Minor improvements:

  • Make CPU teams smarter when initially targeting recruits, to look a bit further down for better potential recruits
  • Reduce auto-recruit penalty, now no penalty for normal and slightly less penalty on hard/legend
  • Raise expected prestige score for 9-10 star schools, remove playoff bonus for 10-star when in 6+ team playoff
  • Add 25% extra penalty for 10-star schools losing prestige if they have 50k+ prestige points
  • Add 'zoom' preference which can be configured in "Display Settings"

Bug fixes:
  • Fix marketing bonus not being applied for prestige gains in certain scenarios
  • Fix scheduling swap issues from throwing error

This update is mainly focused on balance, with an emphasis on recruiting and high-tier schools.

Right now I've seen those 10-star schools dominate after they get rolling (winning 5+ in a row, with #1 class each time), so I want to reduce that snowball effect. I've added a cap for total bonus priority points in recruiting to be +75, which prevents those superstar coaches/teams from having up to +150, which really makes a difference in recruiting. I've also increased playing time weight, so those really good teams may have a slightly harder time hoarding talent. And I changed prestige gains slightly, so there are higher expectations for 10-star schools, preventing them from keeping their 10-star rating as easily through down seasons.

I've also adjusted recruiting logic for CPU teams (and auto-recruit), which should make other teams smarter when initially targeting recruits and when battling for those recruits during the season. I hope this provides a more realistic challenge, but I've also adjusted the auto-recruit penalty to be less on 'normal' difficulty for those who don't enjoy the recruiting aspect as much.

A small update, primarily to fix a few things that were introduced in the previous version.

Patch Notes for Demo 0.8.1:

New Stuff & Tweaks
  • Gave the Options menu a small redesign to better accommodate controllers and general non-mouse input.
  • Made some tweaks to how the camera moves in Photo Mode, and expanded the panning range of the camera, allowing for a bit more freedom in framing your shot.
Bugfixes
  • Fixed some bugs relating to plugging/unplugging the controller while the game is running.
  • Fixed a bug where elephants would sometimes spawn in hovering a little bit above the ground.
Known Issues
  • There are still some problems with wildlife collision and pathfinding (particularly with the elephants), which should be addressed in the next update!
  • There's still a bug relating to plugging/unplugging different types of controllers during gameplay (eg. switching from an Xbox to a DualSense controller in the same play session). For now, this can be avoided by only using one type of controller for a given play session.
Starship Simulator Dev Playtest - Fleetyard Studios
  • The new sensors are now ~90% functional in multiplayer. It's mostly just the main star listing not replicating now due to packet size issues.
  • Added a throttle to some of the sensor data updates to stop the replication being overwhelmed.
  • Refined how numerous aspects of the sensors handle replication in an effort to optimise the network traffic.
  • Fixed the ship lighting being super bright in multiplayer games for clients.
  • F Deck, Ring 2 - Designed and modeled 2 new engineering floor panels.
  • F Deck, Ring 2 - Updated the framework geometry around the battery rooms.

There still seems to be a power issue with the sensors in multiplayer, where the Client sees them as always without power. It's working on local tests, but not in the live environment, so more testing is needed.

Greetings, adventurers!

This is Oliver Joyce from the Lair of the Leviathan team. Since our last update, David from Nostalgic Realms has been working hard on the game's location art. From dank, oppressive swamp towns to cozy taverns with crackling fireplaces, David is putting together a ton of art for the game, one pixel at a time.

Meanwhile, I've been working on the game engine itself. I have created a pretty powerful in-game editor, where I can do everything from add lights, points of interest and set the weather for the realm, I can also create encounters, conversations, link locations and more. I've also got the character creator fully built too. Next up for me is most likely the 'skills creator' so I can prepare for building combat in the game.

I've got party chatter conversations going in the game too. Although you custom create your own hero ( and you'll have to create up to 4 other custom heroes to join you), there will be the option to have pre-made heroes join the group too. These heroes will have their own personalities and comment on things they see and experience through the game.

Right now the in-game editor is just for David and I to use, but at some point if the game does well, I'd love to open it up to the public to allow people to make their own modded adventures for the game itself.

Last week I started linking encounters created in the Editor with the actual game itself. I've just uploaded a video which shows this off, check it out.



What you see above is the five heroes ( all just using a 'dwarf' figurine right now but they will all have unique and animated figurines to move) walking around the first town in the game, Stoneward. The heroes have full pathfinding, so they can navigate their way around buildings, go behind trees and find the most optimal path to where they are going. Both mouse and keyboard will be supported ( and gamepads too) as we are planning on hopefully porting the game to Switch and PS5 at some point.

