Content Improvements
- Added the 'Start Public Operation' function (matchmaking) to Infiltration Operations (Hard). 'Start Public Operation' is available even if you change the selected reward, but if you select an additional option, only 'Start Private Operation' will be available.
- Removed the sequential type Immunity Spheres from Named Monsters. They have been changed to either the default or extermination types.

# Director's Comment
The Dev Team acknowledges the community's concern about the monotonous patterns of Named Monsters and strives to enhance them.
In particular, we've noted that the pattern involving breaking spheres in a specific order isn't appropriate for public matching and have decided to remove it immediately.
As new patterns are developed, we will soon update the patterns of existing Named Monsters one by one.
As Named Monsters frequently appear in Hard difficulty and Special Operations, we will continue working towards diversifying their patterns.
- Increased the quantity of rare basic materials dropped from Encrypted Vaults three-fold. The Elite Vulgus that appear in Field Missions and Infiltration Operations will now drop them too.
# Director's Comment
The most efficient way to farm rare basic materials is still through Encrypted Vaults, but for those who prefer hunting monsters, we have updated Field Missions and Infiltration Operations to drop these materials too.
The Dev Team will closely monitor the overall farming status and do our best to create a joyful environment for all our Descendants.
- Reduced the time from two 90-second to two 60-second occupations for the Kingston 'Vulgus Data Transmitter' Hacking Mission.
- Improved the Battle Pass Battle Supply Shop button's visibility by redesigning it in the format of the Bonus Shop banner.
# Director's Comment
You can get season-limited skins for free from the Battle Supply Shop. Complete pre-season challenges to claim your special skins!
- Updated the Library window from closing when the map is opened and closed through the Acquisition Information pop-up.
- Improved the duration of party invitation messages to make them easier to confirm and accept.
- Improved the duration of the Descendant Instructor's lines.
# Director's Comment
Many Descendants have commented that the Descendant Instructor's dialogue contains many useful game tips.
Currently, it's not possible to revisit previous dialogues, but we are planning to fix this.
We will continue to make improvements so that Descendants can easily access the information they require.
- Moved the guide NPC you meet after first arriving in Albion closer.

Optimization Improvements
- [PC] Improved the stability of the shader preparation process by reducing the CPU load during shader generation.
Currently, we are actively monitoring this issue, and if you encounter issues with a 13th or 14th gen Intel, please refer to Intel's official guide.
- [PC] Lowered GPU memory usage when set at High or higher quality.
- [PC] Fixed an issue where character skins were displayed abnormally in low graphics settings intermittently during extended play.
- [PC] Fixed a bug that allowed frame limits to be set when using Nvidia and AMD's Frame Generation.
- [Common] Fixed an issue where shadows were intermittently displayed abnormally depending on the view.
- [Common] Made various other fixes for optimization purposes, and we will continuously monitor them.

Bug Fixes
(1) UI/UX
- Fixed an issue displaying unused items in the Library.

(2) Descendants
- Fixed an issue where Descendants could not get out of DBNO when their HP was below -100% from module settings.
- Fixed an issue where Kyle would occasionally go up into the air when using 'Superconductivity Thrusters' during 'Repulsion Dash'.
- Fixed an issue where Esiemo could not get back up while using 'Arche Explosion' and being inflicted with Knockback.

(3) Modules
- Fixed an issue where the increase in Firearm ATK per stack in the 'Sharp Precision Shot' module was summed instead of multiplied.

(4) Equipment
- Fixed an issue where a weapon's attribute damage did not apply damage over 100,000.
- Fixed an issue where higher values were displayed as the Ultimate (Gold) option despite the Reactor's Skill Cooldown and Skill Cost stats being preferable with lower values.
- Fixed an issue where lower values were displayed as the Ultimate (Gold) option despite the Weapon Change Speed stat being preferable with higher values.

(5) Field
- Fixed an issue where 'Amorphous Material Pattern: 118' and 'Shape Stabilizer Form 8' were not dropped at 'Frozen Valley: Vulgus Strategic Outpost' in Fortress (Hard).
- Fixed an issue where Elite Vulgus in the White-night Gulch 'Upper Hatchery' Battlefield Missions did not drop rewards.
- Fixed an issue where monster spawning was interrupted at some Vulgus Strategic Outposts.

(6) Instance Dungeon
- Fixed an issue where Vespers resource box materials were dropped from Echo Swamp, Agna Desert, White-night Gulch, Hagios, and Fortress Infiltration Operation resource boxes.

