Over the last week, we have been reading and discussing your feedback about our announced plans for the Event Cycle launching on September 19th and Last Epoch’s next large update targets. We want to continue this discussion with you today and get your feedback directly.
We are holding a Poll for the next 48 hours regarding our Cycle Event and will act in accordance to your input. We think the details of this post are important for making an informed decision, but we want to make sure that the poll doesn’t get lost in the mix.
As always, we are working closely with community feedback to identify the best path forward for future updates to Last Epoch, and it’s clear that the community is eager for key improvements: expanded end-game content, better onboarding for new players, dungeon improvements, continued performance optimizations, and, of course, more balance and variety.
With this in mind, and after closely monitoring the ARPG landscape for later this year, we’ve decided to adjust our development priorities and timelines. Instead of focusing on some of the originally planned content for patch 1.2, we will prioritize delivering on the key improvements listed above. To achieve this, we’ll be moving much of the content originally planned for patch 1.3 into patch 1.2 and deliver a large, rescoped patch in Q1 of 2025. We acknowledge that the irregular Cycle duration is not ideal and aim for more consistent Cycle cadence going forward. However, we believe that prioritizing these high-demand updates will provide more value than adhering to a strict schedule at this stage.
That said, we are going to get some great updates out to you earlier with the upcoming 1.1 Event, and we believe a Cycle reset coinciding with this release may be favorable to the playerbase.
The Imperial Uprising Event
On September 19th, we are releasing some exciting updates that (based on the feedback we received from the poll) may or may not include a fresh start to the standard environment.
To remind you of some of the updates coming next week:
Event Modifiers:
NEW: Favor Gain Bonus (Community Requested)
Reputation Gain Bonus
Gold Drop Rate Bonus
Random Unique Drop Rate Bonus
Additional Undead Enemy Spawns in Monoliths
20+ New Shrine types
Addition of Loot Lizards
Dungeon Quality of Life (”QoL”) Updates
Stash Tab Priority System
Merchants Guild Search Improvements
Undead Enemy Updates
And More
We’ll be sharing more details of the content coming in the Cycle Event - The Imperial Uprising this Friday the 13th.
We would love to hear from you if you’d like a Cycle reset at this time. This means all of your existing characters move to Legacy and are still entirely playable in that environment, and you have a chance to restart new characters in the Cycle 1.1 environment with a fresh economy.
Thanks again for your support of Last Epoch, for taking the time to give your feedback, and for helping make the game the best it can be. Keep an eye out for some additional polls and surveys coming soon so your voice can be heard for future developments. Our team is excited and working more efficiently and better than ever to get the next big updates for Last Epoch in your hands.

As we transition out of our 2 week Patch cycle into a monthly cadence, The Muerto Times will shift back into having a “Fix in Testing”, “Under Investigation”, and “Needs More Info” section.
The Muerto Times is not a substitution for Patch Notes but we aim to give folks more information on what we are testing to be fixed for our next patch, what we have our eyes on, and what our team needs more information on.
We appreciate all of your patience as we all get adjusted to this new cadence.
Hello, this is Troels Jørgensen. I’m the composer on Void Crew (actually also part sound designer, but more about that later). You might know my other work, from the soundtrack (and sound effects) on the game “Deep Rock Galactic”.
The visual aesthetics of Void Crew draw upon ancient Egyptian themes, mixed with futuristic sci-fi elements. And the music should reflect and support that.
Most of the time when working on a soundtrack you feel like working blindfolded in the beginning, but eventually you start fleshing out ideas and approaches that you can draw on, for the whole soundtrack.
METEM technology includes things like sarcographs - used for printing the Ectypes
While I was experimenting to find a way to illustrate the above, in the music, I found some themes that I kept going back to, that you can find in the game as well.
The feeling of awe, of being lost in complete nothingness. Feeling like nothing, but connected to everything at the same time. A sense of serenity, beauty and wonder.
Ancient wrath, ancient Gods, huge powerful forces that you cannot control. The sensation of thousand year old Egyptian/Middle Eastern Gods, that are much more advanced than you and at the same time, very much rooted in ancient times.
The sense of adventure. Going where no-one has ever been before. Much like the old Christopher Columbus-like explorers. You don’t know what is around the corner. A treasure chest or shipwreck.
Different Instruments to Set the Moods
While not a strict rule, but using it as a general guide line, I illustrated the different moods with different combinations of instruments:
I tried illustrating the feeling of awe and one-ness, by using very airy and delicate sounding swirling synthesizers, along with cinematic strings (an example of this is the track “The Endless Void”, “Light Among the Wicked”, “Home Among the Stars” and others).
I tried illustrating the ancient wrath by using crushed sounding synthesizers, middle eastern instruments and middle eastern rhythms played on distorted drum machines (an example of this is the track “METEM”. “Doctrine of Power”, “Rebirth by Trial” and others).
The sense of adventure and ship-exploring I tried hinting at, by using European instruments that reminds you of pirates and explorers. Old church organs. Pipe organs. Harps and traditional European strings (an example of this is the track “Passage through the Void”, “A Promise and Reward”, “Into the Unknown” and others).
Again this was not a strict rule, and you will find many crossovers of instruments, but the general palette of instruments combined, still alludes to a general feeling of old European explorers, ancient Egyptian Gods, serenity and one-ness, good old sci-fi and bad-ass action.
I should mention that I laid the foundational groundwork for the sound effects as well (ship and weapon sound design approaches and general mood), but after some time I had to move on to other projects and the talented Tomasz Kulisz took over (also read: "Hutlihut - Spacelog #4. My Spaceship is Alive" Using Animal Sounds").
It was a joy to make the soundtrack. Seriously. I loved the theme of the game and I think this soundtrack turned out great. I had very free hands and was very much in charge of the musical direction. I had time to go and explore different approaches, but at the same time always having the final product in mind. As a general rule, I always want my tracks to be great in their own right, outside any game. It should be an engaging and great experience listening to my tracks, even if you never ever played a video game before.
I think I succeeded. I find myself listening to the soundtrack when going for long car or train rides. What can I say? I really enjoyed the process and the outcome. I feel very fortunate to have been a part of this project.

