《轮回之沙》将于今日,北京时间8月13日16时开启首次测试,以下是一些您可能需要知道的信息:

1、本次测试为邀请制,您需要使用邀请邮件中的激活码来激活游戏。

2、若您还未获得激活码,则可以申请加入官方Q群(271940805)向群主索取。

3、8月13日16时后,已激活并下载游戏的玩家需要做一次简短的更新才能进入游戏。若游戏在16时后仍未提示更新,则您可以尝试重新登录Steam客户端

4、如果你在游戏过程中遇到任何问题或者有任何建议,都可以在官方Q群(271940805)中提出。

5、进入游戏后,可以前往风陵关中央的冒险沙盘处,开始进行寻宝。

First of all thank you to those who have wishlisted the game as I have done zero advertising of it, you have ensured that I will not be giving up on this but it is taking longer than I expected...

To be honest the base game aspect was done within a week but I've been having a lot of issues with the Steam API wrapper. For those of you who don't know, Unity is coded in C# but the Steam API is coded in C++ which means I need to use a wrapper in order to implement it. There are 2 reputable options for this and I chose the one that's supposed to be simpler but doesn't have as good of documentation so learning to use it has been quite hard. From the looks of it I only need to fix a few more things for everything to properly work, but I've been stuck on those things for about a week now so I might have to start over with the other wrapper method if I can't figure this out soon.

I have never worked with C# or C++ before so all of this is new to me, the idea mainly interested me because I'm a graphic designer and enjoy making the variations of collectibles. That being said it is going about as expected for someone who has never coded a game before lol.

If all goes well then I should get this fixed within 2-3 days and Steam's verification takes 3-5 days so I'm hoping it'll be ready for release by next Friday at the latest. Steam won't allow me to change the release date until the final build is submitted.

Item Plans

I've shared on Discord my initial inventory plans so I'll share that here as well. To start out there will be Common, Uncommon, and Rare items, there will also be Epic and Legendary later on but I want those to be animated which will take longer and currently I'm focusing mainly on the coding part. Drops will be given every 5-30 minutes (a random time in that range) with guaranteed Rare or higher drops at the 3 hour and 12 hour marks, the 12 hour will be a guaranteed Epic or higher once those are implemented. I haven't figured out the exact drop rate yet but once it's confirmed I will be adding it to the Store page for the best transparency, once the higher rarities come out the drop rates will obviously change but any changes will be added to the store page.

I will also be making sure my inventory is set to public and I will have one of every Item available so that everyone can see what the options are, those will be "vaulted" and will NEVER be sold on the marketplace by me. All economy prices will be dictated by the players themselves like it should be, the only price I control is the items available in the shop, which is required for a game to have in order for the items to be tradable on the steam market as far as I understand. All shop items will also be available as drops once they leave the store rotation so there is no requirement to make a purchase in order to collect everything! I do appreciate anyone who buys any shop items, they will be low priced for anyone who wants to support me.

Again, sorry for the delays. I really expected the coding part to go smoother than this but i am only Sorta Smart after all... I'm doing my best to make sure it's properly functioning, I'm only a single person doing everything!

3.25.1 Patch Notes

Settlers Improvements

  • Reworked how shipping Thaumaturgic Dust affects Shipping Risk and Rewards. Previously, it was multiplying the shipment value and having a disproportionately high impact on risk compared to rewards. Now, it simply adds to Shipment Value and scales the amount of rewards based on the other goods being shipped. This means the way Thaumaturgic Dust affects Shipment Value/Risk now directly correlates with the amount of rewards you will receive, and in almost all cases this is a buff from before.
  • When Recombinating items, rarer Modifiers now have a much higher chance to be selected for the resulting item than before.
  • Players now spawn further away from the portal in the Admiral Valerius Boss Area to help prevent leaving by accident.
  • Added the Uber Boss Fragments, missing Fossils, and the Blighted Scouting Report to the Currency Exchange.

