Gameplay
VLS
Since the release of the VLS, we've received a flood of feedback for improvements. As a major gameplay-changing feature, we're committed to making rapid updates based on your input. One key concern raised is the overly significant vision advantage provided by the VLS without any risk. We're thus reducing the timing and range of vision gained, and increasing the stun after landing. These adjustments are likely to be further refined during Preseason. Additionally, starting with next week's Season start, we'll make improvements for responses to the VLS. vision indicators for enemies spotted by the VLS. We're planning to implement a feature where gliding enemies detected in your vision will trigger a vision marker, and their position will be indicated on the ground.
The replacement of Hyperloops with VLS devices on Day 3 has also added some frustration due to reduced long-distance movement options. While this limitation was intentional, it may have been too abrupt a change. To address this, starting next week, VLS devices will be replaced by Hyperloops while inside Restricted Areas.
Another common feedback we've received is that the VLS makes chasing enemies too easy. The ability to purchase Mobile VLS devices from the V-Pad quick slot for 100 Credits allowed players to secure returns by successfully chasing enemies. While this purchase was intended as a Preseason-only trial, it will be removed in today's hotfix. The vision advantage mentioned earlier should also be significantly reduced without the Mobile VLS.
We're also making some improvements to the VLS devices control. However, since control adjustments directly impact Host benefits, these changes will be introduced gradually alongside reductions to strategic advantages.
We'd also like to sincerely apologize for the VLS animations and visuals falling short of your expectations. We are actively working to enhance various aspects, including the transition from vertical launch to gliding, the gliding visuals, overlapping issues when teammates board together, and individual character animations. While these improvements will take longer compared to other adjustments, we aim to present meaningful improvements by mid-season.
We'll continue monitoring and implementing your feedback to make the VLS a better feature for everyone.
We're improving control during gliding.

Secret Labs
This new area currently has excessively high rewards. To balance this, we're lowering the overall value of their rewards. The Loop Card Key - γ for the Blue Secret Lab, where you can find Gamma, will now be only included in Air Supply Boxes. We've also identified that the vision gained upon leaving Secret Labs has been overly valuable, particularly for high-tier players. To address this, we're restricting the use of vision information from Exit Loops on Day 5 . We're also exploring options to limit the type of vision information provided upon exiting labs in future updates.

Salutations, our little leaping snow scientists, (editor's note: we've been up for a long time without sleep, okay?)
We’ve released a hotfix that should remove the digital corruption of IS-0083 that was directly responsible for the missing achievement unlock. That's based on real science. Anyway, you should be able to achieve that achievement now.
Please update your game and servers when you get a moment away from scientific study. If you don't receive an update, verify your game files.
We’re thrilled to introduce a new game we've been working on — Nighthold.
Nighthold
is a co-op sandbox RPG with survival elements, where you’ll need to build shelters, known as 'Nightholds,' interact with survivors, and fight off raiders and the Rot to survive another night. It all starts with a corporate starship crash, leaving the crew stranded on a harsh alien planet. Each night, the Rot rises from the ground — a mysterious phenomenon that destroys everything it can reach. To survive, the locals build Nightholds, or elevated shelters.
Your ultimate goal is to find a functioning escape pod to send a distress signal, but that’s much easier said than done: in addition to the relentless Rot, you’ll face rival human camps and uncover ancient technologies left behind by a lost civilization. But first of all, you must survive. Open World, Endless Possibilities The open, fully destructible world of Nighthold reacts to your every action, ensuring that everything you do leaves an impact. The game features realistic weather and fire systems: you can set a building ablaze and watch it burn to the ground. Craft, cook, fish, and interact with NPCs who live their own lives, build their own camps, and respond to your decisions. Form alliances, complete quests, or annihilate anyone who stands in your way. The world is alive, and your fate depends on how you engage with it.
Build by Day, Survive by Night
The day is your time to prepare: gather resources, craft tools and weapons, and fortify your Nighthold. But when night falls, the Rot emerges, infecting enemies, buildings, and even people around you. Defend against rotten enemies and control this mighty infection to turn the tide in your favour — or succumb to it yourself.
Together or Alone
Survive solo or team up with friends in seamless cross-platform co-op play. Work together to build, explore, and conquer the night — or face the challenges of this unforgiving world on your terms.
Make sure to wishlist Nighthold and stay tuned — more updates are coming soon!

Hooah, soldiers! We’re thrilled to announce that Army Ops will enter Open Alpha Access starting December 10, 2024! This is your chance to experience the game in its early stages and help shape its development.
The Open Alpha will not be available on Steam but instead as a classic download from our website: http://www.army-operations.com.
What’s Included in the Open Alpha?
The Open Alpha launches with 6 maps across two game modes:
Maps: Bridge, Creek, Hideout, Mountain Ambush, Proving Ground, and Sandstorm
Game Modes: Operation and Combat Encounter
Additional features in the Alpha:
Dedicated Server Files included (default tickrate: 60Hz).
Progression System: Rank up your character and classes, unlock a new class, and earn a weapon!
Important Reminder: This is an Alpha!
Remember, an Alpha means the game is still in early development. Nothing is final—bugs are expected, and features are subject to change. Here’s what you need to keep in mind:
Player Stats: Stats and progression will frequently reset as needed for testing.
Balancing: All progression and balancing is experimental and geared towards testing.
Player Counts: Don’t expect massive player counts just yet. Marketing efforts will ramp up as we progress through the roadmap (army-operations.com/#roadmap).
Steam vs. Non-Steam Builds
If you already have access to Army Ops through Steam (excluding Playtest or Test Server builds), you do not need a separate download. You can use the Steam build to play with others during the Open Alpha.
For those using the non-Steam build, an Epic Games Account will be required. Steam players will not need an Epic Games Account.
A Call for Patience and Support
Developed primarily by a single person, Army Ops is a labor of passion for the tactical shooter community. The Open Alpha is just the beginning—your feedback and support are vital as we move forward. Let’s build this together.
Gear up, soldiers, and see you on the battlefield!
