There is now one quest that triggers sometime in day 2. I imagine I'll need to rework this to support additional quest events. The main purpose of quests is to entice the player to explore. They must decide between staying and working in the base or spending time on the quest for some unknown reward.
This took up a decent amount of time to build since I wanted to establish a framework for future quests. Quest might not be the right naming for this as there aren't that many steps to it. It's more like events. For example, the first quest you are asked to rescue a group of humans by clearing the bug hives outside their base. Once it's cleared, their dialog will allow them to join you, and you can mine the resources in their base.
Future quests might be:
Slay a queen bug before she attacks you
Deliver some supplies to a faraway camp of humans
Build a specific building.
etc.
Tech tree reworked
I combined the a few UI components into the tech tree. Base and player upgrades along with map objects are all part of the tech tree mechanism. I got rid of the time component, so if the player has the resources the tech can be unlocked instantly. Once we move into the content building phase, I'll improve the tech tree more.
As part of this I added more upgrade types.
Next update I am focusing on adding more enemy types. The primary being:
The release version had a game breaking bug, occasionally generating empty levels. The update was ready to go live on launch, but due to technical issues, it got lost in limbo. The bugfix is finally publicly available, right now.
I apologize for the inconvenience, and I thank you for your patience.
Other changes include:
Decreased invulnerability state of the Glurks
Hitbox of player puddles (trails) has been increased
Decreased speed for the arrows shot by Glurk Archers and the ballista
The ballista stops shooting at the player if it is not visible on the screen
Pointer arrows indicate the exits of Chapter 1 Level 1 if newcomers remain for too long in the level
No Survivor and Confident achievements can be obtained
And on another note, if you liked those thumping beats, the soundtrack is available on Steam.
Hello! It is a reality that SurvivalWorld is close to being released, in its early access version, in other words we can say that it is in an Alpha version
This is already making something clear, it is very safe and likely that when playing you will experience errors, bugs, glitches, so when it happens, do not think twice and report it so that it is resolved as soon as possible.
What will I find when I play?SurvivalWorld is a game that will be built over time with various updates that will come out and bring improvements, corrections and new things. Currently the game has everything mentioned on the store page, a construction system, where the limit is practically your imagination since you can build whatever you want and how you want. Taming animals, some you can ride, not all, at the moment there are few that can be ridden, but the number will increase. To progress you must get learning points, which although you can get them by obtaining resources from the world, the best way is to research resources on a special table, this will give you more and you will be able to learn new recipes for structures, tools and armor.
I thought about different types of players, that's why there are two game modes, survival, classic, survive, explore, take care of the cold and heat, hostile creatures like goblins and skeletons, ghosts, build your house and make sure you survive. Or also the Creative mode, for people who like to build without limits and without worries, they can do whatever they want. There are also two types of world, the Island the normal world and a flat world designed more than for people who prefer to build more comfortably.
As I mentioned previously, SurvivalWorld will be built based on updates that will be released with different content, from time to time, I will try to make it constant in a certain way, those that contain good content, then the updates that will be the most will be bug fixes, or some other minimal change. The important ones will take time.
So without anything else to say, I'll wait for you for the launch of SurvivalWorld, thank you very much
The leaves are getting crispy, colorful, and falling under our feet. To give away our position.
The cool wind is bringing the chill we all know and love. Or is that death.
Three new levels, a bunch of new mechanics, some surprises, and some new achievements await our next Update together! I have been doing some finishing touches on the new and shining up some of the old with some new improvements both performant and visual. Still more work to be done, but testing time is upon us. Keep watching for announcements...they are coming!
Sadly... we just got news that the build wasn't approved, there is a few minor errorsr, We are going to work hard to fix and submit the game again. It is usually faster to get after the initial process. I wont give a new date right now, but instead i will keep you update on the progress in the forum.
I know this can be pretty disappointing... I heard steam has had a few issues earlier this week, which could be why reviewing is taking longer.
Thank you for understanding, be assured that as soon as the game is ready to go live, I will let you all know and give a new date for the release.
Known Issues: - Audio settings don't apply after launching the app, only after entering the level - Performance issues on first night start, to fix this start the night and after loading in return to menu and start again, this will create a save. *Only happens on the first time you start a night /after you die and have to restart* if you have started one previously/continuing your night you shouldn't experience this. If you do, restart the app and everything should run much smoother, especially after an update.
Controller players: 1. Enable Steam Controller Input (Right click the game in your library > Properties > Controller) 2. Click use Controller Configurator 3. Click current button layout 4. Navigate to the Community Layouts 5. Select Show All Layouts 6. Select the controller configuration or create one (There is 1 already published) 7. You're done
We finally worked on nuclear weapons. They are an important part of any military strategy. Whether you use them aggressively or guard against them by investing in defensive infrastructure is up to you.
Investing in nuclear weapons requires collecting uranium and building the industrial chain to make it weapon-grade. This is a long process in which you are vulnerable to potentially fatal disruptions. Still, if you can efficiently control your nuclear production infrastructure you will have a massive advantage in the end game.
🎥 New Animations
We added new worker animations for when they are collecting mineral resources. We are not ashamed to admit that this is inspired by Age of Empires!
🛻 New Interactions
We added new interactions that make it easier to manage logistics. Using trucks, it is now possible to transport huge amounts of resources over long distances.
Closed Beta
We are releasing a demo of the game (closed beta) towards the end of October. We would love to hear your feedback, so please sign up on our website to get a demo link as soon as it's ready.
