Regency Solitaire II - Helen
We're delighted to announce that due to our recent game update, Valve has now given Regency Solitaire II an official Green Tick.

What does it mean?
After each game is reviewed by Valve, it is categorized for its level of compatibility of Steam Deck. You’ll see these categories on Steam, when you’re browsing your library or shopping for games on Deck.

The green tick means not only is Regency Solitaire II playable on the Steam Deck, but it has been given the official seal of approval that it plays GREAT on Steam Deck!

Enjoy! ːsteamthumbsupː

Earthling of Gaia - imakumi-industries
Changes
- improvement of the consistency for gesture based attacks
- longer tutorial level for better understanding of the game
- better description of the shop page
- fixed a bug, which didn't let you grab your hat

The game runs well. However since the bending system is complicated, I add this to the description of the game on the shop page. Next time don't skip the tutorial, pls.

Some people may use gestures, which are not attacks, but still expect the enemy to fall over. The hitboxes always worked fine. I couldn't find a problem with that.

Countryballs: The Heist - pterix
In addition to over 250 playable CountryBALLS, some new, non-spherical characters are now joining the crazy heists as well. In this news article, we introduce you to these quirky characters and explain why these nations each showcase a unique shape.

Oh, and don’t forget to celebrate your excitement for Countryballs: The Heist with a free Community Avatar: Click here to access the Community Avatars

Our first candidate is Chile:

Chile’s elongated, snake-like shape is evident from a glance at a world map. The country is squeezed between the Pacific Ocean to the west and the Andes Mountains to the east, stretching over 4,300 km (2,672 miles) along the South American continent.

Another unique feature: The Spanish spoken in Chile is markedly different from Spanish in other countries – stretching the limits of linguistic possibilities to the max.
________

Israel as a semi-transparent cube:

Why a cube?
The answer: 'Jewish Physics'…

In the 1930s, Germany saw the rise of the absurd doctrine of 'German Physics,' which rejected and disparaged the theory of relativity and quantum mechanics as 'Jewish Physics.' An early Countryball comic picks up on this and has the scientifically gifted Israel discover that Countryballs are actually 4-dimensional hypercubes.

And why is it slightly transparent? Because Israel is not recognized by a significant number of United Nations (UN) member states, particularly in the Middle East. In their view, Israel doesn't exist (invisible), while the majority of member states clearly see it as a sovereign state. A mix of both perspectives contributes to Israel's semi-transparent appearance.
________

Kazakhbrick:

There are two popular theories about the shape of Kazakhstan.

Theory 1: The Countryball phenomenon famously began on the internet platform Krautchan, where, alongside user names, a country flag icon was displayed. When these flags were later transformed into Countryballs, Kazakhstan was simply overlooked and retained its rectangular flag shape.

Theory 2: The English word 'brick' sounds similar to the acronym for the rapidly growing economies BRIC(S) (Founding states: Brazil, Russia, India, China). Kazakhstan would also like to be part of these economic powers – so having a fitting appearance can’t hurt.
________

Nepalrawr!

With a bit of imagination, the world’s most uniquely shaped flag resembles a gaping dragon’s mouth. Nepal’s old flag from 1774 even had fringes that looked like hundreds of needle-sharp tiny teeth – true nightmare material.

Another plausible explanation attributes the flag’s frightening appearance to the fear of the monstrous Himalayan mountains, from which the roaring thunder of storms, avalanches, and NepalRAAAAWR echoes.
________

Pana
Ma:

Panama takes the concept of 'being in two minds' quite literally. Not only does the country connect the continents of North and South America, but the construction of the 82 km (51 miles) long Panama Canal has effectively divided it into two halves. Accordingly, the countryball is also split horizontally.

________

Singa… uh… Tringapore:

The reason why Singapore is depicted as a triangle is not entirely clear.
Some sources refer to the "Growth Triangle" of Indonesia-Malaysia-Singapore, an economic alliance aimed at making the region more attractive to investors.

Other sources point to the three largest ethnic groups in the country (Chinese, Malays, Indians) or claim that 'Tringapore' seems more cheerful compared to the solitary and less happy connotation of 'single'.

Well, we can't help but love Singapore when it looks so cute.

In the finished game Countryballs: The Heist, you’ll discover fascinating facts about every country around the world. So, it’s definitely worth adding to your wishlist!

Thank you very much.

Argentum Online - Plus
Hello everyone!

This time we want to share with you a Devlog about AI and Argentum Online source code, Recox shows us how AI can help us present and improve code within the game, we apologize for the technical issues at the end of the video, we hope you enjoy it.

Mole Maiden - Tastie
Hello everyone, and thank you so much for tuning into another dev update for Mole Maiden. Wow, I can’t believe it’s the end of August already. It’s been a whole month, and what a month it has been for Mole Maiden. There is lots of very exciting news to share, so let's not waste any time and jump right into it.

Another Huge Milestone has been Reached:
This month marked the completion of all boss fights in Mole Maiden! With this huge goal finally checked off I can safely share that Mole Maiden will feature thirteen unique boss battles, which I consider to be a very big accomplishment.

Long time readers will know that before Mole Maiden, I had never made a game with such a heavy focus on combat, so to go from making what many would consider cozy co-op games like JTTS and Tour of Aki Island to a bombastic boss-rush action platformer like Mole Maiden has been a very big learning experience for me.

Everything I have learned about programming Boss AI has come from careful analysis of the games that I play and experimentation. For example, one of Mole Maiden’s biggest influences, Punch-Out, taught me how bosses with personality and distinct characteristics can make them very memorably in the eyes of a player, and Games like Elden Ring showed me that the flow of a good boss fight relies not on the boss being aggressive all the time but rather picking the windows on when to make the boss aggressive and when to make the boss step away to give the player some breathing room.

Over the course of development, designing boss battles has got to the point where I could create and iterate on ideas very quickly. I am really looking forward to seeing everyone’s reaction to all of Mole Maiden’s bosses when the game comes out next year!

Finally, Some Much Needed Support:
As some of you might already know, Mole Maiden was accepted to be part of the new Level Up Accelerator Program at Shawnee State University!!!

✨ Wow, amazing!!! ✨ But what does that mean?

Well, it means a couple of things. It means I will be spending the next two months getting a proper entrepreneurial education. How do I make a business plan for launching Mole Maiden? What's coming after Mole Maiden, and how do I get ready for that? Business stuff.

Next, I can get some awesome mentors. I didn't have many entrepreneurial mentors who have also worked in the game space at college. This program will fix that.

Finally, and best of all, a plethora of different campus and game dev-related resources will be available to me. Discounts to different game dev and legal services, entry to four major Midwest trade shows over the course of the rest of the year. But best of all, I can finally pitch to a board of directors and get a small amount of $$$ to put toward marketing my game in the last 5 months and giving it the best chance for success I can.

So yeah, this is a pretty huge win, and I feel really, really blessed to have been accepted! Thank you all so much for your love and support with this project.

Intern Spotlight:
During this intern spotlight I would like to highlight some of the excellent sound work done by Mr. Noah Girdler. Noah is Mole Maiden’s sound design intern and a recent graduate of Indiana University Jacobs School of Music.

Take a look at some of the awesome sound work done by him for the area Eden.

What’s Next:
By the end of next month, Mole Maiden’s story will be done. And then when October will be over, the game will be done, but not finished. This is called Beta, and it's the last step before the game finally gets released.

My interns and I are working very hard to make sure we meet this deadline, so wish us luck. Also keep your eyes on our the socials to find out what different trade shows we will be going to during the remainder of this year. Thank you all for your support, see you in the next update.
