Many people have requested being able to carry multiple tools at once, so we've added the Pouch, which allows you to carry two tools at once!

Combining the boomerang with bombs allows for ultra-wide reach!

To explain why Quest Master does not offer tool switching in the inventory:
  1. Having to open a menu dramatically hampers gameplay flow
  2. Bringing up menus in shared-screen multiplayer is incredibly annoying, as it locks out other players from controlling their character
  3. Being locked into a selection offers unique puzzle scenarios, e.g. having to strategically change tools or having to make a choice, or giving up your held tool to progress

Predominantly the Four Swords series has started the trend of being locked into a single tool, but I hope the new Pouch will be of great use for y'all! There's some crazy item combinations, like fire rod and bombs, that open up the way for many new puzzles, previously only possible in multiplayer or with puppets!


Give the Propeller a spin!

Finally, a new switch type!

The propeller is activated by kinetic wind energy -- when wind touches it, it will start spinning. However, its friction will cause it to slow down gradually, until it comes to a stop again.

This opens up many new possibilities for timed operations without the use of dedicated shapes!


Turbines allow it to spin continuously!


It will continue spinning until the Tornado vanishes!


Gusts of Wind will active them for short bursts!


They can also be deactivated with a condition!


What's Next?

We are preparing hard for the upcoming next major content update releasing on October 4th, so mark you calendars! It will introduce many new game changing features that will elevate your dungeons to new levels, quite literally.

Next week is going to be a smaller update because of the preparations, so we are adding some content to Castle Town!

25 Updates from alpha testers who are not beta they are sigma for finding all these issues for us devs to patch for you to enjoy the game. We promise the next 12 updates will knock your socks off (if you are wearing socks).
  • 1. we cut the clutter for the pillars in Solaris great hall near wizard ermos hall
  • 2. pillars in middle of great hall of elven city look too small and weak not enough power in such a powerful place so we made them tough as nails they definitely don't go to weenie hut jr anymore
  • 3. make a “Load Save” option when in the escaped pause menu
  • 4. Made a Giant cloud underneath elven city so it isn’t so out of place and in the air like in the middle of nowhere
  • 5. we fixed the flying horse extremely difficult. before it couldn't turn left or right easy enough for being in the air. Now you should be able to make sharper turns
  • 6. save controller setting when you unplug controller
  • 7. cut the holding interact time in half
  • 8. enemies on easy do FAR too much damage (health regens faster and enemies doing damage 1/2) so we made easy difficulty an actually much easier more fun time!
  • 9. replaced brown horse with white horse for elven prince and grey horse for elven king
  • 10. made minimap useful zoomout of it a bit to see landmarks and now we know where we are.
  • 11. fix stop being frozen after kills wtf?!
  • 12. fixed NPCs being launched & player being launched hundreds of feet lol
  • 13. market or potential way to get healing items early on
  • 14. health regen on easy mode out of combat way faster
  • 15. fixed get level ingame UI next to bat
  • 16. made it so default pressing B on controller closes any pause menu no matter what (circle on PlayStation controller)
  • 17. fixed falling through floor if save game inside snowy cave
  • 18. we put barriers or fencing infront of colloseum manager so you don’t keep falling into colloseum in the elven city arena
  • 19. abilities now work great and you gain them each levelup and during 30orc kill mission
  • 20. starting room looks out of place so we added more detail on the outside to make it fit in
  • 21. changed overdone coloring in elven city to better contrast golden/metallic coloring
  • 22. fix guy walking in zig zags instead of just running straight (sprinting in forest)
  • 23. made a place to break barrels and boxes on top of vampire castle
  • (with chance of getting gold/potions/chalice drops)
  • 24. make bows work for controller & better controller support
  • 25. fixed major dupe of items

We’re back with some exciting new updates and fixes! Check out what’s been added this week:

New Game Warning Pop-Up

  • Starting a new game will now trigger a warning pop-up, letting you know it will delete your previous progress. This way, you won't accidentally lose your hard-earned game data.
Enemy Scout Change

  • We’ve removed enemy scouts from the scout section. Instead, you’ll now receive detailed scouting reports every week before a match directly in your inbox.
Battlefield Camera Adjustments

  • We’ve restricted the battlefield camera movement, so no more endless wandering into the dark zones.
  • Additionally, you can now zoom in further on the battlefield.
Battle Unit Command Fix

  • We’ve fixed the issue where some units were not listening to your commands during battles. Now, your units will follow your tactics more accurately.