(7) Research
- Fixed an issue where the core materials of Ultimate Descendants were incorrectly displayed as Rare instead of Ultimate Tier.

(8) Miscellaneous
- [French] Fixed an issue where the 'Go to title screen' menu was displayed with the same phrase as 'Exit Game'.
- [French] Fixed an issue in the story where 'Ultimate Chimera' was used for 'Dreadful Abomination'.
- [French] Added missing words in the probability display for Executioner Tier 3 Set 4.

# Director's Additional Comment
It has come to our attention that the community is worried about possible nerfs to Tamer and Gley's infinite magazine builds.
This meta is very strong, but since it is within the scope of what the Dev Team has planned, there are no immediate plans to do so.
In addition, some weapons are more powerful than Tamer and there are a variety of character builds that rival Gley's infinite magazine, so please enjoy them fully. We've been looking forward to seeing Descendants use creative builds to take down powerful Colossi swiftly, so we're quite delighted to see this in action now.

We are well aware that as many Descendants begin farming in earnest, various discussions are taking place regarding drop rates. There is no variable drop rate system in The First Descendant. We are using the fixed rates displayed in the game. The Dev Team has reviewed the acquisition rates across all servers and confirmed that they are dropping according to the rates displayed. We are currently working on various measures to ensure the community can trust the dev team such as disclosing item drop amounts for each content. And we also prepare ways to improve the farming experience. The First Descendant will continue to communicate transparently and honestly.

Panzer Corps 2 - Death
Hi Generals,

As we recently revealed here, today we are celebrating the 13th anniversary since the launch of the first Panzer Corps game. Join our Twitch channel at 5:30pm CEST for an event dedicated to the Panzer Corps franchise.

We will showcase never-before-seen screenshots, gameplay footage, and an exclusive interview with our developers, where we’ll discuss the future of the game and share some exciting news.

As part of the celebration, we will have two guests of honor: Mattia Pastorino, Game Designer and co-founder of Volcanite Games, and Bernd Brosing, Slitherine's Game Designer. They will guide us through the new Frontlines series and explain their plans for the next DLCs.

Mattia and the Volcanite Games team have recently been working on a DLC that will be part of the Frontlines series focused on Operation E and Operation Compass. They are collaborating closely with the Slitherine team to ensure smooth integration of the DLC into the series. Meanwhile, Bernd and the internal Slitherine team are working on another DLC for Frontlines, which will focus more on the Siegfried Line.

We have planned many activities to properly celebrate this day. Here is a brief recap:

PANZER CORPS DAY SPECIAL TOURNAMENTS
As part of the celebration, we are pleased to announce the Clash of Streamers, an invitational knockout tournament on Panzer Corps 2.

Bug River
September 15, 1939, the 3rd Army is tasked to execute double pincer envelopment to prevent the retreat of Polish forces and formation of a new defence line.

Kasserine
In February 1943 Allied and Axis forces clash at the Kasserine Pass in the Atlas Mountains in Tunisia. For the US Army it is the first major confrontation with substantial German armored forces, which aim to inflict heavy losses on the Americans.

Barbarossa
On June 22, 1941 Germany launches an all-out invasion of the Soviet Union. Three main Army Groups push eastwards in the hope for another round of easy Blitz victories, while the Red Army seeks to slow down the German war machine wherever it can.

The tournament will last 3 rounds, each 15 days long. Games are paired, so each matchup will be played both ways. All you need to do is sign up, then the system will pair you with opponents and create your PBEM games. You will be notified by mail of when the tournament is starting and when it will be time to play your turns.

The Last Spell - Zedd Ishtar
Hello Heroes!

In today's update we are only bringing bug fixing to the game, which includes a permanent fix for the Steam Deck issue! We worked hard on this one and you should not experience any more trouble regarding the controller on this platform.

You'll find the full bug fixing details below.

In this update we are also adding in-game analytics to gather statistics that will provide us a deeper understanding about how you are winning, losing and enjoying The Last Spell.

Since the game's launch in 2021, we've relied solely on your written feedback and while we love to read all of your comments, it is sometimes not precise enough for an optimal balancing. With these new game analytics we will get raw data to dissect & study, allowing us to make more informed decisions for future updates and in the end, better improve The Last Spell.

These game analytics will be anonymous and include: how many gold & materials you generate throughout your run, what's your kill rate per skill per weapon, which wave did you fail the most for each map, etc...

