Robocraft 2 Playtest - Freejam Rawxas
Hello Robocrafters! We've released a small update focused on wings!

Wings have had some pretty major changes in several places, but the bottom line is that they’ve become more agile.

The point from which wings provide thrust has been heavily adjusted, which makes them roll faster and with greater stability, which also means we’ve been able to lower the angular drag. How forces are applied for pitching and banking have also been adjusted, resulting in faster control. Planes that reach the upper limits of weight per wing will be slower to rotate as a balancing factor, but still agile enough that skilled pilots can fly through the canyons of Noma Transmitter.

As part of these changes, we've made Rudders redundant as Wings are agile and stable on their own. Rudders are now renamed to small wings and have had the same improvements as their larger counterpart, so you can still use them to create light agile flyers albeit with lower carrying capacity and top speed. As part of this change, wings can no longer be placed vertically.

Wings are a large change to the game's eco-system - They add a new axis to combat, they are fast and often weak and light. This creates several design challenges around keeping them fun to fly and fair to fight against. We’ll be keeping a close eye on their survivability, and are already looking into what kind of weaponry could enhance the flying experience. The differences between large and small wings can also be explored further as we see what you build with them!

We’re also lowering the Rail Gun projectile speed in T9 & T10 to what it has been in T7 & T8, and we’re increasing the damage propagation range in all Tiers. This update also fixes a couple of inventory stats that were incorrect with the last patch.

Killer Perk Updates
  • Blood Echo:
    When hooking a Survivor, all injured Survivors suffer from Hemorrhage and Exhaustion for 20/25/30 seconds. (was 45 seconds)
    Blood Echo has a cooldown of 80/70/60 seconds. (REMOVED)
  • Dead Man's Switch:
    When hooking a Survivor, Dead Man's Switch activates. The first Survivor that stops repairing a generator calls upon the Entity to block it for 40/45/50 seconds. (was 35/40/45 seconds)
    Dead Man's Switch cannot activate while it is actively blocking a generator. (NEW)
  • Deathbound:
    When a Survivor heals another Survivor, they scream and activate Deathbound. (Removed the distance requirement)
    When the healer is further than 16/12/8 meters from the Survivor they healed, they are Oblivious.
    This lasts until the healer loses a health state. (was 60 seconds)
  • Genetic Limits:
    Anytime a Survivor loses a health state, they suffer from the Exhausted Status Effect for 6/7/8 seconds. (was upon finishing the healing action, and 24/28/32 seconds)
  • Hex: Crowd Control:
    The last 3/4/5 vaults that Survivors rush vault are blocked by the Entity. (was 14/17/20 seconds)
    This lasts until the hex totem is cleansed.
  • Leverage:
    When a Survivor performs the unhook action, their healing speed is reduced by 30/40/50% for 30 seconds. (was token based, and 3/4/5%)
  • Machine Learning:
    When damaging a generator, it becomes Compromised. Only one generator can be Compromised at a time. (Removed the requirement to activate the perk)
    When a Compromised generator is completed, you become Undetectable and gain 10% Haste for 40/50/60 seconds.
    This effect cannot stack.
  • Predator:
    When a Survivor escapes a chase, reveal their aura for 6 seconds. (NEW)
    Predator has a 60/50/40-second cooldown (NEW)
  • THWACK!:
    THWACK starts with 3 tokens (NEW)
    When breaking a pallet or breakable wall, consume a token. (NEW)
    Survivors within 24 meters scream, revealing their location for 3/4/5 seconds (was 28/30/32 meters, and 4 seconds)
    When hooking a Survivor, regain 1 token (NEW)
  • Zanshin Tactics:
    Reveal the aura of pallets and windows within 32 meters. (removed breakable walls)
    Survivors who drop pallets are revealed to you for 6/7/8 seconds. (NEW)

Survivor Perk Updates
  • Bloodrush:
    After being unhooked, Blood Rush activates for the next 40/50/60 seconds.
    While suffering from Exhausted, press the Active Ability Button 1 to recover from Exhausted instantly.
    Blood Rush deactivates when used or when performing a conspicuous action.
    Blood Rush is disabled once the exit gates are powered.
  • Corrective Action:
    You start the trial with 1/2/3 token(s) and gain a token, up to a maximum of 5, for every Great Skill Check.
    When a Survivor fails a Normal Skill Check, 1 token is consumed and their failed Skill Check becomes a Good Skill Check. (was for coop repairs only)
    Additionally, reveal their aura for 6/6/6 seconds. (NEW)
  • Distortion:
    Start with 1 token. (was 3)
    When your aura would be read, consume a token and hide your scratch marks and aura for the next 8/10/12 seconds. (was 6/8/10)
    For each 30 seconds spent in chase, gain 1 token, up to 2. (was while hiding in the Terror Radius)
  • Inner Focus:
    You can see other Survivors' Scratch Marks.
    Whenever another Survivor loses a health state, the Killer's aura is revealed to you for 6/8/10 seconds. (Removed the range condition)
  • Lucky Star:
    When you hide a locker, make no grunts of pain.
    After exiting the locker, you see the aura of the closest generator, all Survivors, and make no grunts of pain, nor leave blood pools for 30 seconds. (was 10 seconds)
    Lucky Star goes on cooldown for 40/35/30 seconds.
  • Poised:
    When first starting repairs on a generator, reveal the Killer's aura for 6 seconds. (NEW)
    After a generator is completed, leave no scratch marks for 10/12/14 seconds. (was 6/8/10 seconds)
  • Quick Gambit:
    When you are being chased, see the aura of other Survivors. (Removed the range condition)
    Survivors working on any generator gain 3/4/5% repair speed boost. (was 6/7/8%)

  • Teamwork: Collective Stealth:

  • During the running of 2v8, we found that Huntress Bot was struggling to count. In any future uses of Killer Bots, she'll be able to reload her hatchets even when she has more than 0 hatchets on her.
  • Bot brains should correctly initialize if players leave while loading into a Trial.

