Astrometica - BeryMery
Hey everyone,

We've made great progress this month! We have a new team member who is creating original soundtracks and sound effects for our game.

Now, let's talk about our release date. We know you're excited to play Astrometica as soon as possible, and we appreciate your patience. Our team is committed to releasing the game in the best possible version. We're currently working hard and adding as much content as we can. Our target release quarter was Q3, but we want to ensure everything works perfectly, so we might need a bit more time.

Speaking of progress, here's what we've accomplished last month:

Animation Improvements:

We've revamped all the animations and created new ones. Check out some videos:

New Sound Effects:

Our sound designer has crafted some amazing sound effects. Here are a few samples:

New Tool:

Introducing the new Hook Tool. Here's a short video showcasing it:

New Character Model:

We've added new suits to the game, each providing unique advantages:

New Research System:

We've enhanced our progression systems, making your journey in the game smoother. With the new research stations, you'll earn research points, which will automatically unlock new blueprints.

New Satellite System:

Alongside the research stations, we've introduced satellites. Building these will help you discover new explorable places, structures, stories, and signals.

Base Color Customization Improvements:

You can now change the colors of different base categories separately, including the floor, exterior, and interior:

Interior Base Building Parts Improvements:

Last month, we showed you the exterior remakes of the habitat parts. This month, we've focused on the interiors. Here are some screenshots:

And much more that we don't want to spoil just yet. We hope you enjoy our development progress over the last month.

July 31st is the big day! After many years of development we'll be launching into Early Access :)

We plan on being in early access for about 9 months so we can finalize content and use community feedback to make the game better. We'll also be offering a launch discount on release.

Stay tuned for more updates and we welcome any questions or comments :)

Diesel The Pug Warrior - 2BrosInACup
In Update 1.4, you can actually see visually what item you have equipped by looking at Diesel! This update also includes minor updates to battles to make it more engaging and fun. Minor updates to the game as a whole have been made too.

-Updates:

-Battle:
- If you have Critical hit unlocked, it is guaranteed to happen within the percentage. Example if you have 20% Critical hit it will happen within the next 5 turns
- Diesel now walks into the battle scene and out
- Can't equip items in battle or in major cutscenes
- Diesel wears item costumes in battle
- New Mental attack where you have to avoid fireballs
- Hair dryer now only does fireball mental attack
- The Goofy Mental Attack where you dodge Mental Diesels has been removed

-Other Updates:
- Diesel now can wear item costumes
- Diesel and Fred have an updated title screen movement code
- New boot splash for when the game is loading up

Other small things included. Thank you for playing the game. We really do appreciate all of you guys playing the game. We don't know if the game will be coming to other platforms like Mac or Steam Deck.

Brigand: Oaxaca - brianlancaster45
Seven years ago today Brigand released in an unplayable state because I didn't know about Early Access (or it didn't exist yet, not sure). All games should be in early access first unless it's just a pong clone.

Sometime this weekend I'll post the user-made moon maps and a poll to decide the winner. I've already played one and it's hilarious:
https://smashzone.itch.io/lunar-legend

Done with everything I wanted to do with Brigand except the following to-do list. I'm also all ears if you have a request for a new editor or scripting feature. I'm trying to make Brigand as longevous as Neverwinter Nights 1 with its modding tools.

Brigand Plans:

-Trick anti-virus programs so they don't corrupt your save and I can remove the scary warning message when you launch the game.

-Some game messages say you take damage from random objects like a gold coin when you get struck by lightning, etc.

-Extremely rare bug fucks up inventory, but it has never happened to me. I have 4 people's saves they sent to me after it happened, but I need a save from immediately before it happens (assuming it happens consistently).

-Try porting code from DarkBASIC to Godot after I'm done with Warlordocracy.
Anger Foot - hyphenza
In case you're new to the party: Anger Foot is a single-player first-person "booter" about kicking down doors, kicking in faces, and collecting kickass sneakers.

Something smells in Shit City ...and it ain't the feet!
Lace-up a capricious collection of formidable footwear to fight through a diverse series of deranged city districts.

The road to launch was an exceptionally fun one for us. We poured our hearts, souls, and skeletons into making this world come to life.

Starting as a simple shooter game made as a Seven Day FPS [7dfps] jam prototype, Anger Foot grew into a game that we're incredibly proud of.

We hope you enjoy playing it as much as we did making it.

P.S. Just before launch, Anger Foot took his kicking door and bad attitude to the British seaside this week to fight seagulls and win the hearts of Develop attendees. See how it went below.

P.P.S. While you're waiting for it to download, why don't you prepare your feet for action by taking a glance at the game manual available on the right-hand side in your Steam library?

We couldn't have made it this far without your support and input.
Join our community on Discord to share your experiences, give feedback, and stay updated on all things Anger Foot.

Cyclopean: The Great Abyss - MKSchmidt
I've uploaded a playable, but incomplete version of the game for testing purposes.

If you have the beta key, you may choose to try it out. If you are interested in trying it, but don't have the key, visit my Discord server and ask about it there... https://discord.gg/EV7gZHhd

In this version (0.4.1) you can explore the game's overworld and 5 dungeons. The dungeons are all roughly the same procedurally generated setup, just like we saw in the Game Jam version. However, each dungeon should be saved between visits and should have a different kind or assortment of monsters within.

Most of the game mechanics are things you can learn and experiment with in-game. You will use WASD movement and the mouse to select from menus. The only thing not obvious will be using F5 to open the save game menu. You need to hit Enter to save once you've selected a slot.

Each encounter will give you a variety of options, combat, stealth and dialogue. Learning how and when and where to use each will change depending on your alliances and gameplay strategy. Each move will (usually) require a "roll" against your character's appropriate stat. i.e. attacking checks against your character's "skill" and the damage will be modified by their "strength."

Combat
follows pretty standard CRPG gameplay. However you have the option of finding allies and incorporating them into your party.

Allies can be used to fight against enemies by using the Marshal command in the combat menu. Allies can gain experience and level up just like your character, but in a limited capacity. The number of allies you can have is dependent on your character's "mind" stat.

Attack and flee are pretty self explanatory.

Yield is when you've tried everything and are willing to give up some items, allies and/or captives to escape with your life. Use it only as a last resort.

Stealth
allows you to ambush, pilfer your enemies inventory, sneak around and capture your enemy. Although captives don't actually do anything special just yet. Sneaking will depend on your "skill" stat.

Dialogue
is where you will be able to align with new party members, trade, inquire and, when finished, pass by an allied creature.

In order to gain an alliance you will need to find and successfully read a book about that type of creature. When rolling your character's stats, you may also start off with an alliance in place, though not always. Reading books is dependent on your "mind" stat.

Doors
can be locked or unlocked. If you have the right kind of key, you can simply unlock them. Or if you have a lockpick and sufficient "skill" and "mind" you can try to pick the lock. Alternatively, for a stronger character, you may choose to bash it, but failing may cause you some damage.

Feedback
is very much welcome at this stage. I am not sure how all these game mechanics will be used by players, or if they are remotely balanced right now.

Features
I am planning to add next include:
1. More monsters
2. Levels for treasure chests (right now they are totally random)
3. Camping to gain health and set your fleeing location outside
4. Choosing which attributes to increase on level gain
5. Saving the state of the overworld
6. Different kinds of dungeons for each area
