We pushed quite a few engine changes in this most recent update and unfortunately it introduced a gamebreaking building placement bugs.
Our servers also moved to "always-on" to help speed up launch times, but this unfortunately caused a couple issues to pop up as well over the weekend.
Both issues have been fixed and we should be finished migrating to the new network/server code this week which we're optimistic will help increase connection times, reduce disconnects, and just have fewer bugs overall.
We anticipate some pretty big improvements these next two weeks so thanks for bearing with us as we get things in place for Steam NextFest next month!

We’re thrilled to finally start communicating with all of you as we begin this crazy journey into the world of Ritualist. This is our first game, and we’re just as excited (and maybe a little nervous) as you are! We’ve poured our hearts into creating a unique experience, and we can’t wait to share it with you.
So, what is Ritualist? Well, it’s a dark, isometric rogue-like set in the eerie, crumbling ruins of a mysterious castle. Your mission? To battle cultists, spirits, and otherworldly beings in an effort to lift the curse—if you can keep your sanity intact, that is.
Expect dynamic combat that’s inspired by souls-like games, attacks that feel meaningful, a complex loyalty system, and a ton of random events that’ll make each run feel like a new challenge. It’s all about risk and reward, so get ready to make some tough choices.
We’re a small team of 7 passionate folks who’ve been working non-stop to bring Ritualist to life. Some of us are old-school gamers, some of us are first-timers in the indie world, but we all share a love for creating something that will keep you coming back for more. We know our game isn’t perfect yet, but with your support, we’ll keep making it better with every update. Unfortunately, the playtest has been postponed to a later time. I'm not sure about the duration, so I don't want to give an estimated date yet.
However, I've started a closed alpha playtest. As soon as possible, I'll improve the game based on feedback from that playtest and fix the issues. Then I'll make the playtest available here.