General Improvements and Changes

  • Adjusted the following Tier 17 Map Modifiers:
    • Tier 17 Sawblades mod slowed down and there are only 3 sawblades (from 6)
    • The Marked for Death debuff no longer prevents the recovery of life and energy shield. It now increases damage taken by 50% (from 30%)
    • Players and their Minions deal no damage for 3 out of every 10 seconds (from 4 seconds every 10 seconds)
    • Players have 3% reduced Action Speed for each time they've used a skill recently (from 4%)
    • Monsters have 100% increased Area of Effect and fire 2 additional Projectiles (from 4 additional Projectiles)
    • Monsters take 35-45% reduced Extra Damage from Critical Strikes (from 100%)
    • Players have 25-30% less Area of Effect (from 50%)
    • Players have 25-30% less Defences (from 50%)
    • Rare and Unique monsters remove 5% of life, mana and energy shield from players or their minions on hit (from 10%)
  • The following mods no longer roll on Tier 17 Maps:
    • 100% reduced Effect of Curses on Monsters
    • Players have -2 to maximum number of Summoned Totems
    • Players in Area take 20% increased Damage per nearby Ally
    • Players cannot gain Endurance, Frenzy, or Power Charges
    • Players cannot Recharge Energy Shield, and Players cannot Regenerate Life, Mana or Energy Shield
    • Players cannot Block, and Players cannot Suppress Spell Damage
    • Players have 90% reduced effect of Non-Curse Auras from Skills
    • Players have 80% less Recovery Rate of Life and Energy Shield
    • Monsters Cannot be Leeched From
  • Added a new Tier 17 Map Modifier: Players have 50-60% reduced Maximum total Life, Mana and Energy Shield Recovery per second from Leech.
  • The Divination Scarab of Plenty now grants additional Packs of Magic Monsters that have 800% increased chance to drop Divination Cards, instead of modifying existing packs in the area. It also now has a limit of 5 (from 1).
  • The Bestiary Craft to 30% quality a map, now specifies it grants 30% base quality (replacing any alternate quality types from Maven Chisels). This fixes a bug where if you used this craft on a map with quality from a Maven Chisel it wouldn't have added more of the alternate quality.
  • Updated the Vengeful Cry Skill Gem description to clarify that Minions cannot gain rage.
  • The Singular Carapaces Atlas Passive has been renamed to Towering Carapaces.
  • Updated remaining text referencing Reliquary Scarabs to correctly say Titanic Scarabs.
  • Added a slot for Kaom's Command Unique Siege Helmet to the Unique Stash Tab.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug where some players were unable to use Manage Town option from Johan.
  • Fixed the Ransom option not stating how much gold is required.
  • Fixed a bug where Quality on Life, Mana, and Hybrid Flasks was incorrectly scaling Duration.
  • Fixed a bug where Map crafting options from Scarabs were not appearing if placed in the 6th slot of the Map Device.
  • Fixed a bug with Admiral's Arrogance Unique where the chance to gain Maximum Rage from hits granting Rage was applying for all hits.
  • Fixed a bug with the Taste of Hate Unique Flask where its Chill and Freeze Avoidance, and Physical as Added Cold Damage effects were not applying.
  • Fixed a bug where the Vengeance Notable Passive Skill granting Rage when Hit by Enemies was incorrectly applying to all Hits and not just Hits by Enemies.
  • Fixed a bug where the Savage Intensity Notable Passive Skill was not reducing the Rage Cost of Skills.
  • Fixed a bug where the Sepulchre Map Boss, Doedre the Defiler, would fail to drop guaranteed rewards after being killed in her second form.
  • Fixed the Meteor on Flask Use Tier 17 Map Modifier and Searing Exarch Altar Modifier having no impact effect.
  • Fixed a bug where the Plummeting Kahuturoa Unique Finisher Effect Microtransaction could not be used along with a Rare Monster Finisher Effect.

We're Getting Deeper Into The Abyss - Gloopy Cat
Heyoooo, another day, another devlog.

THE VIDEO!

This time, I got a video for ya. If you got an hour to spare, I discuss WE'RE GETTING DEEPER INTO THE ABYSS near the end of the video, even showing off a new character design from 2018. But I plan on putting them in the game, fun fun. It talks about the games I worked on over the years and me as an artist, I didn't get too deep into this game, but it does have some details in the game and what the gameplay will be about. But if you're following this game consistently, then hey. You may already know!

I feel video form is better! I suck at explaining since my ADHD lets me yap and I feel I may be rude sometimes when I don't mean to be, haha. I just suck at talking to others. Anyway, let's get into this one.



LOTTA NEW STUFF. AND I MEAN A LOT. ENVIRONMENT STUFF!

So, okay. I've been working on trees, grass, and adding a lot of those over the time. It's been kinda... Repetitive to say the least. But this is something that makes the world look more nicer. I don't want to have the same single tree placed and same single grass model placed constantly. So, this is what I'm working on.

What happened to the buildings I was working on? Don't worry! These are being worked on constantly. I figured I need to make the world look nicer, and to do that, foliage was a focus. The foliage are painted in Substance painter, or Krita.

- Trees = Substance Painter
- Grass = Substance Painter
- Leaf Textures = Krita


The cool thing about the grass too, it has collision! So when the player steps on them, it squishes! Kinda cool, just a small detail.



Also, when you get too close to a certain object, like a tree for an example it has an effect to where it'll disappear / fade away. This is just something that's common in games now, or sometimes it won't in games? I've seen the camera in games just have collision and bump against walls and get closer to the player, this game won't have issues with the camera, so don't worry about fighting the camera.



Regarding NFTS... I say NO to them for my projects.

I would also like to say, I received an email talking about selling my art (characters of this game, models, etc) and just to clarify. I WILL NEVER EVER SELL NFTs OF THIS GAME OR MY CHARACTERS! So, if you ever see anything of my character or anything that says the developer agrees of this, so uhh.. Me? No. I don't. I will release ART of my characters that you can download and use as anything you'd like, profile photos, desktop backgrounds, phone backgrounds, anything. Just DON'T fall for any scams related to my small game if you see any.

I'm a small creator, so uh. Highly doubt anything is going to happen, but still. It worries me, yeah? Just would like to spread the word!

REDESIGN OF THE ART STYLE. EVENTUALLY...

So uh, I've been thinking of working on the art style eventually. This is a major change, but not too major, you're seeing the same gameplay, but the main character will be changing sprites and animations. I feel I can make a better drawing of him overall. I feel it could just be better. I made him when I didn't know anything about digital art and now I know a bit of it. So, I may experiment with some art styles and come back to the public with some ideas. But the world will stay the same. Maybe, no promises. I tend to change my mind a lot, haha.

I've mostly just been messing around with modeling still and I know it's been quiet, that video was something I worked on and honestly, I don't think it's a big devlog, but it shows you my history as a developer. But hey! Hopefully it's still interesting. I'll share more as time comes along.

When time comes to share more, I tend to update more in the Discord server, so please join there. Also, I plan on streaming my game development sometimes, so check me out there if you'd like. Only really plan on streaming the game development process and that's really it. Rarely will I do anything else because I'm not really a variety streamer.
