đŚHowdy! Coming at you today with a patch build to Blobun which fixes bugs that have been found and adds some polish (and a couple new puzzles for the full version.)
Before we get to the patch notes though, there's something important to talk about: Speedrun Clocks. A lot of players have reached out to us with feedback about the game so far, and every single one of them said that they didn't like the timers. We heard you, and we've removed all of them. Because of that, we also removed the Steam achievements related to them, including in the demo version (more on this in a bit.)
For the people who liked the timers, don't fret! A new "Challenge Modes" submenu has been added to the "Extras" menu on the title screen, where you can turn them back on. However, by default, they'll be off. You also wont lose any times you've gained, so don't worry about that!
We wanted to keep the achievements that people had gotten in the demo version and not take them away, but since you can't get the speedrun times now unless you enable the above option, and also because so many people reached out to us about it, we decided it'd be better just to remove them. Thank you to the 76.7% of players who got a speedrun medal, 22.5% who got all of them, and 10.9% who went hardcore and got all the dev times! And again, sorry we had to take the achievements back.
Now, here are the patch notes:
===== IMPORTANT =====
NOTE: Some of these changes only apply to the full version of the game.
We've removed all Puzzle Timers from the game based on player feedback. There's a new "Challenges" menu on the title screen under "Extras" to turn them back on, if you like. However, by default, no times will be shown.
Because of this, we've also removed all time-based Steam achievements from both the demo and full version. We wanted to keep the demo ones, but since you can't get those achievements without the timers on now, it makes no sense to keep them. Sorry!
The game will still keep track of times you've gotten in puzzles internally, so you don't have to have the timers visible for them to register. There is just no pressure to do so. However, you also don't need to have the timers on if you decide later you want to challenge yourself that way.
===== NEW =====
[Steam] You may now take screenshots of the game using F12. (We forgot to implement this, sorry.)
The game now will show the controls for "Sprint" and "Undo" on the bottom of the screen when you start the puzzle, or when you pause the game.
[Full Version] The full game now has more puzzles. Good luck!
[Full Version] The full version of the game on Steam now has achievements graphics.
===== IMPROVED =====
The Autumn Grove now has proper background graphics.
The City of Lapines now has proper background graphics.
All stages should have ambient sounds now.
===== CHANGED =====
When you first start a new puzzle, in addition to the puzzle title and location, it'll also show the keys for restarting and skipping the puzzle. This should help make it more obvious that these keys exist and that you can use them.
These popups will also now show whenever you make a mistake, just in case Undo isn't enough to get you out of whatever jam you're in.
Changed some fonts used around the game to improve the presentation.
When the mouse is held down, a light green path will be drawn between the end of the current path and the mouse cursor.
The extra animation for getting a low time will now only show if your new time is lower than your previous time, or if you've just gotten the speedrun medal. (When timers are enabled.)
Added a slight delay to the "Confirm" prompt showing on popup messages to help prevent accidentally clearing them before you can read them.
Because of the removal of speedrun times from general gameplay, the popup explaining how they work has been removed.
The popup for getting all speedrun medals has been adjusted, and now just congratulates you for solving all the puzzles in an area (It's also been changed to show up when you beat the last puzzle in an area, rather than when you get all medals.)
Updated the visual theming for the City of Lapines.
===== BUG FIXES =====
Because of a previous bug fix we did, at least one late-game puzzle became unbeatable. We've fixed Victory Road, but if any other puzzle seems impossible, please let us know. We'll let you know if it's actually impossible or if it's skill issue.
NOTE: The above bug did not affect the demo. All demo puzzles are beatable.
Fixed a bug where playing the demo version and then playing the full version would cause the full version to return to the title screen when trying to load a game.
Did some refactoring of how menus are drawn to fix several bugs and issues. All menus should be better now, but there might be a menu we missed. If you see a weird menu, let us know!
The above refactor fixed the hitboxes for the stage select menu panels not lining up with their visual position.
It also fixed scrolling on any menus that are taller than the screen is (none of these exist in the demo version.)
Stephanie will no longer turn around to face the electric wire she just came out of.
