The two weeks after the launch were quite difficult, as the game suffered from critical bugs that would only happen on very specific scenarios that were very hard to reproduce. But this is the past! Now that everything seems to work fine, it's time to look at the future, starting with version 1.1.
Version 1.1 adds two major features: New Game+ and Perks.
New Game+
If you're a newcomer, you might regard Roots of Harmony as a tough game. If you're too shy about capturing new lands, or if you're too aggressive, you can find yourself in difficult situations, sometimes unmanageable. But when you understand how to please other factions, and when you anticipate enemy waves, the game is not that hard, and can become not challenging enough. This is where New Game+ comes to the rescue!
New Game+ increases the challenge of the game in various ways:
The island is slightly bigger.
Threat from all empires increases when you reach a new phase. Building peacefully in your little corner hoping that no one will notice you is no longer possible.
New set of milestones that forces you to ally to three different factions. This alliance will force you to explore more lands, and to deal with factions that do not necessarily share the same doctrines with each other.
Doctrine instability: if you take too many doctrines, your people will lose their cohesion and start to disagree with each other. Fewer doctrines mean fewer disciples, so you'll have to use them even more wisely than before.
Monolith: this new landmark, only available in New Game+, allows you to ascend your disciples. In exchange for their wisdom, their stats can be improved, depending on what Monolith they ascend to.
You need more buildings to reach the next phase.
Jewels and artefacts give fewer reputation points.
You need to finish a standard game before unlocking New Game+.
Perks
So far choosing a doctrine would unlock a disciple, and also allows you to select more options during the events that occur at the end of the turn. But now in 1.1, doctrines also unlock a set of Perks. For now, there are two perks per doctrine, but there's obviously room for more.
Each perk has a set of requirements. If you fulfil all of them, the perk is "active", otherwise it's "inactive".
To benefit from the effects of a perk, it must be active. The reason behind that is that I'd like the player to face difficult choices, where choosing one option could deactivate one perk and then change the outcome of a battle, an event, or a strategic decision.
For now, each doctrine has two perks: one that offers a unique behaviour, such as Necromancy or Conversion; and one that unlocks a Champion. And because there are 12 doctrines, version 1.1 brings 12 new disciples!
Champions are special: they have a lot more HP, move faster and deal more damage. However, you are limited to 1 type of Champion at all times. In other words, if you unlock two doctrines, you cannot have more than two Champions.
Changelog
- Added: New Game+. - Added: Perks. - Added: a new menu to show all buildings from all phases. - Added: information about the strength of the waves that your enemies can send at you. This information is available in the faction menu. - [1.1.1] Added: mouse support.
- Changed: the Cultist is now more melee oriented. - Changed: the Skirmisher is now more range oriented. - Changed: the name of the Preacher to Sermoniser, to avoid any confusion with the "preaching" task. It won't change the name of your current disciples if you load a game after the update.
- Various fixes and typos.
What's Next?
Roots of Harmony has a lot of room for improvements and new features. If the game receives a few more good reviews, I will be able to continue updating it for quite a while :-) For now, I have plans until 1.4, and that includes a big new feature that will bring a totally new concept in the game, in the form of rituals and dreams. So stay tuned and enjoy this new version!
Hello! Today the new version of SurvivalWorld is officially released, with a lot of important content.
First of all, the 5 caves of the existing game were redesigned, added to the addition of another 10 caves, giving us a total of 15. Each cave contains different minerals, resources, there are large ones, small ones, and medium ones, plus there is a large amount of creatures that will appear during the time you are in it. You can build inside them without any problem, although you will have some visitors.
As for the world, it has been expanded with a new area of pastylands, a larger lava crack, with minerals, and so on. In addition to some visual changes
A new creature was added, the Yeti, it can attack you with normal blows or hold you to death in its hands.
Interfaces such as inventory and so on now have a more brown color
New building blocks were added, such as dark stone and white stone, both their polished versions. Other decorative blocks such as paintings (More variants of paintings will be added in future updates) A sofa, different cabinets, and tables.
