-Fixed certain dark bosses not giving their steam achievements properly. -Fixed Merchant only getting their Manufacture skills back if the supplies costed the lowest amount.
Major changes are coming to the world of Web next month! In an effort to make Act 1 as good as it can be as we enter the long haul towards Act 2, I am working on new content and quality-of-life features.
As this update will touch huge portions of the game, I am dubbing it "Launch 2.0," to signify it as a rebirth of the core Carter's Quest experience.
Here's a taste of what you have to look forward to when Launch 2.0 drops next month:
Improvements
The user interface has been updated to be easier to navigate and prettier to look at
No more saving woes! Multiple save files will now be supported within the main menu
Boss battles have been improved with reworked sound design and new moves
Bug fixes across the entire game
Kaliere Commune has been remodeled, focusing primarily on the Eastern half of the city
Additions
Substantial new story content (estimated 40 minutes of playtime) that follow Carter's journey gaining the trust of Jalysus
New music tracks
New dungeons, optional and otherwise
New enemies, including the formidable Giant Rat Imp, placed into new and existing areas
Spells, a new form of utility attack that can be strung into your combos for additional sauce
Alchemy, craft potions with those hordes of useless items in your inventory
Many of these ideas were planned for Act 2, but after getting some constructive criticism vis a vis the pacing issues in the latter half of Act 1, I thought pulling them forward would give the characters more time to breathe. This update is still very much in development, so look out on my social media channels to see the new content as it comes in.
Thank you all so much for the amazing reception so far! To more great times!
This is a great chance to grab the game early or even get a spot in beta testing, which will be held on Steam, exclusively for backers! I appreciate any support the project gets even if it's just sharing the project with your friends! Thank you everyone!