Light sources on Enemy Spikes are now correctly aligned with their movement.
The timer will no longer reset when you've run out of undo steps. Otherwise stated, the timer will reset when you undo back to the initial position, but if the puzzle has more than 100 moves, then the timer will not reset on undo anymore (you'll have to start it over.)
===== KNOWN BUGS =====
Once in a while, undoing the very first step of the puzzle doesn't affect some puzzle elements, but we're not able to reliably reproduce it. If you figure out a way, let us know, as this causes the puzzle to be desynced!
There's still some quirks with the menus and whatnot when it comes to mouse controls. There's some we know about (like how scrolling is broken on long menus,) but feel free to reach out anyways!
We've fixed a couple issues that popped up with the last map update, but also made some improvements in the AI behaviour, and fixed some campaign issues that we kept seeing reports for.
Features:
AI now waits with attacking until it has a better group size on Hard and Insane difficulty.
AI now does not attach the hero unit to harassment groups, only full attack groups.
Fixes:
Fixed an issue where ranged units would sometimes not respond to commands as expected.
The walls now also increase the search range of units to match the attack range increase.
Giltineâs Kiss upgrade no longer lowers the base range of tower attacks.
Campaign:
When dialogues intersect, the new one takes priority, instead of playing through each other. Thereâs still improvements to make in cutscene overlap that weâre working on.
In Fire and Moonlight, some trigger areas for cutscenes have been moved to prevent overlap.
In Bishopâs Bane, the Skycalf quest can now be triggered by Meness too.
In Bishopâs Bane, the Skycalfâs HP has been increased from 100 to 250. Keep him safe.
In Journey From Dausos, the AI is no longer allowed to take the resources around the shrine, allowing for easier basebuilding and defense.
In Journey From Dausos, the hero now has a base faith income.
In Journey From Dausos, the shrines will now spawn worshippers once the building stage of the mission begins.
Journey From Dausos hard difficulty has been lowered.
In the meanwhile, we are also working on additional features and content. For those who are waiting, info about the speed of campaign progress is coming tomorrow.
Due to adjustments in the save mechanism in version 0.99.10, incompatibility issues may arise in ongoing games. This could result in bugs such as incorrect monster spawn points, failure to spawn monsters properly, or incorrect display of game objectives. These issues will be resolved when starting a new game.

Embrace the Legacy of Phrecia in an upcoming Path of Exile 1 event next Thursday, February the 20th (PST)! Enhance your build with one of the new 19 Ascendancy classes and shape the endgame experience with the new Idol system. By reaching certain level thresholds in the Legacy of Phrecia event you will also receive pieces of the Autumn Knight Armour Set!
Start Date: 12PM February 20th PSTEnd Date: 1PM March 23rd PDT Based on: Settlers of Kalguur Platforms: PC and ConsolesStandard, Hardcore, Standard Solo Self-Found and Hardcore Solo Self-Found versions available. The event also has a Ruthless mode available which uses the same Ascendancy Classes as non-Ruthless versions. This event is not voided. Items and characters will transfer to parent leagues at the end of the event. Upon migration, your charactersâ Ascendancy points will be respecced and you'll be assigned one of the core Ascendancy classes.
In the Legacy of Phrecia event, all the 19 Ascendancy classes you are familiar with will be replaced with new ones. Become a Servant of Arakaali and raise spiders to fight alongside you; use the powers of nature itself as the Daughter of Oshabi or just ascend into a Harbinger - this event manifests the wildest ideas of our design team into reality. Explore the Ascendancy Classes available in the Legacy of Phrecia below (the Scavenger Ascendancy for Scion will be revealed early next week):
Ranger
Daughter of Oshabi
As an Azmeri, the daughter has a great respect for nature - particularly the forest. She shares many of the powers of the Warden of the Maji, as well as being empowered by Shrines or utilising Sacred Wisps to aid Wand attacks.
Whisperer
The Whisperer is a descendant of Inya of the Pale Court. She travels silently, imbuing her attacks with arcane powers. Investing in your Mana is core to taking advantage of many of her abilities.