Many bugs were corrected, related to rotation bugs, animation bugs, now you cannot investigate two same materials at the same time. There was a bug that caused your pet's name to be permanently displayed on the screen.
There is now a small loading screen when entering the world, this was designed more than anything to avoid FPS drops while the caves finish loading.
🧠 **Smarter AI:** AI-controlled players now deliver more accurate passes and execute advanced plays more smoothly.
🎮 **New tactical commands:** From the first-person view, you can issue tactical instructions regardless of whether you control using your hand or head.
🧤 **More challenging goalkeepers:** Improved goalkeeper skills for stopping long-distance shots, especially on higher difficulty levels. Perfect for those seeking a real challenge!
✨ **Optimized graphics:** Enhanced materials and textures for Quest 3, making the first-person experience even more immersive.

Treasure hunting is an activity full of mysteries and surprises. And one of these surprises is that the desire to get the treasure has appeared and opponents! And that means that the number of cards they carry has increased!
We regularly read your wishes and try to realize them! That is why it was decided to slightly change the rules of Dave's treasure hunt, so that you can get more fun from this event. To realize this goal, the number of treasure cards you get for killing bosses has been increased by 2.5 times! And the “Goblin Bank” will offer up to 25% discount on treasure cards from today until the end of the event!
We sincerely hope that these changes will allow you to enjoy this event!
Important: Restart the game for the changes to take effect!
The WolfQuest Saga is now in public beta on Steam! See instructions at bottom of this post for instructions on how to switch to the public beta branch. If you'd rather wait until the full release, that's fine, it won't be too long!
But first, a couple things:
The Saga is in good shape, but there's a chance that it might break an existing save or family tree, so please make a backup of your User Files folder. Just copy and paste the whole folder onto your desktop or wherever you like.
Now most important: Treat the Saga like it's a new game! While much of the game is the same, the Saga brings many changer to existing gameplay and features, along with the new Saga quests and gameplay. Don't assume that everything works exactly how it did before. Please peruse the Game Help (now available in the main menu of the game), especially the new About the Saga section. It's pretty long, but if you're wondering if something you're seeing in the game is a bug or intentional, that's a good place to check. The Game Help is also much improved in general, with better entries about various gameplay features.
Similarly, even if you have logged hundreds of hours logged in the game, be sure to enable Tutorials and Common Notifications in Game Settings, as those will give you important information when you reach something that's new or different.
Now a few tips about Saga gameplay: * You really want to prioritize your wolf's health. Without good health, everything else becomes much harder, including keeping your pups and packmates alive and healthy. * Your yearlings and subordinates are not duplicates of your mate. They won't help much with marking territory (that's the job of the pack leaders). They will help hunt, but if they see enough other wolves taking on the risks, they're happy to freeride and get an easy meal without taking damage. * Your packmates will eat reguritant if they're hungry, but they'll wait until the pups of the year have mostly filled up. They're pretty polite about that, but not totally polite. * Sickness and low health is extra dangerous for pups now. Sick pups move slowly, as do pups with low health -- they're not speedy if you woof them into the den during a pup raid, and can be picked off by predators more easily. * Don't expect all of your pups to survive, even on Easy difficulty. That's not the way of the wild. * If you come across a bug, please do use the in-game Bug Reporter! And pleeease give us a lot of details, don't just say "mate isn't working right" -- tell us what you were doing, what's happening, and what you expected to happen. * You can load a saved game in Loaf at Rendezvous Site or Endless Summer quests and carry on into the Saga quests -- but it's not a bad idea to start a new game to try out the Saga, and we don't recommend playing on Accurate difficulty this first time either. (And if you do, expect that things can get hairy.)
So there it is! The Saga is in public beta, on Steam. If you're interested, check it out!
_____________________ TO GET THE BETA BUILD 1) In the Steam app, go to your Library, then right-click on the WolfQuest: AE name in the left column and choose Properties. 2) Then go to the Betas tab and select the WQ current Beta option in the pulldown. No password is necessary. Steam should then start downloading it. Later you can switch back to the public version in that Betas tab, by selecting NONE in that pulldown.