If you're uncomfortable about the game analytics, you can turn it off at any moment in the Settings of The Last Spell under the "Other" tab.

Bug fix
  • Fixed an issue where the perk Bodycount Contest didn't give the correct amount of XP when playing with the "Omen of Weakened Hordes" in Boundless mode, or in Apocalypse II or higher
  • Fixed an issue where a character with the One-Armed trait could equip two-handed weapons after unlocking the Specialist perk
  • Fixed an issue where the perks Warcry and Heart of the Party did not apply to heroes positioned in a watchtower
  • Buff of Shower of Blows perk resets every turn but tooltip didn't mentioned it. It doesn't reset every turn anymore
  • Fixed an issue where Warshield perk was not decrementing after using warshield skills
  • Adjusted the camera zoom to prevent excessively deep zooming on barks on the Steam Deck and PC low resolutions and to improve readability
  • Fixed an issue where the tavern didn't update the roster of heroes when it was rebuilt after being destroyed. Also, fixed an issue where the tavern didn't generates a roster of heroes taking into account your current heroes' levels.
  • "Controller bug" on Steam Deck is now permanently fixed, previous fix was still unstable
  • Resolved an issue where Momentum tooltips would persist on screen if the player changed characters using shortcuts
  • Added the missing dwarf head icon next to the name of scrolls from the DLC
  • Fixed a localization issue causing incorrect night rewards display on Runenberg. Other night victories throughout the Runenberg run didn't match the night won by the player
  • Fixed a localization issue, in french a <nbsp> tag was displayed on the saved message
  • Fixed a bug where disabling DLC after starting it without unlocking Dwarves/Runenberg in the Oraculum caused a soft lock due to the game still attempting validation of these meta upgrades
  • Fixed an UI issue where the isolation attribute is sometimes not displayed in the damage calculation
  • Fixed an issue where the Overheat perk was no longer displayed when the user switches a cannon with another weapon between two weapons slots
  • Fixed an incorrect display of Mana/Health Cost for Items with Blood Magic perk
  • Fixed an issue where Geo reservoir's bonus range is not updated when a "Skill range" bonus is applied from another perk

Hello, Overlords!

Changes to the weekly events are incoming! As you probably know, old events were meant to give our players the opportunity to obtain skins for battle girls. But considering new equipment for your characters and its importance, which should increase with future updates, we've decided that they would be a great instrument to help our players dress up their girls and get some powerful characters.

When the new weekly events are out, with each of them, you'll be able to collect a heroic battle girl and a full set of equipment for her by daily login and quests. There's also other juicy rewards, like a bunch of crystals and resources needed for upgrading your girls.

New quests are made this way that most of them will be completed seamlessly, while you're playing the game.

There are also some economy changes - we've decided to get rid of the weekly event's summon. Instead, there will be a new Epic summon with all core-game girls and much higher chances to get an epic character and the same chance to get a heroic one.

The Sacred runes will be removed from the weekly event's rewards. We plan on placing them as rewards for one of the game's modes in the future updates. In the meantime, they will still be available at the in-game shop.

We'll also think about how to distribute skins for battle girls and implement a new system in the future.

War Robots: Frontiers - Kaeden
Eyes up, Pilots! The Summer Update has launched, and while we're thrilled to bring you a new slate of content, we’ve also noticed some issues we want to address. 
  • Robot Building: We’re aware that some players had problems rebuilding their Garages. We’ve also received feedback that the current UI setup feels confusing. We take your comments regarding UI changes very seriously. The goal was to make Robot management easier for new players and encourage them to experiment with their own Builds. We know that players are used to clicking on a Robot Module to go into edit mode. Now, when you click on a Module, the Module Overview mode opens. We will add a transition to editing there in a hotfix coming in the near future. 
  • Balancing: We’ve received feedback that the balancing changes feel restrictive when it comes to Build options due to the changes to Weight and Energy limits. This was not our intention and we are monitoring feedback and will provide further communications regarding this in the near future.
  • Client Crashes: We’re aware of the client crashes some players are facing and are working hard to resolve this. If you’ve experienced a client crash, please contact our Support team to help us pinpoint the problem.
On Friday July 12, we are hosting a Q&A session on Discord with members of the dev team including Zukata and Nausicaä to address your concerns at 19:00 CEST. Please join us to have your voice heard and burning questions answered.

