After a month, Backroom Lost is about to receive its first major update!
We would like to celebrate the first major update to Backroom Lost in his career and thank all players for their understanding and support. Players can update automatically via STEAM or by logging back into STEAM. There are a lot of content in this update, so please check it out carefully:
■Game main menu interface updated, new multiplayer online lobby
■The multiplayer mode system has been redone, with new features such as regional voice chat and text chat, and players can press the ‘v’ key to start chatting.
■Players can customise room creation, support up to four players, and choose any map to play on.
■Character model refinement, character movement optimisation, player name can be displayed in the game.
■FL0 map reset, environment refinement, lift lever control.
■FL_POOL_0.1 and FL_POOL maps have been added to the game.
■New pass in FL_0
■New anchor mode and smooth camera mode in ESC menu settings.
■ Currently the multiplayer online lobby uses STEAM nodes, STEAM network fluctuations may cause some players to be unable to search for other players' rooms. If you encounter such problems, please use an accelerator or check whether the STEAM network connection is normal.
================================================================================== Currently the game is still in paid beta, if you have any good suggestions or need to give feedback on bugs, you can go to the ‘IDEA & FEEDBACK’ thread in the discussion forum.
For five straight days, sixteen teams have slugged their way through the Playoffs, and eight teams have earned a coveted spot at the main event: Team Liquid, Cloud9, Tundra Esports and Gaimin Gladiators in the upper bracket, and BB Team, Team Falcons, Aurora Gaming and Xtreme Gaming in the lower bracket.
Congratulations to all eight teams as they vie to capture the Aegis at The International — only at Copenhagen's Royal Arena, starting on the luckiest day of the year, Friday, September 13th!
Watching The International Live
[h5]Schedule[/h5] The International Pre-show starts at 9:30 AM CEST, with the Opening Ceremony starting at 10 AM CEST and the first match between BB Team and Team Falcons starting soon after. Click here for the full schedule.
[h5]Getting In[/h5] Arena doors open at 8 AM CEST daily, two hours before every day's first match at 10 AM CEST, Friday through Sunday. Be ready to scan your Ticketmaster pass to gain entry (you can save it to your Android/Apple phone wallet for convenience). Make sure to get it scanned again anytime you leave, so you can use the same pass to re-enter.
[h5]Getting To The Royal Arena[/h5] Here are directions to the Royal Arena. There are Metro stations and a train station just a few minutes walk from the arena. Visit https://rejseplanen.dk/ for timetables.
[h5]Crimson Witness Treasure Drops[/h5] Inside the venue, there are two locations where you can show your ticket and pick up that day's commemorative badge, one near the ground floor entrance and another near the first floor main entrance. Each day has a unique badge, and you'll have to link that day's badge to be eligible for Crimson Witness treasures, which will be dropped randomly for attendees with bound badges at the first blood of every game. This year’s event-exclusive treasure includes updated Immortal items for Night Stalker, Meepo, Disruptor, Luna and Templar Assassin!
Watching The International Online
If you're one of the millions of Dota fans around the globe planning to watch The International online, check out the list below. From Twitch to YouTube to SteamTV, The International will be streamed on multiple platforms in multiple languages.
Custom portraits have been implemented. You can change a character's portrait by clicking on their portrait on the character sheet. That will let you browse for a file to use. Note that these portraits are NOT saved in the cloud and won't transfer across PCs (though if you have images with the same exact file path for the same image on both machines, they will still load). If a character's image is not found, it will pick a random one from the available character images. Be sure to save your game after selecting character portraits so they're remembered.
The amount of hitpoints and mana that a character has gained will now be shown in the level up notification message.
Improved the Thief class's ability to identify and disarm chest traps.
Saving the game (resting) at an inn will now cure sleep on any characters affected by it.
Immobilized (sleeping, paralyzed, etc) characters can no longer identify items.
Fixed an issue with quests being duplicated on the quest log window. Also made some formatting improvements.
Fixed an issue with losing focus while typing in the feedback form.