Wildspeaker
The Wildspeaker worships the First Ones, a set of animalistic avatars from Ezomyte legend. Choose between the aspect of Farrul, first of the plains, or Saqawal, first of the sky. Her love for the animals of the forest grants her several abilities that aid her allies in battle.
Marauder
Antiquarian
This Karui Collector hails from the port of Ngakanu. Over the course of his long career he has traded for historical artifacts, many of which he can employ in combat. Choose from Kalguuran relics, Karui trinkets used by legendary Chieftains or equipment from one of the great Karui enemies, General Marceus Lioneye.
Behemoth
The Behemoth abhors magic and the users of it. The truest form of combat should be hand to hand, up close and personal. The Behemoth gets progressively stronger throughout combat, gaining Rampage, Fortify and Rage.
Ancestral Commander
This Marauder calls the spirits of his Karui ancestors to his side to both protect him and strike foes down. Be comforted in the knowledge that you have generations of predecessors watching over you.
Shadow
Surfcaster
The Surfcaster is simply a Chill guy. His home is with the sea, for which he attunes to gain control of the Cold and Lightning elements. An expert fisherman himself you can reap great rewards for holding a Fishing Rod, if you can find him one.
Servant of Arakaali
Tempted by the Spinner of Shadows herself, the Servant does the bidding of the Queen. Arachnophobes stay away, because the Servant can both raise spiders to fight alongside or embrace the Aspect of the Spider to cover enemies in webs.
Blind Prophet
Little is known about who the Prophet worships, but it is suspected to be a subterranean evil. Blind from a young age, the Prophet has heightened their other senses through years of training, gaining prowess in projectile attacks, stealth and inflicting curses.
Witch
Harbinger
Become a Harbinger, manipulating the bounds of reality itself. The Harbinger specializes in Time Magic as well as summoning Harbinger allies from their homeworld to assist you in combat. As a bonus you also get to fly and be blue.
Herald
The Herald sees calamity in the future, hopefully only for your enemies. She forsakes auras to go all in on Herald skills, empowering them beyond being simply minor buffs.
Bog Shaman
This witch has taken up residence in a faraway bog, away from the putrid stench of humanity. She has brewed a set of toxins that she administers to herself daily to gain potent skills in exchange for but minor drawbacks.
Duelist
Gambler
Are you the kind of player who likes to play against the odds? This is the perfect class for risk lovers who want to experience the highest of highs, and potentially the lowest of lows. The Gambler specialises in betting on a high payoff and having lady luck take control.
Paladin
The Paladin is a Duelist who has taken a righteous path. He serves to better his allies in combat, protecting them from danger through Link and Aura skills as well as Taunting enemies.
Aristocrat
Born with a silver spoon in their mouth, the Aristocrat had access to the finest education in Oriath. Starting one step ahead in life grants the Aristocrat more passive skill points than any other class.
Templar
Architect of Chaos
A budding Vaal Architect, this disciple of Chaos experiments with all the deepest secrets of the Vaal. Many of his powers come with a cost. The Architect benefits from employing multiple Vaal skills in their arsenal and enhances equipped Corrupted items.
Polytheist
After a crisis of faith this Templar has decided to devote his worship between several of Wraeclastâs Pantheon of deities, with the aim of finding a new purpose in life. Powers familiar to each of the gods will be yours if you choose to pursue their paths.
Puppeteer
This Templar has desecrated the holy order by experimenting with Undead in his secret laboratory. His aim is reanimation, to command an army of flesh puppets to undertake his foul bidding.
Scion
Scavenger
This Scion has happened upon a heap of âtrashâ, discarded by other exiles, but for what reason? What exile could look at these curios and think they werenât incredibly valuable? Well it is hers now, just to decide which to take as she can't carry them all.
In addition, the Atlas Passive Tree in this event (and this event only) has been replaced by a new system. As you progress through the endgame you'll find Idols, which can be placed into a new tab on the Map Receptacle UI to modify your maps. Find out more about the Idol system here. Note to Item Filter creators: use the new class âIdolâ to support Idols in your filters.