A hotfix has now been launched (Thursday, July 11), which includes the following bug fixes and improvements:
Client Crash Fixes
  • Fixed game crashes that were triggered when quickly spawning any Robot in the Firing Range and immediately returning to the main menu.
  • Fixed game crashes that were triggered after eliminating Robot decoys created by the “Trick” ability with the weapon “Lighter”.
  • Fixed game crashes that were triggered when trying to open the Friend actions menu from Steam.
Bug Fixes & Improvements
  • Fixed a bug where players were shown the "The squad with this ID does not exist" error message when entering a squad.
  • Fixed a bug where players that have been added to the Block list disappeared from the list after restarting the game.
  • Fixed a bug where after crafting any item, when creating a new Robot in the Workshop, all categories except Chassis and Pilots disappeared from the Workshop tab menu if the Build was not saved.
  • Fixed a bug where armor debris was not displayed correctly at long distances when playing with low graphics settings.
  • Fixed a bug where Grim’s ability “Magnetic Snare” could not be correctly activated when pointing at a wall.
  • Fixed a bug where when adjusting the game brightness, the Robot icon is visible even at the minimum brightness value. 
  • Fixed a bug where the tag “New” does not disappear hovering the mouse cursor over the cards.
  • Fixed a bug where animations for the weapons “Shocktrain” and “Fowler” were triggered when the Robot spawned.
  • Fixed a bug where Factions and Classes were not shown on the Pilot’s upgrade screen.
  • Fixed a bug where the decal placement on the Torso during Robot customization was incorrect.
  • Fixed a bug where the ability effects of “Siphon Link” do not disappear immediately from the Robot that used the ability after the enemy Robot has been defeated.
  • Fixed various collision related bugs for obstacles on the Maps “Spectrum” and “Catalysts”. It should now be easier to pass through the terrain.
  • Fixed a bug where characters played jerky animations in the background of the Garage.
  • Fixed a bug where icons for Battle Tokens and Credits were stretched out in the currency conversion screen of the Battle Pass.
  • Fixed a bug where the “Decrease level” button when upgrading Robot parts was grayed out.
  • Sounds for shots with the weapon “Thunder” have been improved.
  • Fixed a bug where shooting the Crusher trigger button counts the damage towards Contracts. 
  • Fixed various localization issues.

Last time on the blog we only saw the very start of the battle represented in our upcoming free Montello map: the Second Battle of the Piave River.

Leaked Austro-Hungarian battle plans meant that the Italians were able to bombard them just before they began their assault, while they were still packed together in forward trenches. Casualties were heavy, and in places even led to the attack being cancelled or delayed. For the most part though, the Austro-Hungarian soldiers went forward and aggressively crossed the river to engage Italian positions on the other side.

They made it over the river and were able to advance 5 miles (8 km) further before the attack ran out of steam. The Austro-Hungarian commander Boroević attempted to restart the assault in the following days, but the destruction of bridges and high water levels made resupply across the river a nightmare, with some troops even drowning as they tried to cross.

On July 19th, four days after the attack began, the Italian General Diaz launched a counterattack into Boroević's flank which inflicted significant losses and further degraded their ability to attack. By the next day, Emperor Karl had taken personal command and ordered a retreat. Three days after that, the Italians finished recapturing all the lost ground on their side of the river. Italy's allies encouraged them to keep up the offensive and chase the Austro-Hungarians across the Piave, but General Diaz figured that the same supply issues that had hindered the Austro-Hungarian operations would block effective Italian attacks as well - not to mention the fact his forces were still scattered and not ready for an offensive. Instead smaller actions were taken to secure useful ground and prepare for a future offensive. Italy would be at no further risk of attack from the thoroughly exhausted Austro-Hungarian military.

Gameplay and History
As with all our maps, we've done a lot of research to recreate the battlefield while also making it a playable space with entertaining gameplay. This means making sure key landmarks and defenses are represented, but allows for some wriggle room when it comes to proportions and distances. The goal is to capture the challenges and opportunities offered by the landscape, but avoid frustration or particular objectives being too easy.

These photographs of the river helped us create a memorable starting area for the battle.

People unfamiliar with the First World War might think all trenches are much alike, but as all you veteran WW1 Series players will know, every area of every front had trenches with specific quirks. Getting trenches right for each map is a top priority.

For the next blog, we'll share a first view of the new map in motion, and for the blog after that we'll be going more in-depth about what to expect when stepping onto the Montello battlefield for the first time!