Fixed an issue where quitting to the menu and then starting a new game could start the new party in an incorrect location.
We’ve had a blast showcasing DEEPMESS at events over the summer like AnimeNYC x PlayNYC. A huge thanks to everyone who checked out the demo and for all the support!
We’ve added a new trait to the enemy pool: Fragile. Enemies with this trait are a bit weak in the knees and take damage on descent no matter where they land. Rough ‘em up before you drop for max damage!
Accompanying QoL changes and bug fixes:
- Added enemy trait: Fragile — enemy types with this trait will take damage on descent no matter what kind of tile they land on
- Added reminder bark to the Phone Beacon (don’t forget to give Gino a call!)
- Highscore tracker adjustments — refined metrics and multipliers, including penalties for downed player units
As you noticed, this kind of game has several various systems and it's cobbled together with duct tape and hopes. (In seriousness, it's quite a fancy system I designed from scratch).
As such, bugs are unfortunately possible, but I see your feedback and try to fix it ASAP. I do my best to minimize errors, but while testing, I often check something, then change a small portion of code later and assume that I didn't break that small thing... but it happened in this case.
This quick patch fixes and/or changes the following: - missing references to scenes after purchasing sex gadgets causing pink screen and test line - more "proper" window management, which should start as half of your resolution by default on the center of the native monitor instead of a predefined setting - disabled debug mode (I think) - updated engine version. While this might bring issues on its own, it should make the game more stable and from my quick testing I didn't find game-breaking issues, but keep me posted
As for the progression error two users reported, I cannot replicate it and don't know the cause of it yet. My guess is clicking too fast thus not registering events properly, but I don't know how to solve it yet.
If there are more issues, let me know! The best way would be to write in Community Hub as I get notification for each post - https://steamcommunity.com/app/3136020
We’re here to ask for your help as we prepare for the release of the next patch of Relic Hunters Legend. From September 16 to 18, we’ll be conducting a Beta Test that focuses on one of the most crucial changes in the game: the transfer of player progress from our online servers to local devices. We also want to test the Cosmetics revamp and Help Others related features.
This will be a technical test, and we’re counting on our dedicated Early Access players to join us in making sure everything works smoothly. Your help will ensure that everyone’s hard-earned progress is safely transferred as we transition to offline and optional co-op modes.
Please note, any progress made during this technical beta will not be transferred to the regular version of the game. You will be able to play as you want, but progression will not carry over.
Once Patch 0.11 is released, the final Account Migration will happen automatically once you log into the game.
Why We Need Your Help 🛠️
As a small indie team, we’ve faced numerous challenges this year. Every decision and change we’ve made has been with our community in mind, but we simply don’t have the resources to test everything on our own. That’s why we need our most committed Hunters to step up and help us make sure these crucial features function as intended.
Your participation in this Technical Beta Test will help us ensure that:
Player progress is transferred correctly from servers to local storage.
The new system is stable and free from bugs or glitches.
Any issues are identified early so we can fix them before the final release.
What You’ll Be Testing:
This test will focus specifically on the progression migration feature. When you log in during the Beta, your online progress will be transferred to your local device. From there, you can play offline or in co-op, without the need for servers.
We’ll need your feedback on the process:
Did your progress transfer successfully?
Did you experience any bugs or errors during the migration?
Are there any glitches or issues in the new system?
How to Get Involved 💻
Start Date: September 16, 2024
End Date: September 18, 2024
Technical Details and How to enter on the Beta Build: Since this is a more technical test, we encourage participants to check our Discord server for more detailed instructions and support. You’ll find everything you need to know about how the test will work, as well as how to report issues.

We’ve worked tirelessly to keep Relic Hunters Legend alive and thriving, despite the challenges we’ve faced. Your involvement in this Beta Test will not only ensure a smoother final release but will also help us continue creating the best experience possible for all players.
Thank You in Advance 🙏
Every bit of feedback counts. We’re incredibly grateful for our community and appreciate the time and effort you’ll put into helping us with this test. Together, we can make Relic Hunters Legend the game it was always meant to be!
