As you've all noticed, the server was raided and destroyed.
After assessing the damage, we have concluded the current server is too wrecked to salvage, and we can't be sure it's even entirely safe to use anymore. In light of this we are currently working on a new server built from a month old template of this server, it will be identical, however the history and content is permanently lost unfortunately.
However, in the game still has the wrong link(which is lead to nowhere), which will remain so until the next update, one of the new features of which will be that the good link will be there or, if Genesz doesn't decide, there won't be anything xD Thank you for your steadfast patience and for not giving up. Neither will we. So keep wait for the update... OR Go on vacation, meet your friends, be with your family, enjoy the summer. The Long Drive will be there after all of that and we will continue to work on it.
implemented UDS Weather to game. Can be used for various weather effect, replacing those from UE4 version.
Currently rain and storm are implemented. Added and slightly increased chance for rain and storm even for Eden game mode, and they can occur during the first day already now.
Remainder on their effect on character and items:
Negative:
Rain will make character and items wet unless covered in shelter. Rain does not impact items in inventory. Wet wood or other fuel will prevent fire to start up. You can not start the fire during the rain, but rain will not extinguish already lit fire.
Storm will extinguish even burning fire unless its sheltered.
Positive:
Rain/storm will replenish fresh water catch in rock or in rain-catcher.
Fixed issues with arrows collisions. This was again bug by UE4.0 moving to UE5.0. Its very hard as they do not manifest in editor, only in final packaged game. Additionally the parameters and setting look o.k. in editor, so its literally a guessing game to seek whats wrong.
- Fixed a rare softlock in one of the endings - New sprites for Tashinyan - Lighter now can't get obstructed by geometry - (Hopefully) fixed game crashing after the intro cutscene on some hardware - Respawn the player when he manages to glitch out of bounds (introduced as a safety measure) - Minor tweaks and typo corrections
Today, we celebrate ten years of Unturned on Steam!
If you'd like to read a long-winded rambling blog post from the overly nostalgic developer, you may enjoy: Reflecting on 10 Years of Unturned
Event Content
The main menu is decorated with a harkening back to the 2.0 era. And, for the first time, we're releasing a craftable mystery box, or, more accurately, mystery... tophat?
Reach in and draw a random item from the hat! Its design pays homage to the company's early hat-themed logos (I named SDG when I was around 12-13 and unfortunately don't recall quite what I was thinking). The hat contains a variety of classic items from Unturned 2.2.5. It's similar to the original Anniversary Gift Bag, but freely craftable rather than a playtime drop in our continued opposition against bot farms.
For the next two weeks, as part of the anniversary event, you can craft it from Menu > Survivors > Inventory > Crafting:
Credit and special thanks to Toothy Deerryte! We hired her to port the assets from her 2.0 data mining, and I think she brought a special nostalgic perspective as a player from that time.
New SDGNelson Plush
We're also excited to unveil a new collaboration with Makeship to make the SDGNelson/SDG-logo-character into a limited-edition collectible plush toy!
With your own genetic* clone of Unturned's developer (Nelson), you'll have unprecedented access to request features, report bugs, and ask your burning questions about the lore**.
*It's yet unconfirmed whether the original Nelson is composed of polypropylene cotton and ultra-soft fleece. This is almost certainly a marketing gimmick.
**Plushie is incapable of responding or acting on these inquiries. But hey, don't let that stop you from asking away!
Edit 2024-07-29: The campaign for the SDGNelson Plushie on Makeship has ended. Since the campaign goal was met, these are estimated to start shipping out on October 22, 2024! Once they ship, its estimated to take 7-15 days to arrive. Some regions may take 10-30 days. Thank you for your support!
In case you missed it, earlier this week we released a major gameplay update, too! Various vehicle improvements, an audio menu, kicking for grass-colored skin, and more:
