Since Steam Page release I was extremely surprised by the amount of people interested in the game. First of all, I would like to take a moment to sincerely thank everyone who has shown support to my project. I do not think many people will read these lines, but it is important for me to say it out loud.

Many of you probably already know about playtests. Deadlock is the most notable example where Playtesters actually play game actively as if it was another game in their library and there are even tournaments going on. In simple terms - you get to experience what game is, of course, for free.

There are multiple options of how Playtest can be organised, but so far I think I will do this:
1. Compile a full build of the game (not a demo or prologue) but remove unbalanced or unfinished parts to ensure less "random" experience
2. Wait until Twitch approves the game so that anyone willing to create content has a reasonable opportunity to do so
3. Do "waves" of playtests, clearly communicating with players what is happening and gathering valuable opinions, and hopefully giving enough time to enjoy the game, given that I designed it to be played for days, at least.

It is first Playtest to ever be launched by me, and I hope to do it as smooth as possibly. Please, allow for some understanding if it does not go according to your expectations - I am open to any critical feedback. You can write me directly in the Discord channel.

In preparation for the GDWC competition, we've been working hard and have released new demo content in December!
Compared to demo version 0.1, it's almost a complete overhaul, and we welcome players who have tried the demo before to give it another go!

This update introduces Coachmans, which will help players instantly travel to desired locations (for example, to settle in the Ancestors Valley in Southern Iteria). The inventory size has been increased, new Agriculture abilities have been added, swords and Witchcraft abilities have been strengthened.

Changelog for Update 2.2.379

What's New:
- Coachmans have been added near the tavern, in the City, and at the Port, allowing players to be transported to their desired location for a small fee. The stablehand no longer handles this.
- A Coachman has also been added in the Desert on the PvE server. Remember, you can build and set up dominiums in the Ancestors Valley in the desert, and the Coach will make this even more convenient.
- The cost of relocation for small and medium dominiums has been reduced by 10 times.
- The inventory size has been increased by 5 slots.
- Four new passive Agriculture abilities have been added.
- Leather Belt and Hardened Leather Belt now provide 1 extra slot, allowing for 5 additional quick access slots in the early stages of the game.
- You can now hang a Christmas wreath on Marble and Castle gates.

Witchcraft:
- The attack power and critical hit chance of Witcher swords have been increased.
- Battle Thirst is no longer interrupted by damage taken. Health consumption is reduced by half.
- Fire Blast is no longer interrupted by damage taken. Self-ignition duration has been reduced from 5 seconds to 2 seconds. Cooldown has been decreased from 30 to 25 seconds. Base damage has increased by 15%.
- Weakness: base casting speed has been reduced from 3 seconds to 2 seconds.

Fixes:
- Spawn rates for nests and ores in the plains and forests of Iteria have been increased.
- To reduce server load, the density of insignificant spawns and instant respawns has been optimized.
- The number of daily quests given by the fisherman has been reduced from 3 to 2.
- The monetary rewards for daily quests from the fisherman have been decreased, but resource rewards have been increased.
- For the active ability Gatherer’s Experience, a casting time of 4 seconds (with the option to interrupt) has been added, and the cooldown has been increased to 90 seconds.
- The progression of characteristics for the first tiers of the Miner’s Backpack is now smoother (more slots and less slowdown).
- The icon of the scroll above loading screen hints has been changed.
- Fixed invisible walls in the Echo Cave.
- Fixed an issue with an invisible wall in the swamps.
- Fixed a bug with passing through walls in the city.

Pilots, it’s time to look at the results of the Big Winter Survey! Today we’re going to reveal all the secrets of who actually plays these computer games of yours. Let’s fly on!


In total, almost 1000 people completed the survey.

As it turns out, most pilots are between the ages of 24 and 35. This is almost 38%. Another 23% said they were “an old Thar’Ga”. And almost 22% were older than 35. Pre-retirement age!

As we thought, almost all of our pilots are boys. There are almost 89% of them. Another 5% of pilots are girls. The rest are biomorphs.

More than 34% are from Western Europe. Another 29% are from North America. And 18% are from Eastern Europe. The rest are scattered around the world.

In addition to shooting biomorphs, more than 52% of respondents also work! Our condolences. 15% are studying. More than 16% are UMC mercenaries. The rest are retirees, managers of the universe, and astral explorers. That’s what they mentioned in the “Other” column.

The majority of players learned about the Star Conflict universe from advertising on websites. This is 33%. Another 27% were invited by friends. And 11% played with their brothers a long time ago and now decided to come back and remember how great it was. The years go by. The universe is heading toward its thermal death...

Almost 64% of respondents said that they are so old that they saw how the universe began, how worlds were created and destroyed... They’ve been playing the game for that long. Another 24% have been playing for more than a year. 4% play for six months. And another 7% have just started playing.

At the same time, almost 80% of the pilots in the game reached rank 13 and above. And there are only 6% of beginners with a level up to 6.

Preferences on the sides of the conflict were divided almost evenly:



Our pilots play a lot. 30% noted that they disappear in the game for several days a week. And another 66% spend a couple of hours a week playing the game. Another 4% do leave the game at all.

Most of all, players like to play PvE. There are 77% of them. Another 18% prefer to explore the Open space. And 39% enjoy playing PvP.

Almost 56% play computer games every day. Another 16% play 3–4 days a week.

Most of all, pilots love to play space simulators. There are 47% of such players. Another 42% like strategy games. 39% prefer fantasy RPGs. And 38% like action games. The Cyberpunk theme is close to 20% of players. Here you could choose multiple answers.

  • I remember playing Star Conflict back in 2015-2017 for about 3,000 hours when I was around 8-10 and I was absolutely hooked, but in recent years I haven't really played as there isn't an english (or really any) playerbase at all. It's amazing to see my childhood game still receiving updates. I still love the flying dynamics and the GRAPHICS, (this game is SO beautiful).
