Only Lead Can Stop Them - RV Novar
Hey everyone,

We’re back with another exciting patch for Only Lead Can Stop Them! This time we’ve prepared a host of audio tweaks, especially for the shotgun, gameplay improvements, and bug fixes. The shotgun sound has been mentioned frequently by the players, and we’ve made changes based on your feedback to make it more satisfying and impactful. We’ll continue to monitor your input closely and adjust as needed.

And here’s more good news!: Only Lead Can Stop Them is currently 15% off as part of the Lunar New Year Sale! If you’ve been looking for the perfect time to bring friends into the fray or finally join the action yourself, this is it.

Now, let’s dive into the details of what’s new in this patch!

Patch #3 Notes

Sound FX
  • The sound for firing the shotgun has been changed to a more powerful variant. This affects the player's sound when firing as well as the Carlist enemy type firing.
  • The sound of dogs barking when chasing after the player has been tweaked to remove some high pitch noise that occurred in some circumstances.
  • The sound of various flames from props and projectiles had some noise errors caused by settings for the sound mixing that has been fixed.

UI
  • Some text-elements has been adjusted so to better fit certain texts in menus.
  • Better fit for certain texts when localized to certain languages.

Level tweaks
  • The level E1M8 has had some issues fixed regarding z-fighting of 3d-object.
  • The level E3M1 has had some mesh gaps fixed for better visual presentation.

Props
  • Darker wooden crates has had an error fixed where the collider would not deactivate when crate was destroyed.

Enemy
  • All boss enemies are now affected by the No Aggro setting which previously only affected regular enemy types.
  • The El Gordo boss enemy of Episode 2 now faces the player at the start of battle. Also, the sprite now only rotates on y-axis to avoid minor visual misbehavior.

We hope you all have enjoyed playing the game so far. We would greatly appreciate a review of the game or recommend it to friends to help the game grow.

Until next time!
Crush Crush - Sad Panda Studios

Hey Panda Peeps,

It’s officially here! The extra-special Fuzzy Parallel Event starts today, which means you get to leap through that strange, swirly portal into a cozy world full of adorable animal-girls! Ahh, escapism at its finest.

A few fun reminders in case you missed the deets we shared earlier:

This event includes Catara! If you already know Catara, then you know that her Speed Dating mechanic is going to come in VERY handy as you work to check off all those fuzzy-wuzzy goals. If you haven’t had the pleasure of meeting Catara yet, then this event will be a fabulous opportunity for you to see how awesome she is!

This event is only running once! After that, it will later be made available for purchase in the in-game Store. If you purchase the event, you’ll be able to play it whenever you want, with zero pressure - guaranteeing you all the associated rewards!

This event features TWO reward characters! Ginger & Wasabi are a precious/sassy catgirl duo unlike anything you’ve seen before, and we cannot wait for you to meet them!

All right, that’s probably enough chit chat from us. Your one free opportunity to complete this event runs from January 27 - 30, which means there’s no time to waste! Go on, get started!

We love you so hard,

The Pandas
Darkest Dungeon® II - RedHookMichaela
Darkest Dungeon II - Kingdoms
“This squalid Kingdom, these corrupted lands. They are yours now, and you are bound to them.”

KINGDOMS
Kingdoms is the culmination of a year-long effort to bring an entirely new, stand-alone game mode to Darkest Dungeon II. Additionally, we’re excited to also launch the Inhuman Bondage DLC simultaneously!

A full description of Kingdoms is beyond the scope of these notes, but a few key points are important to note:

  1. Kingdoms is an all new game mode that is played independently of the standard Confessions mode. Be aware that item unlocks, Hero skill access/upgrades, Inn functionality, are all reset in a Kingdoms campaign, and are accessed in new ways as you play. Your Confession progress is entirely unaffected.
  2. Kingdoms and Confessions progress are largely independent, with only a few exceptions:
    • Stagecoach skins must be unlocked in Confessions mode before using them in Kingdoms.
    • Hero palettes and weapon kits must be unlocked in Confessions/Altar of Hope before using them in Kingdoms.
    • The Abomination (included in Inhuman Bondage DLC) will appear in Kingdoms only after his Shrines of Reflection have been completed in Confessions.
Thank you to our testers!
As with previous large releases, we relied heavily on multiple groups of volunteers who made themselves available to test this update. Your dedication to Darkest Dungeon is humbling to us, and your voluminous feedback and willingness to endure hardships have directly aided us in shaping Kingdoms.

* Pup RNG Death pulldown now displays a green dot indicating how it's set in the current game. (Since the pulldown only affects the next litter, the checkmark can be misleading, so now the green dot makes it clear what is currently in effect.)

IMPROVEMENTS

* Set Notification History scrollbar default position to the top, now that recent items are at the top.
* On Known Wolves panel, player-wolf's offspring and siblings are boldfaced.