Also in this video, two characters having a quick conversation. One of them rudely remarks the town stinks, and the other tells him he'll feel right at home. This kind of little banter will appear all through the game but won't interrupt game flow ( and I may even have an option to turn it off for players who want totally silent party members )

However, with all this built, we now turn our attention to the town itself! Notice how the town is using a "Top Down" view, same as the overworld view. This works for exteriors, but we've been experimenting wtih a potential 'side view' ( antfarm, dollhouse etc) for building interiors.

There are some practical reasons for switching to a side view for interiors.

  • It's faster to create art on the side view perspective
  • We don't have to worry about Y Sorting everything in crowded buildings ( where players can walk behind tables etc, this kind of pathfinding issue can be challenging to solve in interiors
  • It cuts down on the constant 'walking' in the game - less dead time. Meaning, on the side view, you'll just see icons above the blacksmith for 'Repair", or above the tavern patrons for "Rumours" and so on.

Exteriors, overworld, dungeons and combat will of course remain top down view.

What do you think of the proposed side view for interiors? Also, we'd love your feedback on how the game is coming along so far. We're realistically 9 months away from a decent playable demo, but we're hoping to have one out sometime in 2025. It takes a long time to put together a decent game engine and toolset , but once we have it all working robustly, the game's content itself should come along quite rapidly.

1. New Seasonal Token: <EXDRA>
- EXDRA (Expansion of DRACO) is a seasonal token designed to enhance the value of existing tokens.
- EXDRA tokens can be used to craft powerful equipment or traded freely on PNIX DEX.
- The first season of EXDRA tokens runs from November 26, 2024 to May 13, 2025 (24 weeks).
- The token for EXDRA Season 1 is named EXDRA1.
- EXDRA1 tokens have a fixed issuance limit and can be obtained through various methods, such as in-game crafting, Hydra Staking, and Play Token purchases.
- EXDRA Tokens can still be used or traded freely after the season ends.

2. New Equipment: <Ancient Treasure>
- Unlike existing equipment, Ancient Treasures are powerful new equipment that grow sequentially through the ‘Promote’ system.
- Ancient Treasure can be upgraded from Uncommon grade to Mythic grade, with more powerful unique effects unlocked as they progress from Epic grade onward.
- You can craft boxes containing Ancient Treasure in the EXDRA Token Exchange Shop.
- The Ancient Treasure that can be obtained by exchanging EXDRA1 tokens is the ‘Ragnos's Ring.’

3. New Growth-Oriented Magical Soul Orb: <Special Magical Soul Orb>
- Unlike regular Magical Soul Orbs which have EXP, Special Magical Soul Orbs use a ‘Promote’ system, leveling up by using identical Special Magical Soul Orbs as materials.
- Special Magical Soul Orbs can be upgraded from Common grade to Mythic grade, with more powerful unique effects unlocked as they progress from Epic grade onward.
- Special Magical Soul Orbs can be crafted from boxes available in the EXDRA Token Exchange Shop.
- The Special Magical Soul Orb that can be obtained by exchanging EXDRA1 tokens is ‘드라카잔 마령주’.

6. NFT Transactions Restricted to Mainnet Chain and Unsealing Limited to the Sealed Server
1) Character NFT Transactions Limited to Mainnet Chain
- MIR4 character NFTs can now only be traded via the Mainnet Chain.
※ MIR4 NFTs are based on the Tornado Chain and must remain on the Tornado Chain for creation and use. Switching to the Mainnet Chain to sell your NFT will incur a gas fee (WEMIX).
- The WEMIX PLAY Marketplace (beta), which supported Tornado Chain NFT transactions, will no longer allow new registrations or transactions for Tornado Chain NFTs.
- To trade NFTs listed on the WEMIX PLAY Marketplace (beta), you must retrieve them, convert them to the Mainnet, and sell them via WEMIX PLAY.

9. All Servers Power Score Ranking System
1) All Servers Power Score Ranking Details
- Overview: The All Servers Power Score Ranking system measures the power score of all Dragonians across all servers and determines rankings to distribute rewards accordingly (this includes the Boosting World Server).
- Ranking Criteria: Rankings are calculated based on power score across all servers, from 1st to 10,000th place.
- How to Check Rankings: Rankings can be viewed in the [Official Forum > Power Score Ranking] section.
- Reward: The ‘Glorious Red Septaria Box’ which contains materials for crafting EXDRA1 tokens.
- Reward Distribution: Rewards are sent via in-game mail once per week (Monday) based on calculated rankings.

2) Important Notes
- All Servers Power Score Rankings for all servers cannot be checked in-game and is currently under development for viewing via [Official Forum > Power Score Rankings].
- Although the ranking check feature is not yet available, ranking rewards will be distributed starting from December 2nd.
- We are working to complete the ranking check feature as soon as possible, and we will notify all Dragonians upon its completion.

2. [Mirage Ship] Improved Mirage Ship World 7 and 8 Field Boss reward boxes (Epic/Legendary) to guarantee at least one item drop.
