This wouldn't have been possible without YOU, our community. Shapez 2 has so much feedback integrated during the two years and it's so amazing developing this game together! Thank you for participating in the surveys, giving constant feedback and playtesting the early builds – especially the Patrons, Mods and Community Helpers!) It's something we want to keep doing and we are super excited to push the game even further during early access - this is just the beginning.

That being said, I don't want to distract you - the factory must grow!

What's next?
We are going through all the feedback right now (we try to read every post!), which will probably take a few days as new feedback is constantly added.

In the meantime, we are already working on 0.0.8 which fixes a few issues and also adds some improvements, like automatic space belt tunnel placement and rail launcher placement. We also are finetuning the space belt visuals to better show on which layer the shapes are, but this might not make it into this update.

In about a week we will then run a survey to collect even more feedback, and then in around 2-3 weeks we should be able to put together a first 'roadmap'! Our goal is that the first major update will be really worth picking up the game again (in case you ever stopped)! Based on your ideas we will put together 3 different options for what this major update could be and let you vote!

Ranking Queue Reset & Updates



In an effort to improve the process of ranking mapsets, we have made several changes to our ranking queue.

These changes are meant to reduce the amount of mapsets in the queue and improve the quality of the ranked section going forward.

Notable Updates

  • The entire ranking queue has been reset. You will need to submit your mapset(s) to the ranking queue again if you are still eligible.

  • In order to submit a mapset to the ranking queue, you need to have uploaded 10 mapsets to the game.

  • Mapsets now require two denials instead of one to be marked as denied.
New Additions

  • Updated mapset & ranking queue submission to API 2.0.

  • Donators can now upload 20 mapsets per month with a 100MB file size limit.

  • Added an option to not automatically delete files when importing them.

  • Added the ability to place long notes while using the number keys in the editor.

  • Added skinning for the judgement and combo bump animations.

  • Added skinning to override map backgrounds with custom images.

  • Added an option to display receptors over the lane cover.

  • An alert is now shown in the editor when exporting a mapset with unsaved changes.

  • The editor now always uses unlimited FPS.
Bug Fixes

  • Audio visualizers in the menus now use less memory.

Design Your own battlefield!

We’re excited to bring you an update that’s all about creativity and community-driven fun! Our Mission Editor is in the works, and though it’s still in the early stages, we’re already testing its functionalities. Here’s a glimpse into what’s coming:

  • Design Freedom: Players will have the ability to create missions from scratch, using a variety of tools to place objectives, set enemy formations, and customize mission parameters. Whether it’s a daring solo raid or a chaotic all-out dogfight, the possibilities are endless.
  • Testing in Progress: We’re currently testing the core functionalities of the editor to ensure it’s intuitive, flexible, and robust. Our goal is to make it easy for anyone to jump in and start creating, while still offering depth for those who want to get really creative.
  • Share the Fun: A key feature of the Mission Editor will be the ability to share your custom missions with the community. Players will be able to upload their creations, browse missions made by others, and rate their favorites. This is your chance to become a mission mastermind and see how your ideas stack up against those of other players!

While some UI improvements are minor, all are designed to make the game more intuitive and interactive. In this screen shot, you can see we added some highlights to help you identify selected machines. This same update applies to all hiring screens.



Here is an updated save screen. Again small visual clues should make the screens more navigable.

We’re thrilled to announce that the latest update is now officially live on the main branch. After extensive testing and refining, the Chase Cam, new weapon types, and several other improvements have been rolled out for everyone to enjoy. Here’s a quick look at what’s included:

New Features:



Chase Cam: Experience the action from an all-new third-person perspective. This camera mode brings you closer to the cosmic chaos, adding a fresh layer of immersion to your gameplay.

New Weapon Types:

  • Burst Fire: Unleash a rapid volley of your ship's primary projectile in just 0.5 seconds. Perfect for those intense moments when every second counts.
  • Spin Fire: Take down enemies from all directions! Your ship spins and fires a barrage of primary projectiles, covering a wide area with destruction.

Gameplay Enhancements:

  • New Camera Control Options: Easily toggle between camera modes directly from your keyboard or gamepad for a seamless experience.
  • Improved Boss Mechanics: Boss encounters have been adjusted for better visibility and engagement, ensuring that each battle is as thrilling as it is challenging.

We are now focusing on fixing the bugs and UI control issues. After the game is stable again, we have short term plan to make more new contents for the game including:
- New Endless Arena battle mode after you are finishing a story mode (You can choose to leave anytime you want or just start a new run like you did before)
- New Artifact backup system, to let some artifacts to have more different copies in the vault
- More blessing kind of affix that adds more fun to some certain synergy build
- New free character DLC that unlocks a paladin character who is capable of Holy and Defence
- New Skill Tree system
- Training Room, A place to test all buildings and skills
- New DLC - Legacy of Mortia which contain at least two new playable characters, new map Dwarf Kindom Mortia, new skills, new Boss, new Synergy, new events, new artifacts
- New system Trial of Gods. Players can choose whether to accept the trial at the start of a battle. The trial will strengthen the enemies in the battle. Passing the trial will get soul stones, gold coins and consumables as rewards
- New Gem Socketing System
- Greater Rift, New mode that focus more on buildings
- More events, more artifacts, more weapons, more affixes, more skills etc


And we will listen to the communities' voice and keep polishing the game.

NEW
- Added a new mechanism, Artifact Banishment. Now you can exile unwanted artifacts when selecting artifacts picking a cube or in store. The exiled artifacts will not appear again in this game
- Added black market item artifact exile scrolls, which can replenish the artifact exile times
- Added the Magic Court Enhancement artifact banishment times increased
- Added a new atonement challenge. If you only have one skill, can you finish a run?
- Added a new Trial of Judgement. In this battle, X random skills will be frozen and cannot be used
- New feature, now only dash can pass through enemies


Adjust
- Now you can access all the cyclopedia during a game
- Shortened the spawn interval of enemies in endless mode, and reduced the number of enemies spawned at a time. Now the enemy spawn frequency will be higher
- Character Special Skills now have independent visibility adjustment


Bugfix
- Fixed the issue of some keyboard key conflicts when renaming the artifact vault or the wheel of stars
- Fixed the issue of too many digits in the dps display
- Fixed the issue where fewer enemies would spawn when playing at 2x speed