By reaching level 20, 40, 60 and 80 in the Legacy of Phrecia event, youâll be able to earn pieces of the Autumn Knight Armour Set (Boots, Gloves, Body Armour and Helmet respectively). Just like the regular Challenge League rewards, the Autumn Knight Armour Set is earned exclusively in this event and will not be available for purchase. It will also be available for use in Path of Exile 2 if earned. Check it out!
Twitch Drops will be available for the first week of the event (12PM February 20th PST - 12PM February 27th). Watch your favourite streamer playing the Legacy of Phrecia and receive the Havenwood Cloak that perfectly accompanies the Autumn Knight Armour Set!
You will get the Havenwood Cloak after 2 hours of accumulated watch time on any channel streaming Path of Exile during the first week of the Legacy of Phrecia. This means that the drop is guaranteed for everyone who has watched any Path of Exile stream for this amount of time. This promotion is available for all accounts.
Visit your Twitch Settings page while logged in. If your account isn't connected, click the "Connect" button for Twitch under "Other Connections". Complete the process on Twitch and you will be redirected back to your Twitch Settings page. If your account is already connected, this page should say "Your Path of Exile account is currently linked to your Twitch account."
After you have accumulated enough watch time to earn your Havenwood Cloak, you must redeem it from your Twitch Inventory before they will be available in your microtransactions list in Path of Exile.
When the event begins on February 20th, just create a new character in either Standard or Hardcore Legacy of Phrecia event on the Character Selection screen. If you want to play SSF or Ruthless, donât forget to select those options on the screen.
Will the Legacy of Phrecia event run on all platforms?
Yes. The event is available on PC and Consoles.
Can I play my existing character?
No, youâll need to make a new character.
Can I change my Ascendancy class during the event?
Yes.
Will I receive multiple Autumn Knight Armour sets by levelling several characters in the event?
No, you will be able to receive only one Armour Set per account.
When will I receive a piece of the Armour Set?
A piece of the Autumn Knight Armour set will be awarded automatically upon reaching level 20, 40, 60 and 80 (youâll receive Boots, Gloves, Body Armour and Helmet respectively).
Will you consider extending the event? One month feels like not enough time to try out everything.
We will consider extending the event based on its popularity, but we will also be adding alternate Ascendancy Classes and Idols Endgame system individually as Private League options some time after the event so you can experiment with them as long as you want.
Will the ongoing Necro Settlers event end when the Legacy of Phrecia begins?
Yes.
We hope youâll have fun in the Legacy of Phrecia. Canât wait to see the builds you make!
1 Removed the camera shake when enemy projectiles hit ground or objects other than the player, which will make the game feels laggy on some low-end computers 2 Changed the unlock information of the fourth dream region. It was confirmed that the region will be introduced, just wait for some time.
I need to do a quick update on the status of the game. Unfortunately, Iâve been down for the past couple of weeks with an illness in the family, myself being under the weather as well. It seemed like everything was pulling me away from the game. Itâs been frustrating and Iâve been chomping at the bit to get back working full time on it. Thankfully things have settled down and Iâm back full time on the game.
The career mode is coming along nicely. Most of what we are working on is infrastructure for the new mode and the game. Things like: email system, messaging, new UI, jobs, the new vertex painting system, debris, new house models (Iâm very excited about this), various new assets, paint color customization, a hardware storeâŚAnd many more little things. The maps will come last in the order of things.
Weâve added a new development branch for testing the development build of the game. You are free to try this branch but keep in mind that the game will be: buggy, glitchy, potentially unstable, not save game compatible, not feature complete and will not represent the actual current state of the game.
The beta branch is used for release candidate testing and youâre free to try that if you feel like it.
Weâve also added a youtube channel (not much there ATM). Weâll be adding some letâs plays as well as possibly some âwatch the devâ type stuff. Our channel is at: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6aXK0obrhgp6prEA9SCkwg
We also desperately need to update the store page. Weâll try and do that in march.
Stay warm and keep your brushes clean! Thanks from Argon Gaming!
Our game is now officially live on Steam! Thank you for your patience and support. Get ready for a unique puzzle adventureâplay solo or with friends and enjoy the challenge!
