Hi everyone, small new update!

We also updated the supporter pack to add Japanese and an image from Tamaghost Jump! Once again, thank you to all the translators who are helping make the game accessible to so many more people around the world! More translations are on their way as well.

Changelog
  • Revised the conditions that trigger a small cutscene with Aoi.
  • Fixed a minor issue with the first crow save.
  • Fixed a minor graphical glitch when feeding your TamaGhostâ„¢.
  • Fixed an issue that could get the player stuck when looking at the large tree for the first time.
  • Fixed a dialogue line that wouldn't play during a conversation with Rune.
  • Fixed some dialogue with Sai about burnt fuses.
  • Fixed some missing periods and grammatical errors.
Progress Update
Chapter 2 has been advancing at a very slow pace... (we needed to give some time to irl responsibilites)! We don't want to reveal anything just yet, but we're really excited to work on this chapter. Let's just say it'll be more "chaotic" than Chapter 1, due to a new character being introduced.

As for the game as a whole, we're currently trying to find the best way to slice the game down to more workable pieces, so that development goes smoother than it went for Chapter 1 (and we get the game in your hands in a reasonable time). As some of you might have noticed at the end of Chapter 1, the last save file has Sai's sprite on it. This means you'll be able to play as him occasionally (as well as possibly other characters throughout the game)! Going forward, it will help to get a few different perspectives.

Regarding the more technical side, we're also progressing on porting the engine to Godot 4. It's... quite a massive task. After fixing over 2000 compilation errors and dozens of problems when launching the game, it finally works! Sort of.
Not really.
It's a mess.

The game gets to the title screen, but not without tripping over itself in the process...



We even managed to go in-game! If you can call it that...


In fact, you can't even interact with anything. It's cursed.

We'll fix it little by little.

Hello there!

I have wanted to add a level editor to this game since I started working on it, and now I've finally got it done, just in time for the three year anniversary of the game's release!

Additions:
  • New menu on the main menu for custom content.
  • New custom content hub to play and upload levels to the Steam Workshop.
  • New built-in level editor to create custom content.

Bug Fixes
  • Lots of bugs were fixed. Seriously. Lots. I've forgotten a lot of the small ones.
  • Frame rate is now not capped by V-Sync even when V-Sync is disabled.
  • Improved frame rate consistency.
  • Improved widescreen support.

  • UI: Add detailed ammo counts to mission map screen (full map view). This was a requested feature to be able to see the full ammo count and capacity.
  • UI: Cleanup mission map screen and add thin borders to map/minimap.
  • UI: Adjust some more HUD transparency values for consistency.
  • Gameplay: Reduce cost of cluster missiles weapon and charged orb weapon by 50 tokens each.
  • Gameplay: Reduce cost of cluster missile targeting computer upgrade by 200->150, and level 2 300->250.
  • Gameplay: Increase targeting arc that is added by cluster targeting targeting computer upgrades by +5 degrees per upgrade.
  • Gameplay: Increase cooldown reduction by -.25 sec and -.5 sec for cluster missile recharge upgrades (-.75 sec for both combined).
  • Gameplay: Update opening cinematic artwork on Jack.
  • Gameplay: Add experimental option that does nose-based aiming for gamepads only. This transforms horizontal axis to rotation instead of cursor pushing and vertical axis to aim near/far instead of cursor pushing.
  • Gameplay: In the loadout screen, slot 3 is now always visible before becoming unlocked. It will show a hint on how to unlock it via a purchase. This is designed to help new players understand how to get a third weapon.
  • Gameplay: Minor adjustments to loadout descriptions.

  • Fixed incorrect leaderboard view (it cropped the bottom of long leaderboards)
  • Final boss spawns less enemies, but swaps attacks faster
  • BUFFED level 1 and 2 for lightning, shooters, and turrets.
  • BUFFED overall lightning damage
  • The orbs in the "Spinning Orbs" upgrade are now made barely visible, as the visuals made flying the ship more difficult
  • INTEREST is now capped at 100 extra coins per level (which you earn when having a minimum of 500 coins)

Scourge Of War - Remastered - norb
Very happy to finally get it out. We are much less intensity than earlier in our lives. The older we get the more amazing it is that we released this game by our little team. It's a ton of code, I'm not sure I could even do it again. So now we are just modifying what we already created. Adding the features we've always wanted and a lot of just getting things right. If MP is not working for you, just open the ports. If it still doesn't work, then please be patient. We have plans to make it a lot easier using a different API from Steam.

We have enhancements for the maps. We no longer have the 32 bit memory limits and we run a good bit faster. Just a little to wet your whistle. We really hope you enjoy our efforts. I was also pleasantly surprised to see we had a German translation with others planned.

For those that have already played, hopefully the new eye candy will help you out. For others, it's finally ready.

Big items to come, SOWGB as a DLC. Enhanced MP. Leaderboards and Lobby. Just to list a few items.
