New temperate biome has been added for higher altitude areas. The weather's getting chillier!
This biome contains coniferous trees, mountain grass, clovers and shrubs. The vegetation is also less dense, a stark contrast to the lush tropical rainforest at lower altitudes.
There will be more biomes added later. Snow, desert, lava and etc. It's a really lively world full of variety!
The game now hides shortcut info when on Deck, in accordance with Valve's requirements for Deck compatibility. Also, if you are on Linux and the game incorrectly thinks it's on Deck, you can disable Deck support by adding the following line to vmArgs in config.json: "-Ddeck=false" (don't forget to add a comma after the previous line).
While waiting for Chapter Two to be releasable, I decided to push some of the new updates 2 weeks ago. These included features such as dialogue portraits and brightness settings.

Delays With Chapter Two
I blinked and it was the middle of July.
If you’re reading this part of the DevLog update, then I can tell you’re just as keen to see Chapter Two as I am to release it.
I believe I might have mentioned this before, but being new to running a studio has been one hell of a learning curve and is eating up more time than I thought it would. In the future, there are many things I would approach differently or implement sooner to mitigate risks. But for now, I’m doing the best that I can to manage a lot of different tasks that I’ve never needed to consider before - such as the major admin side of running a studio.
I’ve been considering releasing an early beta version of Chapter Two, which is still missing some of the minor elements, but it would still give players the vast majority of the chapter. Then, I can release the other elements in some minor updates. I feel as the game is still in Early Access, this could be an effective way to not only show that the game is being worked on, but also give you, the players, the chance to let us know if something feels off, or if you are concerned about elements of the story. You could even tell us if you like the direction the story is taking.
The Latest News Updates
In a previous announcement, I mentioned doing Twitch streaming every Sunday (my time). For the last couple of weeks, I haven’t been able to stream dev work, and I hope to pick things up again very soon, once I’ve got a lot of the admin side of things back on track.
In this devlog I'd like to show you the next progress of the work. Let's start with the fact that we have a game menu! In the following screenshot you can see how it looks :)
We have introduced the first player assists in the form of tutorials. When a player does an action for the first time, he will receive a description of it at the bottom of the screen and an explanation of which buttons to use :D
Quest markers in the game world have also been added. When a player receives a quest to complete it will be visible as an exclamation mark in the game world :D
From now on we will also display a list of quests on the right side of the screen and a percentage progress bar for completed activities, we can see this in the gif below:
Also, slowly more and more sounds are appearing in the game. You can see a sample of the initial sounds in the video below (they may change as the game develops):
That's all in this devlog. Don't forget to visit our discord and until next time! 😄