* Made lost pups look at the adults that found them longer

* Known Wolves: Update pack name when meeting them again, in case name has changed since first meet (i.e. useful for packs that player joined, renamed, then also left).
* For Survival of the Pack quests, the difficulty level is now reset when pups are born (so if you want to get the achievement on a different difficulty than you've been playing on, you now can, as long as you switch it before pups are born.)
* Refactored some persistent pack mode to make it cleaner and more robust.
* Added info about elk migrations to Raise Pups and Young Hunters quest tips.
* Allow dispersals to respond to player howls even when in rival territory (50% of the time).

If you want to do more of a deep dive into the mechanics prior to hopping in the demo, you can read our recent Dev Updates:

To help you get started in Eternal Strands, we’ve put together a list of a few handy early game tips & tricks. This information will all eventually be available in the game’s tutorial panels as you progress, but we noticed during the demo that some of it was helpful to have going in – so here’s a summary of some key points:

  • Prologue : In the game’s opening hour, you can expect more linear exploration, tutorials, and cut scenes to introduce you to the story & world.
  • Basecamp & dialogue : After the prologue, you’ll start the game at Basecamp with your Weaverband. You can choose to speak to them and get to know who they are, or you can skip this part and go straight into exploring The Enclave.
Handy tip: You have an autoplay dialogue option in your Menus.

  • Basekit abilities : You’ll start the game with a sword & shield and bow & arrow as your available weapons. You’ll also have access to your Ice Wall spell and Weaver’s Grasp spell. As you gather loot and defeat Epics, you’ll get to craft new gear/weapons and weave new magic strands into your Mantle.
  • Finding resources & managing inventory : As you head out into The Enclave, you’ll find a lot of loot, right away. You’ll quickly notice that your inventory space is limited, though each type of loot stacks up to 99. Every time you go back to basecamp, your loot will automatically be deposited at your tent, and your inventory cleared. As you progress in the game, you’ll be able to upgrade Casmyn’s station which will grow your inventory space.
Note : We’ve heard feedback in the demo that players would prefer their base inventory to be larger. This is something we’ll be addressing in a future update 😊

  • Equipping gear & armor: You’ll find crafting recipes on your expedition into the Enclave. If you open your map while out exploring, you’ll see small forging hammers in the areas where recipes can be discovered. Sola can craft weapons and armor for you back at basecamp, and you can switch your equipped gear before you head back out by visiting Casmyn’s caravan.
  • Combat : In menus, mouse and keyboard players can customize keybinding and controller players can choose between two different controller schemes. You can pull up the magic wheel to switch spells and/or weapons.
Handy tip: There is a parry system in the game, which you can trigger with the right block timing on enemy attacks.

  • Camera: There is a lock on/off function, as well as a precision aim toggle for your bow & arrow. Your controls menu will show you where those are on your keyboard or controller.
  • Fast travel/Teleportation: At first, when you go out to explore, you’ll have to walk your way back to Basecamp. Early in your game progress though, you’ll obtain a Loomshard from Laen, which will allow you to quickly teleport back to basecamp from anywhere out in The Enclave.
  • Navigation : You have a compass which can be toggled on in your menus. You also unlock the Weaver’s Wisp (navigation tool) early in the game which will guide you towards your next objective.

We don’t have an in-game bug reporting system. If you want to report an issue you’re encountering or simply share feedback with us after playing the demo, we’ve set up a few channels for you to do so.

If you encounter a bug or issue, you can consult our Known Issues first to see if the team has already been made aware of it.

If you don’t see your issue there and would like to report it, you have a few options:
- You can leave a comment on our Community Hub - we read and respond to everything there! We recommend that you read our Community Guidelines beforehand 😊
  • We’re active on X, Youtube, TikTok, Bluesky, Instagram, and Facebook. You can leave us a comment or send us a DM via your preferred social media channel and we’ll get back to you ASAP.
  • Finally, if you’d like send us a more detailed, step by step description of a bug or issue you’re experiencing (or if you’d like to share more detailed feedback with us) you can email our team at support@yellowbrickgames.ca.

Friendly reminder: We are a small but mighty self-publishing indie team with limited resources. We will be working very hard to get back to everyone in a timely manner, and this will be our main focus for the coming weeks.

However, depending on the volume of support requests we are receiving at any given moment, temporary delays in our response times are to be expected. We’re committed to being proactive and transparent with you, and will promptly let the community know if we experience an abnormally high volume of requests that impacts our team’s response time significantly. We thank you in advance for your collaboration and understanding 💛

You can expect to see some members of our dev team streaming the game tomorrow on Twitch and Steam ! If you want to spectate, learn more about the game’s mechanics or development process before jumping into Eternal Strands yourself, you can tune in to our stream at 11AM ET.

Thank you for being here. Seriously. We are a small indie team from Québec City, self-publishing our new studio’s debut game, which our talented and passionate devs have been hard at work developing since 2020. We are incredibly grateful for your support and interest in Eternal Strands, and we hope that you enjoy discovering the Enclave’s magic as much as we enjoyed weaving it 🧵✨

See you in Basecamp,
The Yellow Brick Team
