We're excited to share a new Tome and new Torn challenges of every shape and size!

Our usual update author is secluded in candle-lit contemplation after being directly affected by the recent hurricane (but safe and sound!), so today's update might be a bit lighter on puns...

Vellum forges ahead in Chapter VII: Ventures!



New Tome: Pride and Profit


The Bazaar is open in Pride and Profit!

In this new Tome, the Torn are bursting with gold that enterprising Scribes can collect and spend in the various Market vignettes. Collect, save, and spend as you push back the Torn with the unyielding power of commerce!

Along with this new Tome, we've taken the opportunity to reorganize the bookshelves, freshening up the variety in Tome unlock progression. You'll be able to unlock Pride and Profit by beating Rivals and reaching Binding Attunement 5 (and you won't lose access to any currently unlocked tomes)!

New Bindings

Find new variety and challenge in Tomes with 10 new Bindings! Each binding group has been fleshed out, each now with a base binding and 3 sub-bindings.

The binding attunement values have also been adjusted based on gameplay analytics and community feedback to better reflect their effective difficulty.

New Torn Threats


The Torn continue to gather strength, and new foes join the fray! A new Tangent Elite emerges to rain fire and brimstone on unsuspecting Scribes, and a new Raving, Splice, and Tangent all eagerly await their chance to expel you from the Tomes.

Torn Pages
To compound the Torn Threat, an expanded selection of Torn Pages have been added, 18 in total. These pages have specific connections to other game features, to offer new opportunities for Scribes to take challenges into their own hands!



Natural disasters and upcoming life events will have some impact on our cadence of updates, but we're still pushing forward and excited for what we have in store (imagine a nice 'store' pun here!).

Shadows of the Werewolf - Regl Studios
Hello Everyone! Version 0.86.4 includes the following updates and fixes:

  • Improved player camera movement to reduce the chance of getting stuck on walls.
  • Lower difficulty adjustment: Carried weapons are no longer always dropped when hit by an enemy.
  • Enhanced overall game performance.
  • Fixed stuttering in full-screen window mode; now defaults to Borderless window mode.
  • Resolved button issues in gameplay menus.
  • Added new Game Over menu.
  • A pop-up menu now appears when changing resolution and attempting to leave the graphics settings.
  • Adjusted subtitle positioning in the final cutscene.

Alex's Hope & Alex's Solitude - Duhop
Hi everyone! We at Violet Horizons have recently finished a nearly-complete build of the first act of Alex's Journey to the Grave, which will serve as our demo release for the game, and we're looking for public playtesters to check it out before we release it on October 25th.

Alex's Journey to the Grave features the same main characters as Alex's Hope & Alex's Solitude. It's a dark and emotional romance VN telling the story of their life together, featuring warmth, connection, tragedy, the inevitability of death... and a cat.

The final game will be around 100k words long with 4 or more alternate endings, and will cost around $10-$15. Wishlist it now if you're interested! (Steam page)

The Act 1 demo is 16k words or about 1-1.5 hours long for the average VN reader. If you're interested in playtesting, just join and send a message in our Discord server, and I'll send you a Steam key to access the demo. I'll also send you a link to the feedback form, and those who fill it out will be rewarded with a free copy of the game upon full release!

Shattered Pixel Dungeon - 00-Evan
v2.5.4 is probably the final patch for v2.5 before I start moving on to development of the next update. It's just a few bugfixes this time, plus one tiny misc. change.

A Walk With My Dog - Barrier
You can now change human and dog skins



The skins can be changed when you start or load a game. But you can also change them from the options menu while playing, so you aren't stuck with your initial selection.

Equipable hats

Some hats got lost in the map, find them and wear them! But they currently only fit on the human head.



Play as the dog

If you finished the game once, you can now play as the dog!
You can still do all the same things, run, explore, watch photos, do puzzles, get achievements and even play fetch with your human. You can also find a new minigame and become superdog!
When you throw dog toys at the human, they will be thrown back, but other items will get stored in the backpack.

New achievements
There are new achievements that might be a bit harder to do, but I'm sure you can figure them out.

Shards of the Realm - Fenyx
First of all, I would like to thank Roberto for providing saves, which helped me to examine the game from a user's perspective and identify numerous issues that would have been difficult for me to find otherwise.

The new patch brings balance changes as well as stability improvements. I tried my best to ensure existing saves would remain compatible, but due to significant core changes, I cannot be certain. Most likely, they should work (tested on Roberto's saves). Below is a list of the most important changes:

  • Reversed keys for movement and rotation. Now, the RMB is used for movement and the LMB for rotation and selecting characters. This helps to avoid unnecessary movement.
  • Added durability. It now applies to gathering tools and partially to equipment. Equipment loses durability, but it currently has no impact; this will be addressed in the upcoming patch.
  • Added the Left Alt key action to highlight all visible characters in battle.
  • Decreased the default world growth speed. Unfortunately, I could not adjust this for existing saves, and thus the world growth will be reset to 1 for those saves.
  • Removed accidentally added crafting recipes; they can now be acquired through the intended research, as originally designed.
  • Reduced the number of enemies on the map, dependent on each world level.
  • Settlements now refresh their gold over time, depending on the number of living dwellers.
  • 'Cargo horse' vehicle now increased party size by 1 to 4
  • Tutorial creatures: reduced amount of armor
  • Reduced the amount of gold required to build a Hospital, as it's a highly necessary building at lower levels.
  • Various internal fixes which are not visible to players.
