We've been hard at work recently, and wanted to share some of the cool things we've been up to in Coridden, so let's jump into it!

๐Ÿ‘‚๐Ÿผ Adding Voiceovers
One of the key milestones we've reached is integrating some of the voiceovers. The NPCs along the main story will have a VO, as well as the most important NPC characters, like Charvi, Ira or Najji. On the other hand, characters in side-quests or optional dialogue will not have a VO. It's really an amazing feeling to hear your characters talk for the first time! ๐Ÿ˜Š

๐ŸŽž๏ธ Game Intro
We've also put together an intro video. Itโ€™s meant to set the mood and give you a glimpse of the storyโ€™s themes when you launch the game for the first time.



๐Ÿชž Character portraits
On the art front, we've been closely collaborating with our artist on new character portraits. We've put a lot of thought into these, and we're really pleased with how they turned out! What do you think?




And of course, we've been busy behind the scenes optimizing the game, fixing bugs, and stabilizing the build. The community feedback we received during the closed Beta playtest was extremely helpful in identifying things we should tackle next. Itโ€™s hard to showcase these parts, but please believe us it takes a lot of work to make the game reach our standards ๐Ÿ˜‰

Move Out Manor - Baluster Games
This is the first patch for โ€œMove Out Manorโ€ since release.

Updates
  • Removed in-level timer since thereโ€™s no time limit.
  • Improved hint in hall #2.
  • Added more controller support.
  • Tweaks to hall #6 boss.

  • Improved โ€œFullscreenโ€ option on Windows.

The Sapling - Wessel
Today, the first build of the Scary & Sexy update is available on the beta branch on Steam. Saying that it's experimental is an understatement: there are still hundreds of known bugs, to be fixed in small patches over the coming weeks. Once things are stable enough, it will be made available for everybody (not just the beta branch).

  • Fixed an issue where multiple active controllers would disrupt players movement.
Equipment
  • Fixed an issue causing the CELESTIAL CERULEITE goal not registering as unlocked
General UI
  • Fixed a UI softlock on the Layer Complete screen that was occurring when the player backs out while the Layer unlock sequence is playing.
  • Fixed an issue where backing out of the Layer Select screen would default the player to see the Regret background.
  • Fixed the Carnage Score heading in the End of Layer screen not appearing correctly
  • Fixed an issue for Trigger Buttons not appearing in the UI correct after reconfiguring the trigger buttons
  • Fixed REFLECTION run time not displaying correctly

Cursed Companions Playtest - steam
Hello, just a small patch, please refer to previous build patch notes for more details on the changes.

  • Fixed the teleport stone issues
  • Added a noise cancelling bar in the Settings
KNOWN ISSUES:

  • Dead/Spectating players can trigger curses if they are near other live players
  • Players who join the game when the portal has been opened may encounter several issues
  • Monsters may get stuck due to minor pathing issues
  • On rare occasions players may fall through the dungeon due to some unseen gaps
  • If you are too close to the Red entrance doors, they can't open. You have to stand slightly back monsters
  • New windows exe icon
  • Added the Crimson Forge logo
  • Fixed issue where players have problems picking up stuff under the dead companions
  • You can buy furniture in the shop, but some of their functionality is not completed, so for now they are decorative

First, I want to thank everyone for playing, commenting, reporting bugs, wishlisting, and following. The demo is improving and becoming more enjoyable each day, thanks to your support. For anyone waiting for things to improve before giving it another try, now is a good time! The demo is not perfect yet, but itโ€™s definitely enjoyable.

Last week, the game reached a point where it suddenly seemed to click with people, and since then, it has been seeing a significant number of new daily wishlists.. This might be due to the introduction of the interaction preview (the detailed list showing what raises and lowers the chances of success). Iโ€™m really glad it worked out this way, as I think I was previously a bit too hesitant to show too much on the screen.

I'm also excited to see traffic from all over the world! Speaking of different regions, I haven't addressed this yet, but the game is nearly impossible to translate into other languages. If you played the early demo, you probably noticed how the text is pieced together from various sentence parts, names, pronouns, and relationships in different variations. This was a decision I had to make at one point in development. I would actually need to speak each language well enough myself to change the code and make that work.

In the last announcement, I mentioned setting a release date after the Next Fest, but I donโ€™t feel confident enough to set a fixed date while Iโ€™m still improving the game and donโ€™t have enough time to write the stories and tasks. However, itโ€™s still planned for this year (a matter of weeks, not months).

As a consolation, the new update (v_0_93_04) includes a new challenge/minigame. I only realized yesterday that I forgot to add it to the demo. In this challenge, the Deep Ones test your knowledge of the village. Youโ€™ll need to identify a villager using three clues, along with search and filter functions and menus like the family tree. I hope you find it fun!

    • whoops had Trish's Overcoat set to the wrong equip type the whole time. that's fixed now.
    • didn't realize I never had a proper animation for Money Talks either. It's something simple now, but it ain't just using a default animation anymore.
    • I dunno, added flavor text here and there for fun
    • fixed a point in the alt route where you're given a gift but it doesn't actually show up in your inventory.
