Trading with Miklagard


A new faction has reached Northgard, through a famous merchant from Miklagard!

Miklagard is a faction outside of the game. To get a Diplomatic Victory, you'll need to send them krowns and get their favours! But be warned, the diplomatic war extend to other clans, and you'll have to spend a lot of your income to reach victory!

To gain influence with Miklagard, you can trade through trading posts and docks with relevant knowledge. Trading will grant strong bonuses but will require active engagement on your end. Miklagard wealth is desired by many, and you'll have to fight for their favours.
Gather the most influence, crush your rivals diplomatically and claim victory!




New Balancing


Reduced the domination of the Hounds Clan during early-game by weakening their units at the start of a game. This adjustment slows down their initial progress and scaling, while maintaining their late-game strength. This aims to balance gameplay without diminishing the clan's power in the later stages, making it reach peak strength a bit later.
The Owl Clan has been adjusted to diversify its role in multiplayer. A scouting bonus has been added to its Fame 200 to make scouting more attractive, alongside a community-requested nerf to Parasitic Vegetables to balance its power.
The Squirrel Clan’s meal effect for allies now scales over time, increasing the impact in later stages of the game. This adjustment is intended to make the Squirrel Clan a more viable and competitive support option in multiplayer settings.
The Boar Clan unique aspects, particularly the Menders, have been enhanced to bring them in line with the current meta and make better use of the clan's specific abilities and strengths in multiplayer.
The Snake Clan’s Scorched Earth ability has been reverted to work only in neutral or enemy territory, thus correcting the unintended change allowing it to be triggered on the clan’s own land.
The Stag Clan’s Glory of the Clan knowledge has been updated to account for its new retroactive effect, ensuring it is balanced with recent changes and functions as intended in gameplay.

New Trade Victory!

You can win by gathering 50% of Influence toward Miklagard, the foreign Faction. There are many way to do that
  • Trading with them using trading post and docks
  • Eliminating Neutral Factions to absorb a part of their influence
  • Defating opposing Clans and taking their influence
  • Using your diverse knowledges and start-with to improve your relation toward them

    • Effects of Meals for allies scale from 50% to 100% with the relationship between the Squirrel and ally clan.
    Kingdoms (Lions + Stoat)
    • Kingdom weapon forges effects have been divided by 2, and their occurance chance increased from 10% to 20%. (so it should be roughly the same as before overall)
    Lion
    • Marchfield increases weapon forges chance to proc by +50% > +25%.
Others
  • AI - Rework of some system management of AI. Might result in slight AI behavior changes.
    More rework and tweaking are in the work.
  • Conquest - Battles 1v3 and 2v6 have been rebalanced to be 1v2 and 2v4 instead, to adjust the difficulty following changes on the AI.

  • Resolved an issue in Chapter 1 where Safi’s voice lines aren’t playing when taking her snapshot.
  • (German only) Resolved an issue in Chapter 1 where part of the text in the Caledon acceptance letter is in the wrong language.
  • Resolved an issue in Chapter 2 where after talking to Lucas in the living timeline, users can step on the chair where Lucas was sitting.
  • Resolved an issue in Chapter 2 where under certain circumstances when sneaking around in Moses' office to get Safi’s camera, Max can’t go downstairs.

  • Russian Terms of Service has been updated with the correct date.

Outstanding Issues

There are a few issues we are aware of and are looking to fix in an upcoming patch. These include:
  • Missing voice lines in Chapter 5.
  • Infinite loading issues on PC, affecting a small number of players/hardware configurations.
  • Achievements not appearing from Early Access into full launch.

  • Small tweaks to some enemies that no one will ever notice under any circumstances

The legendary warriors have arrived!

It's time for new playable characters! Zombie mode has also received some balancing changes. Zombies are a bit slower now but have more responsive pathfinding. There is also a 'little' surprise in there to shake some things up.



Additions:

  • Added two new playable characters
  • Added new firearms
  • New firearm SFX and VFX
  • Leaderboards for zombies and beer drinking, will be reset periodically
  • New melee weapons
  • Mouse can be inverted

Fixes:

  • Fatal error when changing a map
  • Particle effects and SFX should replicate correctly with projectiles
  • Weapons no more collide with players after dropping
  • Bikes should not get stuck to players anymore
  • Performance improvements across the board

As a sidenote, if the server is feeling laggy chances are the host does not have a capable PC to run the game. Running the game with suboptimal PC might lead to unexpected behaviour for all connected clients.

I'll be monitoring the new patch and deploying hotfixes if necessary. Demo will also receive an update tomorrow.
