This is Simon and Luca from Firepunchd Games! We are really excited to announce that the Island Builder Expansion is now available, free to all players of Tentacular!
We spent the last year and a half working on the new features for this update, encouraged by the kind words and feedback from our players. So this expansion is our way of saying thank you to you all for believing in us.
The update is quite massive- we are really hoping to make a splash 🙂.
The expansion is adding the option for players to create their own Islands from scratch. The new Creation Glove will allow all of you to freely build and rule your newly created islands to your heart’s content. You can choose to be benevolent rulers, or wreck havoc on your newly formed civilizations – it’s your choice!! This sandbox mode will also showcase some user created levels that are hand picked by the team for you to check out and be inspired from!
In addition to adding a ton of content to the sandbox mode, we also went a step further and created additional side missions and challenges! These side missions feature La Kalma’s sister island, Salmoa, and sees the return of everyone’s favorite tentacled friend. A very special side quest lets you meet the development team and even features a brand new boss battle.
We’ve also added a new “Cheat Terminal”. Players will have to type in secret codes to unlock special easter eggs, or quirky changes. Using the terminal you can even skip missions if you’re struggling with the floppiness of your tentacles. Luca and I are so excited to see how players use Tentacular’s unique system to create amazing islands. Thanks to everyone who has played Tentacular through and have left a positive review. We really appreciate the loving and caring community that has sprung out our quirky game.
I am quite excited about this change. The new character portraits make the NPCs stand out and improve the immersion. There are still a few more portraits missing, but there is an end in sight.
Item Sockets
In the last few months I was thinking about itemization a lot and ultimately improved items and modifications. However, there was still one thing missing... Sockets. Now it is possible to socket items with gems and other things to increase your damage, enhance your resistances, improve your item find or even add status bonuses.
Perfect Blocking with Shields
Recently, shields got a major improvement. When blocking right before an attack hits, you won't use any stamina to block that attack. Heavier shields tend to use more stamina when blocking an attack, so this new feature may be useful for your "sword and shield" builds.

Complete rework of the desert biome (it's been sadly neglected as my test runs rarely get this far south...)
Auto-move to landscape feature re-worked. Last version was prone to loops and getting stuck. You can now also press ESCAPE to cancel auto-move.
You can now hold down the mouse button or forwards key to keep moving.
Some icons re-done
Glory points have been recalibrated. Completing an Ambition early used to mean you could get 3 Glory rewards in a row...
Lots of work on enemy AI. You may notice wolves will start to try and surround you, elves will fire and fade, zombies will protect their dark masters.... Lots more to do on this.

Will be looking at character progression. I want all the mid level professions (Levels 5-10) to feel unique and worthwhile, and all the high level professions (10+) to have their own unique skill.
Will be going through each encounter type to ensure it is interesting and different and fair.

This week, we added more content in Citywars Survivors:
-New enemies such as minotaurs, the demon prince, mimic chests, skeleton knights. -Revisited enemies such as gargoyles that now have a different behavior, with carnivore plants replacing the previous gargoyles. -New weapons and spells to try out. -New Knight, Cleric and Bombardier classes. -New damage and range upgrades.

This week's challenge requires you to open 50 gold treasures laying around in the map. Watch out for hiding mimics scattered around. Each golden treasure found contributes in this week's challenge progression.
How it works: Unlock the Weekly Challenge table in the Star Milestone. Place it whenever you start a map and it will record your challenge progress while you play. You need to place it every time you start a map for it to record. Watch your numbers grow and make sure to complete the target score before Friday.
After the release of the 0.3 early access version, we received a lot of feedback from the player community. Thank you all for your support. We will continue to develop The Emperor and State based on the feedback to provide a better gaming experience.
The Emperor and State has now been updated to version 0.302, mainly fixing some known issues.
Bug Fixes
Fixed a bug when deposing the empress in some cases.
Fixed a bug where the personnel on the expedition might be assigned tasks again.
Fixed the bug where the portrait of the imperial concubine was displayed as a white image.
Fixed the bug where the description of combat power was inconsistent when creating a new army and reorganizing it.
Fixed the bug where an error would be reported at the end of the round when the capital was captured when there were only two states left. Error code: Dd5
Improvings
Completed the descriptions of some alchemy materials, completed the help descriptions of provincial capitals, and adjusted some copy.
Improved the font of the quarterly report in Traditional Chinese.
Added the "Inquire about Life Span" function in the secret room. You can use half a round of life expectancy to inquire about the pregnancy rate of each imperial concubine.
Updated and optimized some portraits of imperial concubines.

Another good news: Dead Age 2 will finally be released for modern consoles (PS5 and Xbox Series S/X). The date is August 8th and last news we had a Dead Age 2 update for the Italian language,
For readers who didn't catch the last news, here it is again: As a designer, It was a horror time last year for me (with 4 diseases at the same time!) and the lost of several devs because of financial problems, but now i can develop fulltime on Dead Age: Survivors with currently 50% Status together with Simone, a new italien programmer, Sandro (my best friend and a good artist) and a few part time programmers as fully independent Silent Dreams 2.0.
It will take more time because we work private indie style, so don't get impatient summer 2025 a demo. Dead Age Survivors should be released in 2026.

But it actually has some advantages in that I have more time for the latest Dead Age, because time limits are always crap for game development.
I have more time for quests and events, can tell a really cool story of blackmail, kidnapping and faction fights, where the zombies of course also have an important role.
I have time for new quests, a new faction "The Lost Ones" and events that weren't even planned!
The combat needs some improvements and we want to get that under control and have cool (small) teams of about 10 people compete against each other to conquer or defend territories. But the troop combat still has to be realized.
I play the version all the time, so the version will have only a few bugs once we go into Early Access
We will start a Kickstarter campaign before Early Access, we will then use this money to bridge the development time until release. Maybe we'll also get a few extra features, e.g. a little voice overs. ;-).
You will see, the long time is our friend to make our darned seventh RPG Dead Age: Survivors really good. We want to create the best Dead Age experience. I'm even doing without a girlfriend at the moment because the game is more important to me, if that means nothing ;-)