These 22 tracks feature a mixture of mighty battle music and serene soundscapes of the Void for players to experience in Void Crew. Ominous ancient powers clash with electronic beats. Mythological meets futuristic, inspired by tribal motifs and electronic music. An exciting take on the sci-fi genre.

Fixes & Improvements
Physics
Improved the fidelity of terrain deformation on nearly all outdoor tracks.
Improved accuracy of tire positions and behaviors on sloped, bermed, and deformed surfaces.
Added safeguards to initiating scrubs to reduce occurrences of accidental scrubs caused by leaning and turning to get setup on a jump face. Scrubs can be initiated in this situation by quickly releasing the leaning input then reengaging the scrub input as normal.
Improved rev limiter behavior (physics only) on all bikes. In manual gearbox, when you hit the rev limiter now, and you don't shift up, the bike doesn't move forward and backwards anymore, it is now a lot smoother and satisfying.
Improved automatic shifting timing on 125 2-stroke MX bikes. The engine will rev slightly longer before up-shifting, and will also down-shift much sooner when loosing speed while on the throttle, keeping the RPMs in a better range.
Online
Online races will advance to the results if all active players have finished the race.
Players who are idle on a Squad Compound servers for 15 minutes are now removed.
Fixed issue preventing 5 specific stunts animations from being displayed to other players online. (Corolla, Body Flip, Electric Death, Heel Clicker, Bike Flip)
Fixed cause of rare server crashes.
Fixed a common issue causing the camera to revert to the default camera type when transitioning between events online.
Custom Camera positions are now preserved when Spectating events online. Accessing custom camera controls when spectating is still in progress.
Fixed a common crash when joining an online event with active players.
Tracks
All single-lap Trails-style Invitational events have been relocated to the Trails category.
More event settings have been added to the Invitationals category; format, laps and race time can now be adjusted.
UI
Replaced Split Time in Waypoint HUD with Split Time list panel which displays split times and checkpoints difference for all racers as they cross checkpoints.
The Event Name is now displayed at the start of an online Freestyle event.
Adjusted the position of the combo score points shoutout in Free Ride and in Freestyle.
Fixed missing Waypoint location HUD elements in Split Screen.
Animation
Pit Bike rear suspension and brake line no longer collapse strangely when uncompressed.
Known Issues
Gameplay
Frame rates exceeding 60 FPS may experience visual errors and inconsistent gameplay behaviors, especially when exceeding 120 FPS.
During Online races, the Post-Race Results menu is duplicated after about 30 seconds.
In Split Screen races, the event does not conclude after both players finish the race.
Periodic crashes on PS5.
During Time Trials, the lap timer continues counting up after completing the third laps; this is a display issue, laps times are tracked correctly behind the scenes.
During Online races, non-Leader members of the squad will not be able to vote on playlists if the squad started in the Squad Compound. Terrain colors on Orlando SX are distorted.
Customization
Colorization may not appear on certain some bike parts when loading into an event. The issue is not permanent and resolves itself when re-equipping the vehicle or restarting the event. We are investigating a fix for the next patch.
