We’ve been hard at work preparing a ton of exciting updates for you. As we approach our first public test from December 20th to 22nd, we’re thrilled to share what’s been happening behind the scenes. This test marks the beginning of a series of public trials that will allow you, our players, to experience and help shape Godforged: Origins of Ozgalor. But before we open the gates, let’s dive into the latest developments.
Masselite Corruption: A System of Choices and Consequences
One of the most defining aspects of Godforged: Origins of Ozgalor is the Masselite Corruption System. This core mechanic seamlessly blends narrative and gameplay in a way that feels both fresh and deeply engaging. While this system is still in its conceptual phase and will come with later builds, its full potential will unfold as the game develops. Here’s a preview of what’s in store:
The Essence of Corruption
Masselite is a mysterious and volatile material that powers much of the lands magic and technology. However, its use comes with dire consequences, as it slowly corrupts the environment, creatures, and even items it touches. This corruption serves as the foundation of a multi-layered system that impacts every aspect of the game. Here’s a glimpse of its key components:
Land Corruption: Entire zones in Ozgalor have succumbed to Masselite’s influence. Clearing these corrupted areas not only restores the land but also unlocks new opportunities—such as access to NPCs, vendors, and quests in residential zones. Non-residential zones, on the other hand, transform from barren wastelands back into lush environments teeming with life.
Infested Creatures: Corrupted beasts roam the land, ranging from partially afflicted creatures that can still be cleansed to monstrous abominations beyond salvation. Deciding how to deal with these threats—whether through purification or destruction—is a choice that will shape your journey.
Corrupted Items: Rare and powerful artifacts tainted by corruption offer immense potential but at great risk. Players can wield their cursed power or cleanse them to create potent, albeit slightly diminished, relics.
Places of Power: Ancient Dremari altars scattered across Ozgalor have been corrupted, presenting unique challenges and opportunities for those brave enough to cleanse them.
The Corruption Levels
The system operates on two levels—zone corruption and world corruption:
Zone Corruption: Each region’s corruption level fluctuates based on your actions. Reducing it unlocks specific events, restores the area’s vitality, and brings new gameplay opportunities.
World Corruption: This global meter reflects the cumulative impact of player efforts across all zones. As the world corruption level shifts, major events unfold, altering both the narrative and gameplay in significant ways.
Your Role as the Godforged
As a Godforged, you’ll have a critical role in determining how corruption is handled. Infuse it for personal gain, earning Masselite skill points that enhance your powers—but beware, as this increases your own corruption and affects how the world perceives you. Alternatively, destroy the source of corruption to restore balance without personal risk, though this path offers fewer immediate rewards. These decisions will have lasting consequences, making every choice a pivotal moment in your journey.
While this is just a glimpse of the system’s potential, we’re excited to showcase how Masselite Corruption shapes the world of Godforged: Origins of Ozgalor. More details will unfold as the game evolves. So stay tuned for future updates!
World and Lore: Crafting the Ebonvale Uplands
While the Masselite Corruption system has been a major focus, our creative team has been tirelessly bringing the world of Ozgalor to life. In this update, we’re proud to reveal some of the work that’s gone into the Ebonvale Uplands and its iconic centerpiece, Castle Ebongard.
The Ebonvale Uplands
This rugged, mountainous region of Ozgalor is a land of stark contrasts—majestic peaks shrouded in mist, lush valleys dotted with ancient ruins, and treacherous paths haunted by corruption. Our environmental artists and concept designers have been hard at work crafting this breathtaking zone, and we’re thrilled to give you a sneak peek into what lies ahead.
Castle Ebongard: Standing as a bastion of hope and resilience, Castle Ebongard is both a fortress and a symbol of the duchy’s storied past. Its towering spires and intricate architecture reflect the strength and determination of those who call it home. The design of this castle blends rich historical influences with the fantastical elements of Ozgalor, creating a location that feels both grounded and awe-inspiring.
Secrets of Ozgalor: Over the next few months, we’ll be showcasing some of the stunning concept art and environmental designs that bring the Ebonvale Uplands to life. From misty forests to ancient ruins, every detail has been crafted to immerse players in the world of Godforged.
We’re excited to share more about the Ebonvale Uplands and Castle Ebongard in early 2025, including behind-the-scenes looks at the creative process and additional previews of this captivating new zone.

The DLC Splitter Pack is also now available, including a suit, items, Freelancer mode decorations, and access to the Replication - a two-level arcade mission featuring The Splitter - indefinitely through the Elusive Target Arcade.
In this new role, JCVD stars as Max Valliant, once one of ICA’s best operatives who was thought to have been successfully dealt with years ago after discovering that he was dealing with other organizations, but he is now back with a vengeance. He has now resurfaced, taking control of an ICA data storage facility in Chongqing, and requesting a meeting with the ICA board. Agent 47’s mission will be threefold: escorting an ICA board member within the facility, uncovering Max Valliant’s sinister agenda, and most importantly, taking down Max Valliant.
The mission will be available to play, for free, for newcomers to HITMAN in the Free Starter Pack, with the possibility of replaying the mission as many times as they wish, for the mission's duration. HITMAN World of Assassination players can access the Splitter, for free and try to unlock the reward that comes with the completion of the challenge.
