Steam Next Fest has come to an end!

The wishlist count for the game increased from 100 to over 500, and around 700 people played the game, with an average playtime of 1 hour and 6 minutes.

Wow! My game has received so much love, more than I could have ever imagined!

To repay this interest, The Die Is Cast is scheduled to release between late December and mid-January.

There are about 45 to 70 days left until then, so I’ll briefly outline how I plan to patch the game moving forward.

From now on, I will focus less on bug management and more on adding content.

In fact, The Die Is Cast was a broken game up until the second day of Next Fest, with 80% of players unable to reach the ending. By the fifth day, the game still had many bugs causing it to freeze. While the game has been somewhat stabilized now, it will soon return to being a bug-ridden mess!

The good news is that I’ve already prepared a lot of content.

For example, the legendary item Mjölnir was originally supposed to deal chain lightning damage to all enemies when hitting a single target, not just give a +10 attack power bonus. In fact, most of the heroic and legendary items had effects like this disabled because they were causing a lot of bugs.

Now, it’s time to reactivate those effects. If you look at the last GIF on the store page, you’ll see that there were also usable effects, like potions in Slay the Spire. These will also be added soon.

For the next 1-3 weeks, I’ll be adding these features to the demo. Please bear with me if there are serious bugs during this period. During this time, I also plan to revamp the trailer and store page.

After that, I’ll focus on building the full game content. I might recruit beta testers and patch a version different from the demo. When the time comes to recruit beta testers, I’ll post another announcement.

As the title suggests, we have some major news to announce.

Our team has been hard at work on the rest of the game and Act 2 is nearing completion as we speak...

With that said, I'd like to announce that our game is being featured in the Dames 4 Games showcase on Thursday, October 24th at 11:30 PDT, which is ALSO our release date for ACT 2!

On top of that, our game will be included in their Steam event, Ghouls 4 Games, which runs from October 21st - 31st.

I hope you're excited to see the rest of Tabbie's misadventures as much as we're excited to show you what we've been cooking up since Act 1!

Update time: Our progress on the game has never stopped, but we've realized that the cool things we want to put in the game are going to take a little longer to implement than we originally planned (when has game development ever been that easy?)

For context: We're breaching 300 sprites alone for Act 3, and the combined word count of the last two acts is sitting at ~60K words(!)

And that's stuff we're already finished with!

So, to make sure our team is getting to the finish line sustainably, we're rearranging our release dates around. But our promise to release TMGIAB in full remains the same!

Junebug vs. Evil - Eldritch Heart Studio
Howdy, all

It’s been over a year since the last update. I won’t dive into the personal details, but I'll say that as a part-time solo developer, life does get in the way for better or worse. Regardless, I will happily add that I haven't stopped working on Junebug vs. Evil.



I've created a new map, with more detail and handmade content. I’ve also been working on new audio from music, voice acting for zombies, realistic weapon sounds, and more sound improvements planned. Other additions include a reworked fire damage system and melee attacks. I’ll include the full update notes in the upcoming update.

I’m excited to share the new stuff! Expect an update on Halloween!
