Age of Mythology: Retold - Lady Eridani

We are excited to announce a closed beta from July 12th through the 14th for all players who have pre-ordered Age of Mythology: Retold Premium Edition. Experience the newest iteration of Age of Mythology and let us hear any feedback you might have too! Can't join us for the closed beta this weekend? Keep an eye out for more news on a future Stress Test that will be accessible to all Steam players for a limited time, without the need for a pre-order.

When:
The official Age of Mythology: Retold Closed Beta will run from Friday, July 12th through Sunday, July 14th.
  • Starts: Friday, July 12th at 10:00 AM PT (17:00 UTC)
  • Ends Sunday, July 14th at 11:59 PM PT (6:59 UTC)

What:
During the closed beta, Age of Mythology: Retold Premium Edition owners will be able to:
  • Brush up on the basics by playing the Tutorial and continue to grow your skills and experience the main campaign with the first 5 missions for the Fall of the Trident campaign.
  • Test your skills in Skirmish or Multiplayer matches in our Standard Map Pool which gives a wide variety of the maps intended for release (MP limited to 8 players for the closed beta).
  • Try out three of the four Pantheons, including Greek, Norse, and Egyptian. Call upon a host of mythological creatures and godly powers to dominate your enemies.

Why:
Our community is important to us, as is player feedback. At this stage of development, we’re interested in getting Age of Mythology: Retold into the hands of the player to:
  • Fine-tune our existing systems, World’s Edge and our development partners are counting on you to play as many matches as you’re able to while trying out the various game features available during the beta!
  • Arm our development team with impactful bugs or balance feedback. Balance is ongoing, so the unit balance you see during the closed beta isn’t necessarily reflective of what you’ll see when the game launches or as the meta evolves.
  • Share your ideas on how to best grow Age of Mythology: Retold post-launch. While our primary focus during closed beta is to ensure stability and lend overall polish to the game by conquering impactful bugs, we’re also eager to hear your thoughts. The Age of Mythology: Retold team is dedicated to continually improving and growing the game while making sure it stays true to the roots of the Age of Mythology you know and love. As a beta participant, you help guide our vision.

How:
The beta will be available to anyone who has pre-ordered the Premium Edition of Age of Mythology: Retold
  • Age Insider membership will not be required for participation.
  • The beta will not be under NDA, so feel free to capture, stream, and record your gameplay.
  • The beta is available for players who decide to pre-order the Premium Edition even after the beta has started.

Beta known issues:
  • Not all localization is present for supported game languages.
  • Cross-network play may or may not function fully.

Improvements and Additions
New unlock reward animations now appear at the end of every run for any achievement you finished.

End of run menu overhaul.
- Includes animated display of unlocked achievements and statistics from the run.

Achievement progress meters now implemented in various places for easy reference.
- Shows on currently locked jumpers in the jumper select screen
- Shows on currently locked permanent upgrades in the Upgrades menu

All permanent upgrades are now visible.
- The locked ones now have a locked icon to their left and the upgrade unit boxes are hidden.

Banishing achievement created to unlock in permanent upgrades menu
- "Reroll Roulette" - perform 100 store rerolls
- Can be purchased 3 times for a total of 3 possible banishing options in the end of wave stores.
- Your remaining banishes are listed on the button itself

Amber counter is now hidden by default to save space. Only appears when you collect amber and then goes away again.
- New SFX when amber is collected.
- New particle effect on amber.

Visual and audio improvements to the Ordinance Drops
- Fixed some UI not going away properly behind the ordinance drop store menu
- Ordnance drops include goo, amber, and a special chest drop (based on the tier of hive you defeated)

More decor and visual updates to levels.

Item drops now animate out of their eggs instead of just appearing.

Achievement Updates

A number of achievement requirements have been lowered to give quicker access to some permanent upgrades.

- A study of bombadiers - reduced from 400 bombardier kills to 200
- Attractive - reduced from 10 collected magnet power ups to 5
- Critically Acclaimed - 8000 critical hits to 4000
- Cyborg - robotic arm relics collected from 100 to 25
- Honorary Doctorate - total health pickups from 400 to 200
- I can take a hit - 1000 damage taken to 200
- If you can dodge a... - 400 melee attacks dodged to 10
- Laser focused - 8000 kills with the laser sights equipped to 4000
- Lots of ordovician autopsies later - 2500 kills to 1000
- 5k fanatic - renamed to "Relay Runner" - changed from 5000 distance traveled to 500
- Thats a lot of damage - 8 million damage dealt to 4 million

Bug Fixes

Fixed high resolution text option not being selectable with keyboard/controllers

A number of codex entries that had been missing or copies of other objects have been given a more thematic "coming soon" message. Will be given full entries in a future update.

VRChat - Flare
Beach vibes, a cookin’ sun, and the smell of barbeque – it’s summer, baby, and it’s time to Jam!

That’s right – we’re hosting our first-ever Summer Music Fest Jam! Think of it as a VRChat beach episode, but with more bangers. This Jam will have a few parts. We’ll go into more detail below, but here’s the general idea:

  • A World & Avatar Jam!
  • A bunch of events (hosted by you!) utilizing the new worlds
  • Promotion (from us!) for as many of the events using said worlds as possible.
In addition, there’s a chance we might throw our own event on your map!

Jam submissions open July 8, and will remain open until August 2. The submissions will be judged, and the winners will be featured starting August 12 until September 6. During this period, we’ll be looking for events to promote that utilize the maps in question.

Howdy Pilgrim,

we've been hard at work to make Wild West Dynasty the best possible gaming experience when we will release version 1.0 - the exact date will be announced very soon.

In the weeks to come we want to introduce some of the mechanics to you, that are either fully new or revamped to give you a better gameplay experience.



One element that we completely overhauled is the farming system.

Not only is it heavily connected with our new water supply mechanics. It is also a prime example how you can utilize the workforce of the settlers that joined you.

They will help work on the fields, watering the crops and taking in the harvest.





So in short: Take good care of them (don't forget to give them a roof over their head, food and water) and they will take care of you!!
