Note: This patch is pretty much just dedicated to medication. I forgot to add this stuff before the full release. I will have another patch out soon that will change the tier 4 spirit box's gimmick. Also forgot to change that before the full release.
Changes:
Medication tier 2 can now be used twice
Medication tier 3 can now be used three times
Medication tier 4 can now be used three times
Medication tier 4 speed boost changed from 50% to 20%
Medication tier 4 now has its own unique sound
Medication now have a UI element that tells you how many uses the medication has left
When using multiple different types of medication in a short time, the buff system will now favour what ever one was activated last instead of the highest level one.
Bug Fixes:
Lighters will no longer show a ghost version of the previously placed item when holding down the "place" button
Buff system has been remade, fixing some buff related bugs in the process

Competitive Leaderboards
The new leaderboards will show the Top 100 players with the fastest times to finish the game. The score will only update if you make a new save after this patch and it is not new game plus. I am so curious to see what strategies everyone comes up with and hope you have fun with this new feature.
New Tutorial
The new tutorial will help new comers with the unusual mechanics of the game with audio and visual guides. There is an option to skip this for new players.
Shiny or Glossy Animals
If you approach a group of animals look out if any of them have a different colour. If found, these animals will drop the best stats in the game!
Bug fixes
- The General Teleport bug fixed - The Forge has be temporarily replaced by a energy capacity improvement system - Colossal Blast bug when released sometimes does not fire - King and Queen dialogue bug which some players could not progress - Extinction Attack and Creation XP increase - Sleep traps in tarnished tribe now work while flying - Spri does not fall under map in Assassin Questline
There are many more bug fixes still to come and more updates. I hope you enjoy this and sorry it has been while. Would like to thank Caxy for helping me out with the bug list and testing the leaderboards with me! Also like to thank all of you who still continue to support the game!
We'll be working over the next few months to finalise the game ready for release. This'll be our final post in this devlog series, so thank you to all who have joined us along the way. Further updates on the release itself will be made available on our usual channels (*cough* social media).
As the release is only a short while away, as you'd expect we have been working on adding the finishing touches to the game. It's been a pleasure working with everyone to get all these aspects complete and I'm glad we'll be able to share them all with you soon.
One aspect I've really enjoyed working on is the 'extra' touches to the game. One of these will be our 'quiz' mini-game used to unlock the guest art gallery. Our mock-up below gives some idea of what this will be like!
Big emphasis on mock-up. We'll be improving the visuals and clarity of the screen before release to make sure that everything functions properly, but the idea is to be tested on your knowledge of the Sounds of Her Love lore in order to unlock special artwork from a variety of talented artists.
Other additional features include adding in 'NVL' menus for certain scenes to improve the flow of the script. NVL menus present multiple lines on the screen at a time, in a window that takes up the entire screen.
In terms of remaining updates, we will be working on saving those for the full release. I have always held the belief to keep the sweetest moments of the game unspoilt, so expect to see the fullest of our custom artwork, voice acting and music on display once Sounds of Her Love 2 releases.

As we approach the 8-year anniversary of the original game, it's no surprise that this universe and these characters (especially Ceri) have a special place in our heart and it is always heart-warming to hear how many people discovered the winder visual novel medium/genre through SOHL.