Congratulations to Team Liquid, Grand Champions at The International 2024. Dropping only three games throughout their championship run, this relentless Liquid squad washed away a field of fearsome contenders to resoundingly earn their place as the finest Dota team in the world.

Team Liquid's journey to the Aegis started smoothly with a pair of 2-0 series wins over Aurora and beastcoast, but a 0-2 showing against defending champions Team Spirit reminded everyone that the path to immortality is filled with formidable foes.

Their next opponent would only prove that point further. With Liquid holding a 1-0 advantage and the Upper Bracket almost within reach, underdogs BB Team ran away with the second match of their seeding set, threatening Liquid with a much more difficult Lower Bracket path. Undaunted, Liquid leveraged early action in game three to build an avalanching lead and ultimately secure their place in the Upper Bracket to begin the next stage.

Once there, the eventual champions never looked back. Their heroes were almost unkillable in a dominating 2-0 win over Xtreme Gaming, with only a single death amongst them in game two. Carrying that momentum forward, they opened their series on the main stage against Cloud9 with another stomp. Game two turned into a closer back-and-forth fight, but Liquid rode an epic late game teamwipe to victory and a place in the Upper Bracket Final against a familiar opponent — and constant obstacle in their path — the dangerous Gaimin Gladiators.

Flipping precedent, Liquid withstood Gaimin's early aggression and took the series 2-0, marching convincingly into the Grand Final. After Gaimin battled their way back for a rematch, Team Liquid took the chance to demonstrate that the results of the first matchup were no fluke. They dispatched their old nemesis in decisive 3-0 fashion to secure the Aegis and a place in Dota 2 history.

As bearers of the ultimate symbol of victory, these names shall forever be inscribed upon the Aegis of Champions:

The International Compendium

If you've still got some challenges to complete and rewards to claim in The International 2024 Compendium, there's a bit more time before it all wraps up. You can still snag additional levels for your Compendium until Tuesday, October 15th, and other goodies like supporters packs, talent bundles, and champion stickers will be available a few weeks longer.

Upcoming Hero and Crownfall Act IV

Also, in case you missed the trailer during The International, we announced Dota's next hero. Leader of the flightless, sworn enemy of Queen Imperia, and general troublemaker Kez will be joining the roster of Dota heroes when Crownfall Act IV releases.

We have a bunch of new spells, new buildings, changes to the Necroforager, and more!

Beta Access
If you're interested in checking out the beta changes, they are available to all. Simply right-click the game in you steam library, go to Properties, and use the beta code throneofbeta.

Content Changes
Necroforager Redesign

Was: Whenever you sacrifice a minion, a minion one level higher to the shop.
Now: Recycling triggers summon abilities. Summoning triggers recycle abilities.

Embrace the cycle of life and undeath with this rework to the necroforager. I wanted to preserve her interaction with recycling minions, but take her in a direction when she feels like she has unique builds accessible only to her. There are a lot of minions and spells that pop off when you get to double dip summoning and recycling. Grow-tastic!

Buildings
Buildings have been redesigned, and there's now 21 different building rewards in the game. I won't list them all here, but go check em out in game!

New Spells
I've added 8 new Level 4 spells, 6 new Level 5 spells , and one new level 2 spell.

Spell Changes
Deathcycle, Overmind, and Dark Syzygy are now Relics rewards obtained after the Crypt. Their art and name will change in a future build.

Level 3
Tomb Plating

Relic Changes
As stated, Deathcycle, Overmind, and Dark Syzygy are now relics. Additionally, two building abilities are now available on relics.

Your first recycle fully refunds. (formerly of 'Fungal Garden')

Mirror Advisor
Double your support abilities.(formerly of 'Apprentice's Quarters')

Rituals Removed
Rituals have been removed. I wasn't happy with their impact on the game (costing skulls in the last few turns, forgetting to activate, etc).
Surviving the Siege now gives a choice of 3 more buildings, rather than a choice of 3 rituals.
Reaching Collection Level 3 with a necromancer unlocks their signature level 5 spell, instead of their signature ritual.

Gameplay Changes
The 'lost combat' Heart loss experimental change that was on beta has been reverted. Players are now back to losing hearts equal to the remaining enemies.
