Breachway - Matt (Hooded Horse)
Hi friends,

We’re excited to announce that Breachway is finally ready for its Early Access launch, scheduled for August 30th.

While this is a month later than we initially planned, and we apologize for the delay, rest assured that the extra time has has gone into adding more content, bug-fixing and polishing everything up. (It also allowed us to add things that are just plain cool, like having battle damage persist between fights until repaired at a hangar.)

What’s Coming in Early Access?
  • 4 playable ships, each with its own flavor and play-style.
    Start your journey with the versatile Arbalest, and later unlock the aggressive no-holds-barred Marauder, the precise Railgun-wielding Lancer, and something to bring the heat to both yourself and (especially) your enemies, the Firebrand.
  • Multiple equipment classes: pulse lasers, beam weapons, heavy blasters, missiles, flak, railguns, hacking, point defense cannons, shields, engineering bays, and resource bays. Customization is key, with dozens of modules and subsystems available to tailor your ship.
  • Explore and utilize space stations for repairs, stores, and events. Build your strategy with a vast collection of cards, and navigate the complex politics of four fully fleshed-out factions, each with their events and allegiances.
  • The fuel system will challenge you to navigate difficult-to-reach areas while events and missions add depth to your adventure.
  • Manage your crew, each with their combat abilities, specialization, and the power to influence events, creating a rich tapestry of gameplay experiences.
  • Unlock new permanent bonuses, modules, and (eventually) ship variants as you progress. With (currently) two regions packed with unique events, enemies, and bosses, there’s plenty of space for exploration, customization and conquest.

Community Involvement and why we chose Early Access
We've tried to create a game that goes beyond a typical deck-builder, and fully embraces its space theme and setting.

So far our focus was on implementing the core elements of a solid entry into the deck-building genre, and your response to our work has been more than we could have hoped for. However, there's still a lot of untapped potential in our design.

We've laid the groundwork for various features such as different factions and how your standing with them unlocks new events or changes interaction options with existing ones, a crew ability and morale system, crew levels, missions, special events that can trigger in combat and lead to different outcomes and rewards, items you can trade and use in various ways in events, and much more.

Exploring all of these systems with your involvement will open up possibilities we wouldn't have considered on our own, and harnessing the creativity and feedback of our players as we develop the game further will not only make the journey more enjoyable, but ultimately result in a better game.

Update 1.0.10 is released! Here are the notes:

Improvements:

- Special attacks using sequences of directional input, stance, and attack
- Potential rating change are now displayed in the character selection screen and during duels.

Fixed:


- Returning players in the duel selection screen can now change character, weapon, or confirm
- Game no longer crashes when spamming Duel History
- Feint tutorial now mentions the cooldown period
- Players can no longer miss rolling opponents with Chokuto's MID vertical

It's Byte Barrel here with a brand-new DevLog. Lately, we've been extremely busy working on content for the second major update from Forgive Me Father 2’s roadmap, and we have some exciting things to show you. Today, we’ve prepared a little teaser featuring a few goodies that will be available in the near future. Excited? We are!

First up, we have an enigmatic screenshot from one of the new levels where you will face eternal evil once again. We'll definitely share more details about what you can expect from this mysterious location soon, but for now, take a closer look at its visual and thematic elements.

Saloon Simulator - glivigamessa
Dear Saloon Managers,

I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of you for participating in the playtests, playing our prologue, and sharing your feedback on Steam and Discord. We have read all your comments, and now more than ever, we understand the direction our game should take. We also appreciate all the bug reports and ideas, which we are currently discussing in our weekly brainstorming sessions. Our last month has been spent fixing bugs in the prologue and planning the upcoming months of work. Despite this focus on planning and bug fixing, we have managed to implement an entirely new mechanic - train unloading. We've also been working on increasing the variety of clothing for our customers and continue to develop new quests that will await you in Blueberry.

New Mechanic - Train Unloading
With the arrival of Postmaster Peabody in town, you will be able to take on a special mini-quest that unlocks periodically. When a freight train stops at the station, you will need to locate the appropriate crates in its cars and unload them within a limited time. If you manage to unload everything, Peabody will arrange for the next passenger train to make an emergency stop, filling your saloon with visitors for the next few minutes.


New Clothes for Customers
As trains stop more frequently in Blueberry, newcomers from the city will start appearing in town. Their higher social status will be evident from their well-kept and clean attire. Over time, as the town grows, residents will adopt a similar style. Right now, we have only male customers, but our 3D artists are already working on creating female customers, and we will showcase their work soon.


Continuing the Story
In Blueberry, there will always be work to do and mysteries to uncover. Shortly after the events of the prologue, new characters will appear in town - carpenter Addie and Postmaster Peabody, who will oversee Mr. Lock's interests in the town. One of the first quests you will undertake in the next part of the game is helping Sam find the "stolen" parts of his gold sifting machine. Once the machine is up and running, you will see for yourself if there is a nugget of truth in Sam's tales.

Cattle Country - Playtonic Steve
Howdy folks!

Two days ago we opened up signups for the Cattle Country closed beta and we've been absolutely blown away by the response so far! We've seen over twice as many signups than we initially predicted. The Castle Pixel team and ourselves at Playtonic are incredibly chuffed to see so many folks who're keen to try the beta and help us shape Cattle Country into the best game it can be!

With this being said, we're going to keep signups open until Monday the 15th of July to ensure that when we can collate and act upon your feedback to the best of our ability.

Fisher's Idle - Raay
Hey guys,
some players reported that they have problems with the save file. Since I don't really know whats the reason for it, I added some functions that make it more reliable.
The screen is now frozen for 3 seconds after hitting "saving", and another button was added for saving & quitting. The old quit button did the same, but it did not always work (I'm really sorry for that, it should not happen anymore).
The game saves now the old save file as a backup, you can load that in the main menu if you have problems with the save.
Thanks a lot to Finstermoor, he really helped me with the saving problem and getting behind it.

AutoSave has been adjusted too, I fixed some graphic bugs and changed some values.
Also the capacity upgrade works now like intended, thanks to Colios for the report.

If anything is not working like it should, please report it to me so I can fix it :)
