Fiction, you can both experience a Trial of the game for free using the Friend's Pass! Once you both download and launch the Friend's Pass version of the game, you will be able to invite each other to play the opening stages of the game together, and then continue your progress if one of you purchases a full copy of Split Fiction!

Cross-Play
No matter what platform you and your friends are playing on, you will be able to team up and experience Zoe and Mio's story through Split Fiction. Connect between PC and PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S all combinations are possible! Playing Split Fiction via cross-play will require a free EA Account, so be sure to sign up.

If no one on your friends list is available to play Split Fiction with you, you can also use the "Looking for Player" channels on the Hazelight Discord server to arrange game sessions with other players in the community, letting you both journey through the incredible sci-fi and fantasy worlds Mio and Zoe have to escape from!
