We are so excited to reveal that Beneath is being published by Wired Productions - who we worked with on our 2020 title Those Who Remain. We are so excited to be working with this team again, and the chance to build on the Wired X Camel 101 partnership! We’ve released an awesome new trailer to celebrate, watch below:
We'd like to invite you to join us for our most ambitious community development collaboration ever. This is an opportunity to provide feedback, validate the future of Battlefield, and have a direct and lasting impact on the next generation of Battlefield games.
Our {LINK REMOVED}collective Battlefield Studios teams have been hard at work and are now entering a critical phase of our development cycle, where your feedback is crucial in helping us know what to prioritize, improve, and refine before release.
What Is Battlefield Labs?
Battlefield Labs is a place for us to test concepts and experiences we’re excited about with you, our players. We want our community to play a key role in the future of Battlefield and this is an opportunity for many of you to do just that.
We will test (almost) everything but not everything you see will be complete. To ensure that your feedback has impact, players will experience, under NDA, different pieces of an unfinished puzzle so we have time to incorporate your feedback into the final product.
Even in pre-alpha, we are proud of where the game is at. We tirelessly playtest, but your feedback will supercharge our development as we strive to hit that perfect note between form, function, and feel.
This is an unprecedented moment for Battlefield. We will start by testing the pillars of play, like core combat and destruction. Then transition to balance and feedback for our weapons, vehicles and gadgets, ultimately leading to where all these pieces come together in our maps, modes, and squad play.
And yes, we will be testing Conquest and Breakthrough, the heart and soul of our all-out warfare experience, but BF Labs will also be a place to explore new ideas and fine-tune and improve Battlefield pillars like our class system (Assault, Engineer, Support, and Recon) to create deeper more strategic play.
How do I get involved?
Sign up now. To form an accurate snapshot of our community we need a variety of players - veterans and new recruits - ready to play and feedback on our vision for the future of Battlefield. Initial invites will be limited to a few thousand participants with servers located in Europe and North America. Over time we’ll invite tens of thousands more with support for further territories.
Regardless of your level of participation, we want all Battlefield fans to be a part of the process. We’ll be posting work-in-progress public updates from our community team where you will hear directly from developers at Battlefield Studios.
There will be ample opportunity to play and converse around the next Battlefield ahead of its launch. This is just the beginning.
Until then, join us on the {LINK REMOVED}official Battlefield Discord as it’s our prime way to stay up to date on all things Battlefield!
Let’s build Battlefield together. //The Battlefield Team
This announcement may change as we listen to community feedback and continue developing and evolving our Live Service & Content. We will always strive to keep our community as informed as possible.

DLC -Added Free Fish Pack and Asia Fish Pack #1 -Added menus, tutorials, etc. to support the new DLC feature -Added a new store for DLC content that will help surface DLC items more frequently
Fish Appearance and Behavior -HUGE audit to all fish textures, animations, and behaviors. Every fish should look/act better. Some fish look/act WAY better. Thank you Erin for combing through HUNDREDS of files by hand to make this possible. -Updated and improved pectoral fin animations, which are now better connected to actual fish motion/intention -Updated and improved Fish Iridescence -Updated and improved Fish Transparency -Updated and improved lighting on fish, who sometimes had harsh shadows on thin or transparent body parts -Many quality of life improvements for the internal tools used to make Fish, resulting in better quality, faster production, and fewer headaches -Updates to fish behavior, especially algae eating, territory guarding, and general movement -Major improvement to fish schooling, removing "guppy death ball" scenario where an entire school would congregate in one location, oscillating up and down. Schools should now group together and move around as a unit, but not be so glued to each other.
Settings -Added Resolution Scale setting to render the game window at a lower resolution as an optional way to improve performance -Added setting to disable Surface Algae and poop. This was included to let players who use the -dx11 fix still play the game without everything covered in green
Misc -Added warning to the Details Panel when someone is using No Death Mode -Added functionality to Inspect tool that just zooms in on a point if clicking on hardscape or substrate -Added names suggested by our Patreon supporters (thank you!) -Added text to fish details that indicates what size it will grow to be (matching the suggestions when starting a new tank) -Improved UI/menu animations -New sounds, especially when interacting with UI buttons or in-tank items
Fixes -Fixed bug that could erase keeper XP from the UI that had yet to be collected before traveling to a new tank/store -Corrected typos -Fixed back button in main menu -Fixed Grab Highlight bug on fish -Fixed examine mouseover not always showing the latest history event
