Beacon - Zipfinator
As we've been shutting down the operations of Monothetic, we've collected a selection of past versions of Beacon that we've uploaded to https://archive.org/details/beacon_collection for anyone who's interested in exploring past versions of the game. We've hand selected only the finest builds extending from the very earliest prototypes in 2015 to the end of Early Access in 2022. We understand that this is a niche game with a small audience interested in exploring the past of the game, but for the dedicated players who are interested we wanted to show how the game has evolved over each year of development. Included are early prototype builds that have never been released before, the earliest public demos we shared at various conventions before our Early Access release, and various milestones throughout our First Access and Early Access releases.

As well as past versions of the game, we've spent the last few months assembling a digital art book to document the two projects we developed over our 12 years as Monothetic. The book collects concepts, mockups, explorations, visualizations, previews, renders, screenshots, and insights from Beacon along with our original FPS interdimensional horror game that we scrapped, Haven. We scoured dozens of folders and archives of our work as Monothetic to try and share the fullest picture of our efforts over both projects. The digital art book and previous builds can be found at the link below.

We'd like to again thank everyone who supported us throughout our lengthy development, and hopefully this selection of builds and collection of our artistic efforts is interesting to some of our fans.
The Lost Legends of Redwall™: The Scout Anthology - Invisible Bob
Hello, woodlanders! Today we have fixes for the three broken achievements, as well as an attempt to fix a crash on start issue for Mac. Thank you to everyone who has reported these and other issues, and thank you for your patience!

Fixes in this patch:
  • Fixed distance moved tracking so it doesn't reset every time the game is closed. This makes getting the Scouting Ahead achievement more reasonable.
  • Fixed a breakable pot in Portman's Slough not being targetable. This makes getting the Bog Breaker achievement possible.
  • Changed the requirements for the Sus achievement so that it is obtainable. We'll leave the exact requirements a mystery, but it's not too hard.
  • Potential fix for an issue that caused the game to crash on launch on MacOS.

Ostranauts - Blue Bottle Games, LLC
Hey Folks!

Ostranauts v0.14.1.3 is now available on Steam, and your clients should be updating shortly.

This is a hotfix update to our recently released "Across the System" update, and makes some improvements to how the quick actions menu, tooltips, and Esc key work.

Saves from v0.14.0.0 and later should work. Note that if you were experiencing issues in the older save, this patch may fix some, but others may persist depending on the cause.

  • MegaTooltip and Quick Action Buttons no longer close when inventory opens.
  • Tooltip no longer goes out of screen.
  • Quick Action Buttons no longer goes off screen when target does.
  • Esc key will now do actions in the following order: exit PDA, exit control panel, deselect item, close inventory, close Esc menu, close zones UI, then open Esc menu.
  • Middle mouse button dragging now pans the camera.
  • Quick Action Buttons now temporarily hides instead of closing while item is attached to inventory cursor.
  • Quick Action Buttons no longer opens on paperdoll wounds.
  • Dragging the Quick Action Buttons no longer clicks through, causing character to pathfind to clicked tile underneath.
  • REDACTED ship comms rumors no longer appear in Quick Action Buttons when player selects self.
  • Quick Action Buttons buttons are no longer illegible and dark if they had an unrecognized action type.

Most of the changes here address issues players ran into with the new floating Quick Action Buttons (QAB) and tooltips.

Previously, the QAB would close when the inventory opened, or snap to the inventory copy of the target if applicable. And both cases erased the pinned setting and location the user chose earlier. This patch should now honor that pinned location until the user changes it manually.

Furthermore, some targets would go off-screen with the QAB following, making it invisible/unusable. The QAB now stops at the edge of the screen when its target goes off-screen.

This goes for tooltips now, as well. They should remain on screen and legible even when the mouse is over an item near the top/bottom of the screen.

The Esc key also had a few changes made to it, so it can more reliably back out of open menus and UIs in sequence. It previously would sometimes close multiple UIs at once, but should now close them in a more logical order. Also not that the Esc key can now deselect the current object, closing the QAB and MegaTooltip. (The old way, left-clicking the selected object, still works.)

Since some users mentioned they expected the middle mouse button to allow camera panning, we decided to add that, since it was pretty simple to support!

And we included a few other fixes for bugs and edge cases.

Note that we have a few more HUD changes on the way, including a change to the date/time widget, and the current selected character portrait. So things are still going to move around a bit.

As always, there's plenty more for us to fix, change, and add! And we'll be continuing in roughly that order. In the meantime, let us know if this patch helps you out, as well as if it reveals new problems!

Best,
Daniel Fedor

OneShot: World Machine Edition - GIR
v1.24.11.19.0
-Added save redundancy system for most save files, so that 2 backups of save files will be kept in case of issues involving save corruption.
-Also added better error handling for loading save files and settings files, which should hopefully take care of the occasional "object reference not set to an instance" bug that was seen occasionally.
-Removed Wallpaper and Theme selectors from Customization App since most people change these from the Wallpaper and Theme folders on the desktop anyways.
-Added V-sync toggle and "Badge Notifications" toggle to Customization App.
-Added option to turn off fullscreen borders on OneShot window when maximized.
-Also added another fullscreen scaling option for OneShot window when maximized, "integer", which will scale the oneshot screen to the highest whole number multiple it can fit on the screen (for example, in 1080p resolution it will scale the OneShot screen to 1280x960, a 2x multiple).
-Fixed rare softlock that could occur when using the bell in the secret ram room.
-Added special characters for European name input screens and Russian name input screen, to better support the languages' characters.
-Fixed minor graphical bug where certain rooms (like Maize's room) would show as blank/collision tiles for the first frame of a map transition.
-Fixed minor graphical bug where fireflies wouldn't show up in Glen maps until 2 frames after the map transition began.
