A few level/game breaking bugs arose after the additions of new art and player mechanics. Squashing some of the common ones was the focus of this update, with some other minor additions.
Level 3-1 layout level is now completed properly. Just needs some additional art to spruce it up.
Altered level layout slightly on tuorial to avoid getting stuck when unducking.
Trying to unduck or jump while sliding no longer stops the player from moving side to side.
Added boundries to level 1-1 and 2-1 to stop player escaping the level.
Fixed invisible boundry on the boss level. Also increased thickness of ceiling boundry to hopefully stop the player from clipping above the boss area.
Fixed an issue where a player could clip into the floor sometimes when allowing the wall slide to reach the floor.
Added restart level option to the pause menu (FINALLY!)
After a long and hard fight, we finally have TIS2 in a "good enough" state. Very sorry for completely missing the Q2 deadline of last year but we didn't want to say anything as we had no idea how long it would take to make this playable. Even now the game could sill use some polish but when we saw the Idle Festival coming to Steam we knew we had to release the game.
What's new in TIS2:
Leaderboard is split into weekly, monthly, yearly seasons, and all-time. After each week, month... the respective table gets reset and everybody starts again.
Dark mode
Easy way to check how your friends are doing
Resolution and FPS settings
Hardcore mode
Here is a quick tutorial:
The white entries are players who have launched the game but are not currently active. The blue player is yourself. The yellow players are currently online in the game. Button on the top left toggles between dark mode and light mode. Button on the top right shows how your friends are doing. Clock on the top is your all-time score.
Hardcore Mode
Hardcore mode is a completely new addition that puts the word Hard in Hardcore to some real work. Basically the clock ticks as it does in normal mode but this time if you take any action (stop being idle) your time will be reset.
Actions that reset hardcore:
Moving the mouse,
Pressing any button (except from SPACE)
While in hardcore mode there is an option to pause the mode for a minute. You can use this time to check other leaderboards or do whatever you want. The only thing is that you have to go back to the Hardcore tab or your time will be reset.
Hardcore view
In the Hardcore view, on the top, you can see the green timer (the normal mode time) and the red timer (the hardcore time). The view is split into two columns. The left one shows the best times ever achieved. And the right one current hardcore scores for each player. 3 Best times for each category are always visible at the top.
A new set of achievements is available for people who want to challenge this new game mode. Good luck trying to get them!
Known bugs:
I wish this category didn't exist but here we are.
The clock in hardcore goes up and down.
The switch between timemodes can take up to 3 seconds.
Pressing buttons doesn't reset hardcore when window is out of focus.
If you find anything else than these feel free to let us know.
