For the next few weeks I’ll be working hard to continue adding to the main game. Sound interactions were Majorly reworked, and items have been reworked as well in effort to allow for as many items to be interacted with as possible.
I am also trying to add in more dynamic environments and life.
Overall I am focusing on 4 areas of the game map for the Initial EA Release. Prison Quarry, Ivernox, Yorlen Village, and Halcyon Harbor.
And much like the DEMO, after several people get their hands on it I will be bug fixing like mad to get it as solid/stable as possible before starting to add more again.
Performance Matters:
There was a progress delay…if you can call it that…that I self-implemented once I found a way to unlock close to 10-15 FPS for the avg computer. While this may be small for high end comps my goal was to make this as accessible as possible…but it is forcing tedious work redoing literally almost the entire map….it was a hard decision.
All Initial testing is done on a: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-12900 3.20 GHz, 80GB Ram NVIDIA RTX4070 3440x1440 Monitor
I typically see 95+ FPS on Main Game Currently with High/Ultra Settings.
I tested creating more detailed environments (kind of getting away from the low poly look), but the cost was too great as I wanted better than “avg” performance for a open-world-ish Indie game.
I am pushing to be able to rework the Demo some prior to Steam Next Fest. As such I won’t be spending much time Fixing Minor bugs as they may not even be applicable once I bring over more Main Game scripts. However Major or GameBreaking Bugs will be fixed promptly.
Thank you all for being such a great community and I look forward to continuing progress.
I’ll obviously be on the Discord like always but just wanted to give an update.
Season 3 will be different from previous season’s formats, with exciting new content and a new order. Before we share the patch notes, we'd like to inform you about upcoming updates.
COLLABORATION EVENT:
In the Season 3: ACT 2 update, we are planning a collaboration event with another popular VR game. The details of the collaboration will be revealed closer to the date, make sure to look out for announcements.
NEW RUNNERS:
Soon after the collaboration event, in the later half of February, we will be releasing a new Shooter-type Runner. The new Runner is skilled at both long-range and close range shooting, making their fighting style different to Skybolt & Chillout. Their skill will also expand tactics options.
We would also like to announce that we are currently in development of an 11th Runner. High demand from players of a support type, has encouraged us to create a Speed-type runner, with support abilities. Although it will be some time before it is released, please look forward to the runner's design, weapons, and performance.
PLAYER TIERS:
In March, we plan to add a player tier feature that displays each player's strength. Our hope is that this creates a new Brazen Blaze environment and promotes more team collaboration and strategy.
