Notes
  • We watched some streamers play the game, and felt that our way of communicating objectives was a bit too weak, so we've made some changes to make everything more clear. We felt that by keeping the game open ended, it would incentivise exploration, but instead people felt aimless. Finding the right boundary between letting the player explore, and giving them guidance was a bit hard to find. Also, instead of hiding essential gameplay mechanics, they should be given to the player, and more optional mechanics/items can be more hidden.

For those who may not have been following on our discord, I am happy to report that the games have resumed. We recently wrapped up a week long game session without any issue, and another one is currently in progress.

The issue was likely caused by several simultaneous bugs introduced in the cloud services and infrastructure we use, but these have been resolved. To be safe, we've added some extra logging and monitoring to react more quickly if anything similar happens again.

Dear rulers and aspirants,

Unfortunately, it appears that with the latest update or the configuration changes executed simultaneously, we have caused a significant problem on the server, which has led to issues with the stability of game sessions. As a result, I need to suspend game launches for hopefully just a few days to investigate and resolve the issue.

I apologize for the inconvenience and I understand this is a disservice to our players - to you - but unfortunately, such accidents, and that it takes some time to realize and resolve these issues, are part of part-time indie game development and the pre-early access state. Fortunately, this is the first such instance since our Steam debut, and I don't intend to make a habit of it.

Therefore, I kindly ask for your understanding in this situation. We'll try to be as quick with a solution as possible.

As soon as it is over, alerts for new game sessions will be posted on our community discord.

  • Gunsmith System: Modify firearm attributes by changing attachments at the workbench and apply stickers for special abilities and skills.


  • Day-Night Cycle System: The environment will switch between day and night as time passes.


  • AI Vertical Movement: AI enemies can move vertically within a certain height range by jumping, allowing them to reach places like rooftops or low buildings.


  • Evacuation System: Use a walkie-talkie to request evacuation. Board the helicopter within the specified time to ensure successful evacuation and return to the hideout; otherwise, wait a period before requesting evacuation again.

ZEPHON - Rok
The last ninth playable demo of ZEPHON will be available from July 18th (@ 12 pm CEST) to July 29th (@ 12 pm CEST) on Steam.

There are no big changes in this demo—it's meant for one final round of testing and feedback before release.

This is an early look at an in-development alpha version of the game. As such, there will be bugs, imbalances and missing assets.

The demo includes single player and multiplayer, but is limited to up to four players on a medium-sized map. 5 different leaders are available for selection and 3 NPC factions are present. Research progress is limited to the first 6 tech tiers.

The full version will contain larger maps, advanced game setup options, 8 leaders, over 50 units spread across 10 tiers of research, more terrain features and quests, an end-game grand finale, unlockable game modifiers, achievements, multiple languages as well as full workshop support.

QoL:
  • Hotkeys! Tabs and the most used windows can now be accessed with hotkeys, which can be rebound in the Settings.
  • Hovering health and mana bars to show regeneration will now take into account Accelerated Healing and Channel.

Bugfixes:
  • Grasping Shades's immunity ability now works offline.
  • Consume will no longer stop working on all enemies when dispelled off of one.
  • Offline reagent gains will no longer be negated when they are above 2.2 Billion.
  • Unused card reward save slots will now be hidden.
  • Being killed by a multihit ability in Arena will no longer prevent you from healing to full and being returned to the "battle select" prompt.
  • Being killed by poison for the purpose of calculating offline gains will no longer prevent offline gains and prediction from working.
  • Squire Wriggles's passive now has the same percentage healing across Ascensions.

- Identified an issue with the 3x Guardian / Assault / Specialist achievements not being triggered upon completing a run whilst meeting the crew composition requirements. This will be fixed in the next hotfix.

Bug Fixes

- Implements another fix for players still having trouble targeting Malevolence (versions A and B) with cards and abilities in Phase 4 of that encounter.
- Fixes some unintended combat behaviour with effects that trigger on attack, e.g. Datasucker and Renegade's Pacemaker mod.
- Fixes a bug where Rook's Ingenuity mod would cost no AP to activate.
- Fixes the tooltip on Paladin's Magnetic Shot talent, which previously incorrectly referred to "Ambuscade".

Previously, we have told you about migraines and shown you what the visual effect looks like. However, our testers and many of you noticed that Chris's animation does not change during an episode. The feedback was more than fair, and our artist immediately set out to correct this oversight.

So today, we decided to show you what Chris's walking animation will look like during a migraine episode. This is just a render for now, but the team is already working on implementing it into the engine.

The development process continues as we make the final adjustments and prepare a demo version for you. But soon, we will have another surprise for you, which we think you will see very soon, possibly as early as next weekend. And here's another quote that you will find in the game:
