Alpha 3 has arrived! Though unfortunately it doesn't contain all the features and additions we would have liked to add into Alpha 3, we've fixed a lot of bugs and improved some things for QOL! We look forward to sharing with the community some upcoming features and improvements with Alpha 3.1 in a future news post!

Added:

  • SCAR Assault Rifle

Fixes and Improvements:

  • Changed the UI - it is now more fluid and easier to navigate and use.
  • Fixed nullptr crash.
  • Fixed lighting bug with Wall Lamps
  • Clothes no longer hold any items. Inventory is now strictly held on the player.
  • Player inventory size increased to account for singular inventory storage space.

Alpha 3 is currently only available through the temp_ beta branch, due to a temporary issue with Steam (we are currently unable to publish it to the main public branch). We are working with Steam to resolve this issue ASAP!

As a result of this, Official Dedicated Servers may be delayed to the Alpha 3 update, and will be updated ASAP as well!

Hello everyone, and welcome to the Weekly Dev Log for July 16th, 2024, detailing all the changes that have happened since July 8th, 2024. Note: Devs that don't appear in the weekly log are not necessarily away or not doing work, but may be working on things currently not announced or backend work that doesn't need to be detailed.

Kalleira Plushie and Pins



Since you guys are awesome and funded our previous campaigns, we were able to start two Makeship campaigns on June 28th!

Sabrina worked on setting up a new guide website.

Johanna finished working on the Plaza optimizations.

Lifeless worked on the Minigolf map, "Dino Drive", as well as some screens for the Game Worlds Ports.

macdguy worked on finishing the Minigolf Map Maker, finished the Unit approval tag for Workshop Maps, worked on a Live Surface Previewer, worked on the new guide website (Minigolf Map Maker guide), and the VR menu and VR IK arms.

Nuclearxpotato continued working on the Minigolf map, "Dino Drive".

Sketchman worked on bug and crash fixes.

Wheezwer worked on Makeship marketing and helping with the guide website.

Will continued working on music for SDNL.

Condo: Live Surface Preview

Now when you hover over a surface, it'll update the in-game surface as you hover allowing you to preview it live (works with your color settings as well).



Minigolf: Dino Drive Prop

A souvenir shack with some Dino Drive accessories. The accessories are unlocked with the usual Minigolf map-specific achievements (Played, Mastered, etc).

The shack has the same scale as the other Booth-style condo items and will be available as an item.



Game Worlds Ports: In-Progress Board

A new board that will show you all currently in-progress games across all game worlds, allowing you to quickly jump in an active game.

Servers are coming down at 6AM PT / 3PM CEST tomorrow for a hotfix that will address the following below. Estimated downtime may be up to 3 hours.

Sunderer Update Follow Up
We are happy to see players explore the new modules added to the Sunderer this week. We've been reading your feedback across social media, the forums, reddit, discord, steam, youtube and twitch. We agree with the census that the Sunderer could use some rebalancing. We are working on an update that will hopefully make proper balance adjustments to the Sunderer's capabilities. We'll post more information about that update later.

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed an audio bug where audio is faint or disappears when changing camera view when firing the following weapons:
  • M20 Basilisk,
  • G40 Ranger,
  • CT-102 Satyr
  • M20 Drake
  • M202 Wyrm
  • M18 Palisade
  • A30 Walker
  • Lightning Skyguard
  • Sunderer cargo units will no longer remove ownership of the Sunderer itself from the player.
  • Sunderer Ammo Tower cargo unit now has the correct cooldown in the descriptions for each tier on its cert tree.
  • Fixed Sunderer's Deploy Dome to allow its top mounted weapons to not collide with the shield.
Known Issues:
  • Some players may have purchased the "Directive Bundle: Tides of Summer 2023" from the members only section. The icon for this bundle wasn't ready and was accidentally sent live. Although everything else in the bundle was correct (and for those who have purchased it, yes you may keep it!) However since the cat is out of the bag, we plan on making previous Event Directive rewards available to purchase with Daybreak Cash (Account wide purchase) or A7 (character only purchase) if you are a Daybreak Member. We weren't planning to go live with this until later this year as we have been heavily focused (art wise especially) on upcoming content, rewards, and Depot items.
  • We have seen feedback regarding Member Only Bundles and that players would like to preview them before considering purchasing a membership (totally understandable!). In a future patch we will make previewing available to all players (we just have to get it all through QA first).

Changes for v1.1.1:

- You can now destroy almost all pickups with your welder, to reduce the possibility of blocking yourself. Exceptions are quest items like lost bags and waste barrels, as well as anything required for the critical path (such as the fuel and Miraclium during the tutorial)
- Destroying a crate will abort your current delivery mission (with the usual credit deduction)
- Destroying fuel (in either raw or refined forms) will cause an explosion that hurts you and damages your ship (just for fun)

- You can no longer sell waste barrels from an upgraded refinery (or anything else with a credit value of zero)
- Fixed Hole's introduction bugging out Red Weed distress missions
- Fixed Red's introduction causing a crash if you return to your ship midway through disposing of barrels
- Fixed crash caused when a romanced Red tries to talk to you in certain circumstances
- Fixed formatting in console exhibits menus
- Fixed upgrades not resetting in post-post-game