  • Fixed an issue that caused the Nemesis' unique roar animation to be missing on the 4th hit
  • Fixed an issue that caused survivors to become stuck in the fear animation while in Madness.

  • Fixed an issue that caused the perk Teamwork: Power of Two speed buff to stack when two Survivors heal each other
  • Fixed an issue that caused the perk Deathbound not to be disabled when being interrupted/grabbed by the Killer
  • Fixed an issue that caused the external perk icon for the Hex: Face the Darkness perk to appear when failing a skill check while affected by the Corrective Action perk
  • Fixed an issue that caused the Skull Merchant's Drone scan lines to remain visible after the drones despawn when hooking a Survivor nearby

It’s finally here! Patch 1.0 is LIVE! We are also beyond excited to announce an incredible new collaboration in Oh Baby Kart featuring Tower of God! From October 8, 2024, to November 7, 2024, you'll have the chance to purchase exclusive skins from this hit series and take on a unique community challenge.

Tower of God Collaboration

We are excited to be collaborating with Tower of God to bring players five brand new characters to the game! In addition to the characters, we will be releasing a new community event in-game where players will have to complete a global meter in the lobby. Every race adds points to this meter, and once it's filled, the entire community unlocks special rewards! Think of it as a “test” from the Tower itself—the more you race, the closer you get to victory and your rewards!

Global Community Meter
Every race will add points to the meter. Below is a breakdown of the points:

Grand Prix Races (solo and duo): 4 points
Race Royale Races: 1 point
Players using a Tower of God character will earn an additional 2 points

Rewards
In order for the community to get rewards, everyone will need to come together to fill the meter and reach the milestones below:

  • 25% Filled: 1x Exclusive Wheels Unannounced Exclusive Kart
  • 50% Filled: 1x Limited Lootcrate
  • 100% Filled: 2x Limited Lootcrate + 1x Dinosaur Jez x Unannounced Exclusive [Character] Skin

Important Note: In order for players to receive the rewards, they will need to at least contribute 150 points to the Global Community Meter

NEW FEATURE:


Refreshed Keyboard Shortcuts: With the fusion lock feature we added last week, some of our players who got used to right click to drop Cosmions into the storage voiced their need for new shortcuts. That's why we're bringing it back to not break your gaming instinct and introduce some new ones which are:

  • C -> Open the Codex
  • K -> Drop everything from backpack! That includes Cosmion, Zones, and anything you can stash.
  • F -> Reroll the store offerings
  • R -> Rotate held Cosmion, Zones, etc.
  • Q or Right Click -> Drop the highlighted Cosmion into storage OR reserve shop offering.
  • E or mouse scroll button -> Fusion Lock
  • M -> Sell highlighted Cosmions, Zones, Essence.
  • Space -> Start Duel
  • Arrow keys or WASD -> Acts like a D-pad and moves the entire board

BUGFIXES

  • Steam cloud save system improvements: Throughout the launch week, some players had issues with Steam cloud saves due to tightened security and permission settings. This cause players to have different instances of their game progress on different platform (such as PC vs Steam Deck). We've optimized how cloud save is handled now, and things should work as smooth as a butter.
  • Double essence fusion/evolution bugs: Fixed an issue where some fusions wouldn't work as intended when positioning two Essences next to each other while linked to their needed Cosmion. While we couldn't replicate the issue in our playtest, our patch should address that, but do let us know if you encounter this again.

COSMION & ESSENCE BALANCING AND CHANGES


While we're still cooking the full balance patch based on our data from last week and this coming one, we've realized one thing: Fire builds are prevalent. Even though not the strongest builds in terms of success rate, it's still the most players. Therefore we are nerfing some of the best performing fire Cosmions just a bit, while buffing a tad bit some lesser used evolved and fusion ones.

ELECTRICITY BASED COSMION & ESSENCE

  • Chirvolt: Reduced energy consumption from 3 to 2
  • Volroost: Reduced energy consumption from 6 to 4
  • Voltrex: Reduced energy consumption from 8 to 5

Developer’s Notes: Chrivolt is an adorable Electric starter Cosmion, but we realized that its current energy consumption and its evolutionary path was too high. So we tweaked them down.

FIRE BASED COSMION & ESSENCE

  • Houshan : Cooldown upped from 3 to 3.5
  • Firefist : Damage range reduced from 10-15 to 10-13

ICE BASED COSMION & ESSENCE

  • Cryo Sugeko: Changed fusion recipe form Sugeko + Common Air Essence to now Sugeko + Rare Ice Essence.

Developer’s Notes: Ice is meant to feel strong as an element as it requires stacking, but Cryo Sugeko is the most used one as it was only requiring a Common Air Essence to evolve it. So we decided to tone it down by making its evolution more difficult, requiring now a Rare Ice Essence.

NATURE BASED COSMION & ESSENCE

  • Duopon: Price in shop upped from from 3 to 4.

Developer’s Notes: Duopon is performing a little too well for a low cost Cosmion. It is very good for links as well as early game sustain, but at this price IN THIS ECONOMY? That's just a steal.

WATER BASED COSMION & ESSENCE

  • Serenius: Reduced energy consumption from 6 to 4. Upped Damage range from 25-30 to 30-35.

Developer’s Notes: Arguably the worst performing Cosmion according to our data, we've decided to give it some love to incite you all to try it, especially considering its on hit effect of applying 2 Fog and creating 2 Flow.
