Hello soldiers! We have listened to the user feedback and have a compendium of quality of life, balance changes, and fixes ready!



  • Reduced experience necessary for units to become Elite with less battles. This is for the game not to be as strict with your core army, and allow for more experimentation with different units.
  • Some of the less popular units have been tweaked slightly to become a bit more viable, without altering their general intent in the game.



  • Support for AZERTY keyboards was added (see the in-game options).
  • Can now check a unit's experience points in Camp/Town and pre-battle screens, without the need to open the unit's level-up window.
  • Made clearer to see when a unit is required before starting a battle.
  • You can now click through the interface decorations on the battle deployment screen (they no longer block your cursor).



  • Fixed Bulwark was not triggering when intended.
  • Fixed A Song of Steel sometimes not triggering after finishing both campaigns.
  • Reduced requirements for Lethal With the Sword, as it was not being reachable through normal gameplay due to the character involved in it not being able to participate in enough battles for it to trigger.



  • Fixed several typos in tutorials and events.
  • Fixed several typos in achievements (mostly in Spanish).
  • Fixed a display error on the "Inventory" button in the pre-battle screen.
  • Fixed Phalanx's Shield Wall skill not working when attacking.
  • Fixed a blocker in the Lutia battle for the Roman campaign which could happen if the first Combat Group was completely filled up with units (Capitulum 10).
  • Added studio logos at game startup

Hello everyone!

We would like to update you on the development of Lord Ambermaze, including new bosses and biomes that we recently finished.

We have three new biomes to announce! The "forest" biome is finished, while the "dark wood" and "lava" biomes are almost complete – we are still testing these locations while developing new ones. These exclude the "toxic swamps" and the castle of the Dark Lord Ambermaze, which will be full of traps and dangers.



Speaking of biomes, we want to lift the veil of mystery surrounding the "lava" biome. The endless fields of fire will challenge every player, but if you can overcome the first two biomes, you might just be able to cope with the hottest of them all.

But heed our warning! One wrong step will lead to you burning to a crisp or an explosive end!



We've added a unique "totems" mechanic to this level. If you encounter these statues in the arena, you will feel their immediate effect as they prevent you from using certain game mechanics. For example, enemies will be protected by permanent shields and any attack against them will be meaningless until you destroy the totem.



Once you reach the end of the level, you'll come face-to-face with the Lave Octopus boss. It's an imposing sight and will seem incredibly strong, with the right way, he'll fall with ease.

Our goal with the "lava" biome was to include more puzzles that lead to treasure caches and secret passages to different rooms, and new enemies with different attacks and behavior logic. Now it is definitely the most real, gloomy labyrinth!

And we've also added Japanese as a language option to the demo.

A little later than planned, but welcome back to another Nivalis community blog! As part of our future posts, we’ll be putting the spotlight on a number of individuals you’ll come across on your adventure throughout Nivalis. Today, we’re starting with a character that you’ll come across almost the moment you leave your apartment.

CHARACTER SPOTLIGHT - THADDEUS CARMUNIS

"I lived my whole life behind that hot plate. It was my whole world. Now it's time for me to find another one."


Meet Thaddeus Carmunis. A 92 year old business owner on the brink of retirement. You’ll meet Thaddeus very early on in your journey. A gruff but friendly character, Thaddeus is very tired of life in Nivalis. Early on he will warn you that there are two ways to go in life: build a community, so others are a little less miserable, or climb on top of everyone’s shoulders to rise to the top.

Old and grizzled with a long grey beard, the demands of his long career show. He’s worked his whole life for very little reward. An impatient character, Thaddeus is also friendly and thoughtful. He won’t judge you, so whether you’re cunning or kind in your decision making, he’ll respect you.


"Be cunning or be kind. That's all I can say to you. If you're kind, make sure you don't let them walk all over you. And if you're cunning, don't let them catch you out. Cunning, kind, selfish, saintly - whatever type of person you want to be, be smart. Be smart and you'll make it."

- Weaponsmith Anvil item: Its cost has increased to 75.

- Voidworld Challenges: The check to see if you have unlocked the correct Starting Weapon wasn't consistent.
- Buying a hell of a lot of passive items could cause a crash.
- Settings - Visibility - Enemy Outlines: The explosive Mineire enemies in the green theme would show the wrong outline.
- Settings - Visibility - Attack Outlines: When using certain colours some attacks would become bright white.
- Some enemy attacks were using the Enemy Outline colour instead of the Attack Outline colour.
- Gun Runner Shop: Viewing a weapon's Traits could cause a crash.
- Gun Runner Shop: When using a gamepad pressing Right when on a shop item would move the selector to the Destruction stat instead of Traits.
- Manifold Wand weapon: Increasing its Level wasn't boosting its stats.
- Element Deposit sector room: Its base sprite could show the wrong colour gems.
