Hello everyone!

The next update is now about a month away, so it’s time to take a closer look at what’s new on Europa this time. We’ll cover the “big thing” in the update in our next post, and this time, let’s take a look at…

Alien ruin improvements
Alien ruins will be more varied both in their visual and gameplay aspects: New modules and decorations will make the ruins feel more lived-in and intriguing, while new puzzles and traps will challenge your crew’s tactics more than their plasma cutters. The update will also include brand new events that will encourage exploration and give you more information on the mysterious beings behind the ruins.

Exploring the ruins will also be more rewarding. Dementonite can now be used to craft more experimental items, like gravity-affecting ammunition for your submarine. The gene splicing system is also receiving improvements and balancing, to give players more uses for genetic materials found in the ruins.

Three new Husks
Because the waters of Europa were not dangerous enough, we are adding three new variants of Husked creatures for you to contend with:
  • The Husk Prowler, a fast and agile threat ready to jump at your throat.
  • The Exosuit Husk, quite self-explanatory. Better bring out the big guns.
  • The Husk Chimera, a monstrosity made from repurposed body parts. Good luck.
In addition, humanoid Husks can now play dead and ambush you. Stay frosty, everyone!

Welcome back to this new patch notes!
On the second day after the release we received new feedback about the game, and we decided to put some of them into practice!

balance

1) Decreased the affection points needed for both girls' at intermediate affection levels, especially Haruka
2) Increased order spawn time

Quality of life

Added the order board to the minigame screen as well to make it easier for players enjoying the minigame to avoid having to close and open the minigame screen

Here's another batch of improvements! Keep bringing the feedback! ✨

Balance ⚖️
  • Garden Hoe will now trigger on all building drafts, not just population drafts.
  • Holt’s Observatory effect “+ 1 Spare time” changed from “at start of loop” to “at start of every island”.
  • Holt’s Hero Statue effect changed from “start of loop” to “start of every island”.
    Sibyl’s third kinship modified to make it easier : “Meet Sibyl with at least 3 combined feathers, beaks or talons”.
  • Housing Hall’s last upgrade Eitr income increased from 3 to 5.
  • Housing Hall’s range increased by about 10%.
  • Runic Forge event now has a cap of 100 Matter when trading.

Performance 🔨
  • Improved performances in Nidavellir biome.
  • Upgraded Unity version to take advantage of many small graphical performance fixes.

  • Previews of upgraded cards will now also show keywords that were added on the card.

Holt Improvements 🌲
  • Fixed Issues with destroying buildings which could cause effects to not be calculated properly.
  • Can now hold shift to destroy multiple buildings without selecting the Destroy card every time.

  • Added a “Refund All Placed Buildings” Button to restart the Holt without losing any resources.

  • Fixed Currency Displayer in wider resolutions being slightly out of screen in Workshop.

Bug Fixes 🐛
  • Artifacts
    • Fixed Munnin’s Wiseness and Huggin’s Thougts appeareance rate being too low.
    • Fixed an issue that caused talons to not affect action cards the first turn they are added to the deck.
    • Fixed “Trade Artifact” event and “Duplicate Artifact” sometimes selecting an invalid artifact.
    • Fixed “Soot of Rebirth” not triggering when playing curse cards with the “exhaust” keyword.
    • Fixed Might income obtained from Eir's passive staying inbetween islands.
  • Buildings & Artifacts
    • Fixed some upgraded buildings not counting for their milestones :
      • Hero Statue
      • Prospector
      • Blacksmith

    • Fixed Runic Stones event not remembering its contents when the window was closed, allowing for free rerolls! 👀
    • Fixed Maximalist achievement not counting cards properly.

  • UI & Tooltips
    • Fixed Decoration Booster Pack Tooltips to be more precise about its contents.
    • Fixed a few spelling errors in dialogues.
    • Artifact’s tooltips will now clearly indicated in their title how many instances you have.
    • Fixed an issue where the tooltips of Level Select’s elements sometimes wrongly indicated that the island would end up inside the Ginnungagap.
    • Fixed an issue in travel screen that would not show the Curse card being obtained in the tooltip when hovering a target location.
    • Fixed Lif’s “Exploit 60 Trees” Kinship display error. The display would count the trees exploited with other scions as well, but only award it if Scion was Lif.
    • Cursed Roots description now mentions that it also affects Asgard’s bridges.

    • Ambush Party’s tooltip has been updated to reflect that the population is removed on completion.

    • Eitr Limit’s tooltip now reflects that played curse cards also triggers the effect.
  • Curse Cards
    • Tooltips that refers to negative cards will now mention them as “curse cards” for consistency.

    • The card “Curse” has been renamed to “Void” to fit with new naming scheme.
